Snow showers keep rolling through this afternoon, when those bands set up, visibility drops fast. Southern mountains could grab another inch or two, while the rest of the state picks up less than an inch. The strong March sun helps melt what sticks, but don't trust it completely.

Good evening. West Virginia. I'm Michael Mosby.

Step outside right now and you would think winter packed its bags, we're sitting at a mild 60 degrees this evening. But don't get used to it, here comes a massive temperature crash this week. You go from 70-degree warmth on Sunday to snow showers by Monday night. That's a 40-degree swing in just 48 hours.

As the sun sets. Tonight stays quiet with partly cloudy skies, lows drop to around 43 degrees in Central West Virginia. The Northern Panhandle dips to 41 degrees, while Southern West Virginia settles near 42. Winds stay light out of the east.

Sunday brings a real surge of heat, mostly sunny skies push highs to 74 degrees in Charleston. That's running about 20 degrees above normal for mid-March, with the Northern Panhandle hits 69 degrees. And Southern West Virginia reaches 62 degrees, while you'll notice the wind picking up though. Gusts could hit 35 miles an hour by the afternoon.

Then comes Monday. A strong cold front slams through the state, rain starts in the morning and then. Temperatures crash. Here comes a 30-degree drop during the day, rain changes to snow showers by evening. Highs start near 50 but fall into the 30s.

The cold air really settles in Tuesday. Highs only reach 35 degrees in the lowlands and just 28 degrees down south. That's running nearly 20 degrees below average, winds make it feel even worse, with wind chills in the teens.

Tuesday night is brutal. Lows drop to 15 degrees in the southern mountains and 21 degrees around Charleston. That's a hard freeze, if you've any early plants popping up, cover them up.

Wednesday starts cold but rebounds to 48 degrees. By Thursday and Friday, we're back in the 60s with plenty of sun. So the roller coaster continues.

As the sun sets. If your pipes survive tonight, buy them a thank you card. — we'll be back with your next forecast evening.

See you tomorrow.

Good morning. West Virginia. I'm Michael Mosby.

Step outside right now and you'll feel 57 degrees. Feels more like May than March, but don't get too comfortable.

Moving on, A weak system brushes through today bringing scattered showers, central West Virginia sees rain between 8 A.M. and 10 A.M. — brief, light, then done. Down south, showers hold off until early afternoon, peaking around 4 P.M. Up in the Northern Panhandle? Just a quick chance around 6 P.M, most of this stays light.

Temperature-wise. Highs climb into the low to mid 70s statewide, charleston reaches 78 degrees. Wheeling tops out at 74, down in the southern mountains, you hit 72. Southwest winds stay light, 5 to 9 miles an hour.

As the sun sets. Tonight stays mild with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s. Partly cloudy. A few scattered showers or storms possible before sunrise.

Now here's where things get interesting. Wednesday brings the main event — rain and thunderstorms, some potentially strong to severe. We're talking damaging winds and isolated tornadoes possible Wednesday afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has parts of our area under a Slight Risk. Southwest winds gust to 29 miles an hour ahead of a cold front. Highs Wednesday jump to the upper 70s to low 80s — Charleston near 83 degrees — before that front crashes through.

Wednesday night, everything changes, rain transitions to snow as temperatures plummet. Thursday morning lows drop to the mid 30s with highs only reaching the mid 40s. Gusty northwest winds make it feel even colder. Friday brings clearing skies and a rebound to the upper 50s to low 60s. The weekend looks pleasant — mostly sunny Saturday with highs in the mid 60s, then another rain chance Sunday afternoon.

Enjoy the mild weather while it lasts. Wednesday's going to be a wild ride.

Looking ahead.

See you this afternoon.

Good afternoon. West Virginia. I'm Michael Mosby.

Step outside right now and you'll feel something we haven't seen in weeks. Warmth. We're sitting at 55 degrees under partly cloudy skies. And it only gets better from here.

Sunshine takes over today. Central West Virginia climbs to 73 degrees with light southwest winds. The Northern Panhandle tops out at 68, while Southern West Virginia hits 67. Perfect weather for a lunchtime walk if you ask me.

