<itunes:title>#5 - Using Dynamic Drills to Quiet the Front-brain During Motion</itunes:title>

Bruce Lee once said “The stillness in stillness is not the real stillness; only when there is stillness in movement does the universal rhythm manifest.”

Many mental performance coaches aren't training their players to enter The Zone during movement. This leaves a lot on the table. Although it's important to practice mindfulness and positive mental habits, none of it is useful unless the front-brain stays quiet throughout a sports-specific movement.

You can't train for that using positive affirmations or visualizations either, because the neural pathways related to your motion need to be trained during motion. It's akin to the saying: "practice like you play". If the goal is to enter The Zone while you're swinging a bat, shooting a basketball, or making a putt, then you must practice getting in The Zone with those movements.

That's where Dynamic Drills come in.

<itunes:title>#3 - Lifestyle Habits for Getting in The Zone</itunes:title>

How do you actually get into The Zone? This topic will require several episodes to fully address. In the process, I'm going to share with the secrets to my training System that I've taught to hundreds of amateur and professional athletes like Shane Baz, Austin Davis, and Scott McCarron.

When I first started teaching The Zone 15 years ago, I really didn't know what I was doing. I just knew are seen some amazing results. And professional and professional baseball pitchers would come to me and we'd spend three days together and literally every single one of them went out and did really, really well.

But I noticed over time that some of them would experience a gradual decline. It wouldn't be off the cliff. It'd be slow and steady to the point where they didn't know that there was anything that was off. They just weren't completely aligned. I started to dig deeper to find out what was really going on.

And that's where I started to learn so much more about what we refer to as Lifestyle Habits. My best clients weren’t just applying my coaching on the field, they were also doing the right things off the field.

I decided to incorporate some of those Lifestyle Habits into my training. In this episode, you'll learn about the most important ones: quality sleep, proper nutrition, and mindfulness

Most people think the zone is something that you just stumble across sometimes. They use breathing techniques and meditation to try to get themselves into The Zone, but more often than not, it doesn't work. Quite often, an athlete goes into a game and it becomes hit and miss for them.

I had no idea what happened in my mind and body that allowed my full ability to rise to the surface during The World Series. But I thought to myself: "If I had that experience once, why can't I experience it all the time?"

That led me to discover what The Zone is really all about, and how most people perceive The Zone inaccurately.
