In this episode, we have a special guest. Jackson is a friend from Kentucky visiting his family in Utah. We were introduced to him by his aunt who is a friend of Olivia's. Jackson is nine years clean from opiates. We joke about the DARE program, discuss what life is like sober, how Jackson got clean and what he asked his dad for as he exited rehab.

Jackson was a ton of fun to hang out with and this is yet another great episode and story of recovery.

In this episode, the friends discuss keeping resentments at bay to help maintain sobriety. We discuss when to let go of resentment, guilt, and shame. We discuss holding on to things too long, when to admit we are wrong, and when to let go and allow your higher power to help guide your feelings. This step is considered the emotional recognition step.

Brooke discusses the importance of getting sober with the help of Doctors and Therapists and we ask Julie to dive in to the medical side of addiction for some very informative and powerful thoughts on the damage we do to our brains that wire us for addiction and the need to use all resources available to help get sober.