Tonight stays mild. Mostly clear with lows in the low 50s statewide. A slight chance of light rain develops after 5 A.M. As moisture creeps in.

Tuesday brings the heat. Highs jump to the mid to upper 70s statewide. Partly sunny with a 40 percent chance of scattered showers and maybe an isolated thunderstorm between 7 A.M. and 2 P.M. Nothing heavy.

Here's where it gets interesting. Wednesday is the day to watch. A strong cold front barrels through with widespread rain and thunderstorms. Some storms could turn severe with damaging winds and hail possible. Highs reach the mid to upper 70s before the front arrives. Rain could be heavy at times with a quarter to three-quarters of an inch expected.

Wednesday night the front sweeps through. Temperatures crash behind it. Rain transitions to a rain-snow mix, especially across the northern mountains. Lows plunge to the mid 30s.

Thursday morning brings a wintry mix with temperatures struggling to reach the mid 40s. Snow tapers off by afternoon but gusty northwest winds stick around. The mountains could see an inch or two on grassy surfaces.

Friday through the weekend looks quieter. Temperatures gradually recover to the upper 50s to low 70s. A few rain chances return Sunday.

Enjoy the warmth while it lasts.

See you this evening.

Good morning. West Virginia. I'm Michael Mosby.

Step outside right now and you'll feel 48 degrees wrapping around you like a warm handshake. Overnight lows stayed in the mid to upper 40s. And today? Pure sunshine from sunrise to sunset.

Central West Virginia climbs to 73 degrees. The Northern Panhandle tops out at 68. Southern areas reach 67. Southwest winds stay gentle, just 2 to 9 miles an hour. Perfect weather for a lunchtime walk if you ask me.

Tonight stays mild under mostly clear skies. Lows drop to the low 50s statewide. A slight chance of rain develops after 5 A.M. Across central areas as moisture starts sneaking back in.

Tuesday brings clouds and warmth. Highs jump to the mid to upper 70s — 78 in the central mountains, 73 up north and down south. A chance of light rain develops, especially during the morning and early afternoon. An isolated thunderstorm can't be ruled out.

Wednesday is when things get interesting. Rain and thunderstorms move in, some potentially severe with damaging winds and hail possible Wednesday afternoon and evening. Temperatures peak near 81 before a cold front crashes through.

Behind that front. A dramatic shift. Wednesday night transitions to rain and snow as temperatures plunge to the mid 30s. Thursday morning brings a wintry mix with highs struggling to reach the low to mid 40s. Gusty northwest winds make it feel even colder.

Friday through the weekend, we bounce back. Highs climb from the upper 50s Friday to near 70 by Sunday. Another round of rain arrives Sunday afternoon and evening.

The spring equinox is just 11 days away. We're gaining nearly two and a half minutes of daylight each day. Sunrise today at 7:48 A.M., sunset at 7:28 P.M.

Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.

Good afternoon. West Virginia. I'm Matt Mullins.

You're waking up to overcast skies and mild 60s after a soggy night that dropped about a fifth of an inch statewide. That rain clears out this morning. And clouds break apart by afternoon. Oh. And don't forget — clocks spring forward tonight. You lose an hour of sleep, but sunset shifts to 7:27 P.M. We're gaining daylight.

Down in the southern mountains, rain lingers through midday with patchy fog. Expect a high near 61 degrees. Central West Virginia sees rain wrapping up before noon, then partly sunny skies push the mercury to 67 degrees. Up in the Northern Panhandle, just a slight chance of showers before 9 A.M., then partly sunny with a high near 62 degrees. West winds gust to 20 miles an hour across the north.

Tonight, skies clear statewide. Lows drop to the mid-40s — perfect sleeping weather with the windows cracked.

Monday brings wall-to-wall sunshine and a warming trend. Highs climb to the upper 60s south, low 70s central and north. Tuesday pushes even warmer — near 78 degrees in Charleston. That's flirting with record territory for early March.

But here's where it gets interesting. Wednesday afternoon, a potent cold front barrels through with severe weather potential. The NWS is already highlighting damaging winds and possible tornadoes. Heavy rain could trigger flash flooding in saturated areas. Then Wednesday night, temperatures crash. Rain changes to snow in the mountains, with a flash freeze possible on wet roads above 2,500 feet.

Thursday stays unsettled with lingering snow showers in the higher elevations, then we dry out Friday and Saturday with highs rebounding to the upper 50s.

Enjoy the quiet today.

See you this evening.

Good morning. West Virginia. I'm Michael Nally.

That overnight rain left us about a sixth of an inch before clearing out. The cold front's already swept through. And now we're watching clouds break apart west to east through the afternoon.

Here's how it plays out statewide. Southern West Virginia wraps up the wettest conditions around mid-afternoon, topping out near 61 degrees. Central areas see lighter showers through late morning, then partly sunny skies push in with highs reaching 67 degrees. Up in the Northern Panhandle? Just a brief sprinkle around 7 A.M., then you clear out fast with a high near 62 degrees.

Tonight, mostly clear statewide. Lows drop to the mid-40s. Perfect sleeping weather with a light southwest breeze.

Monday brings wall-to-wall sunshine and the start of a serious warm-up. Highs climb into the upper 60s to low 70s across the board.

Tuesday pushes even warmer — we're talking near-record territory. Highs reach the mid to upper 70s statewide. Mostly sunny skies, though a few showers could pop up by afternoon. This is March warmth that feels more like May.

Then Wednesday. That's when things get interesting. We could approach 80 degrees, but a potent storm system barrels in by afternoon. Rain likely, thunderstorms possible — and meteorologists are already watching for severe weather potential. Strong winds, heavy rain, maybe even a tornado risk. This system has teeth.

Behind that front, temperatures crash Wednesday night. Rain changes to snow in the mountains above 2,500 feet. Thursday morning could bring a flash freeze on wet roads, especially in higher elevations.

Enjoy the quiet today. The real show starts midweek.

See you this afternoon.

      <itunes:title>West Virginia Weather 3/7 Evening - Dance Party Downpour</itunes:title>

Good evening. West Virginia. I'm Michael Nally.

That sticky, muggy air clinging to you? it's the last gasp of summer-like heat before a wild week hits. We picked up nearly two tenths of an inch of rain overnight. And temperatures are *still* hovering near 60 degrees at midnight. But don't get too comfortable. That warmth is about to get swept away.

**here's what's headed our way.**

A broken line of showers and thunderstorms is marching east statewide right now. Central West Virginia is ground zero for the action. Expect heavy downpours and rumbles of thunder through 11 P.M. Temperatures will actually rise overnight to near 61 degrees, fueled by soupy air ahead of a cold front. Southwest winds at 6 to 9 miles an hour keep things breezy, gusting up to 21 miles an hour at times.

**Down in Southern West Virginia**, the story is similar but with a foggy twist. Thunderstorms roll through until about 1 A.M., then patchy fog takes over. Visibilities could drop quickly in the river valleys. Lows hover in the mid-50s, which feels more like May than early March.

**Up in the Northern Panhandle**, it's a steadier, cooler soak. Rain showers likely continue through sunrise, keeping temperatures stuck in the mid-50s. Gusts up to 24 miles an hour will make it feel raw by dawn.

**Sunday brings a reset.** The front clears out by daybreak, leaving sunshine and seasonable 60s. Central WV hits 67, the Panhandle tops out at 63. And the south lands at 62. But don't stash the jackets just yet. Sunday night drops into the 40s statewide under clear skies. A sharp contrast to tonight's tropical vibes.

**Looking at the week ahead. **

We're on a temperature rollercoaster. Monday and Tuesday bring back the summer preview. Highs surge to the mid-70s—that's nearly 30 degrees above normal for early March. But then. Wednesday brings the reckoning. A powerful cold front slams in with thunderstorms and a 30-degree temperature crash by Thursday. Highs plummet from the 80s Wednesday to the upper 40s Thursday, with rain changing to snow in the higher elevations. Mountain snow is possible just 13 days before spring. Roads could turn slick fast, especially since recent rains washed away any lingering salt treatments.

Enjoy the warmth while it lasts. By midweek, we're trading flip-flops for frost warnings.

See you tomorrow.

      <itunes:title>West Virginia Weather 3/7 Evening - Thunderstorms Starting 9 PM</itunes:title>

Good evening. West Virginia. I'm Michael Nally.

Folks, that wasn't just spring warmth today. It was history. Highs shattered records statewide, soaring into the low 80s in spots. But you likely noticed the dramatic ending — a line of storms packing heavy downpours and gusty winds rolled through this afternoon.

Now the show winds down, but you'll want to stay alert. Central West Virginia sits at 56 degrees with thunderstorms rumbling until about 11 PM. Those southwest winds at 6 to 9 miles an hour could gust up to 21, so secure that trash can. Down in Southern West Virginia, the storms hang on a bit longer — expect rumbles until around 1 AM, with lows hovering near 54. Watch for patchy fog developing in the valleys after midnight. Up in the Northern Panhandle, it's a steadier, lighter rain overnight with temps holding near 54, but those gusts to 24 miles an hour will make it feel blustery.

Sunday brings a split personality. The front clears early, leaving Southern and Central regions with clearing skies and highs in the mid-60s — perfect for a late-winter hike. The Northern Panhandle holds onto the chill, struggling to hit 63 degrees. By Sunday night, everyone clears out and cools down, with lows dropping to the low 40s statewide.

Then comes the wild midweek swing. Monday and Tuesday feel like early summer, hitting the mid-70s. But Wednesday delivers a gut punch. A powerful cold front sweeps in, dropping temperatures 40 degrees in 24 hours. We're talking upper 70s on Wednesday. Crashing to the upper 40s by Thursday. The higher elevations could even see snow Thursday morning. If you're traveling the mountains Wednesday night, watch for slick spots — recent rains washed away the road salt.

Spring arrives in 13 days, but winter isn't quite done with us yet.

See you tomorrow.

Good morning. West Virginia. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside right now. And you might think it’s June, not March. We’re sitting at **83 degrees** — yes, you heard that right — **83 degrees** in early March. That's **25 degrees above normal** for this time of year. Records are falling like dominoes today, with Wheeling and Dubois already hitting all-time highs. But don’t get too comfortable with that summery warmth. A storm system is barreling in. And it’s bringing a **dramatic reality check** — think thunderstorms, wind gusts to **35 miles an hour**. And a temperature freefall overnight. Classic West Virginia: we’ll give you a taste of summer in the morning and remind you it’s *still technically winter* by Sunday.

That clear blue sky overhead? Winds out of the southwest are already gusting to **25 miles an hour**, pushing temperatures into the **upper 70s to low 80s** statewide. But this isn’t just warmth — it’s *fuel*. The National Weather Service is warning that these conditions are **priming the pump for severe thunderstorms** later today. We’ve got plenty of moisture, instability. And wind shear in place. The only question is *when* and *where* the storms fire up.

The first round of thunderstorms rolls in **between 1 P.M. and 5 P.M.** — earlier in the west, later in the east. These aren’t your garden-variety spring showers. We’re talking **damaging wind gusts up to 60 miles an hour**, frequent lightning. And even the chance of a **brief tornado**, especially in the Northern Panhandle. The storms will march eastward, peaking in intensity around **7 P.M.** when they’re most widespread. By **11 P.M.**, the bulk of the action should push into Virginia, but lingering showers and rumbles of thunder could stick around until midnight.

Let’s tour the state — because this isn’t a one-size-fits-all storm. Central West Virginia, you’re the bullseye for the strongest storms. Charleston and Huntington, expect **temperatures near 84 degrees this afternoon**, then a **sharp drop to 56 degrees overnight** as the storms roll through. Winds will howl out of the southwest at **14 miles an hour**, with gusts to **26 miles an hour**. The thunderstorms here could dump **a quarter-inch of rain in a short time**. And with soils already saturated from recent rains, **localized flooding is possible** in poor drainage areas.

Up in the Northern Panhandle, you’re under the gun for the **earliest storms**, arriving as soon as **1 P.M.** The National Weather Service is especially concerned about **rotating storms** in this area — meaning the tornado risk is a bit higher here than elsewhere. Wheeling and Morgantown, you’ll see temperatures **peak at 78 degrees by 2 P.M.**, then plummet to **53 degrees by morning**. Winds could gust to **24 miles an hour** ahead of the storms, making it feel like a tropical system blowing through. After the storms, **a secondary line of showers** moves in overnight, keeping things soggy until sunrise.

Down in Southern West Virginia, you’ll hang onto the warmth a little longer, with highs **topping out at 76 degrees** in Beckley and Bluefield. But don’t be fooled — your storms arrive **by 6 P.M.**. And they’ll pack a punch. The biggest concern here's **heavy downpours** in a short amount of time, which could lead to **flash flooding** in low-lying areas. Overnight lows drop to a **mild 54 degrees**, but by Sunday morning, you’ll wake up to a **much cooler 42 degrees** — a 30-degree swing in 12 hours.

As the cold front sweeps through, temperatures **crash**. Lows by Sunday morning will range from **the upper 30s in the mountains to the mid-50s along the Ohio River**. But the bigger story? **The wind shift.** Southwest winds that have been blasting us with warmth all day will flip to the **west overnight**, ushering in cooler, drier air. By Sunday, it’ll feel like someone flipped a switch — **humidity drops, skies clear. And temperatures struggle to climb out of the 60s**.

Here’s your heads-up for the week ahead. Sunday

Good morning. West Virginia. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside and you might think we time-traveled to June. Here comes a **record-shattering heat wave** today, running a wild **25 to 30 degrees above normal**. Charleston is forecast to hit **82 degrees**, absolutely crushing the old record of 81 set back in 2009.

In Here's catch, this summer preview is a Trojan horse.

Highs in Central West Virginia will launch to **84 degrees** by **1 PM** in Charleston and Clarksburg. You'll want to get those outdoor plans done early. By **4 PM**, that cold front crashes the party with a bang. Thunderstorms roll in. And rain becomes likely by **7 PM**. The temperature drop is just as dramatic—falling from **84** this afternoon to **56** by tomorrow morning.

Up in the Northern Panhandle. Wheeling and Weirton peak around **78 degrees** by **2 PM**. You're slightly cooler, but your storm threat arrives sooner—look for storms around **5 PM**. The National Weather Service is warning of damaging winds as the primary threat here.

Down in Beckley and Bluefield, you're flirting with **77 degrees**. Your storm window opens earliest, with a slight chance of rain by **1 PM**.

Here's your heads-up for the week ahead. Sunday stays soggy and cooler with highs in the 60s. Monday looks like a pleasant reprieve near 70 degrees. But hold on—Tuesday brings another round of storms. And by Thursday morning. Here comes lows in the **30s**. Some higher elevations might even see a rain-snow mix.

If you're headed out, keep an eye on the sky after **4 PM**. Those storms will move fast.

See you tomorrow.

Good morning. West Virginia. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside and you'll feel it. That damp, heavy air. We picked up over half an inch of rain overnight. Currently sitting at 61 degrees under gray skies, but that soggy start clears out as we move through the day.

Patchy fog lifts by mid-morning. Then Here comes partly sunny skies with temperatures climbing into the low to mid 70s across most of the state. Central West Virginia tops out near 81 degrees. The Northern Panhandle reaches 73. Southern areas hit 74. Light southwest winds keep things pleasant — perfect weather for a lunchtime walk if you ask me.

There's a slight chance of an isolated shower or brief thunderstorm this afternoon. Nothing widespread, just something to keep in mind if you're spending time outdoors.

Tonight stays mild with mostly clear skies. Lows drop to the upper 50s to low 60s statewide.

The Storm Prediction Center has us under a Slight Risk for severe weather Saturday. Damaging winds are the primary concern. A tornado or two can't be ruled out along the frontal boundary. Some storms could produce hail as well. Charge your phones and secure anything loose outside before tomorrow afternoon.

Rain continues Saturday night. Sunday sees lingering showers with highs in the low to mid 60s before drier weather returns Monday. Another system approaches midweek with more rain and possible thunderstorms Wednesday.

Good afternoon. West Virginia. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside and you're greeted by 69 degrees and that post-rain dampness. But don't get too comfortable. Because the rain's coming back.

In the next 24 hours., A front is stalled just north of us, feeding wave after wave of showers and storms into the state. The Northern Panhandle is already soaked — rain started around noon and won't quit until early Friday morning. Down in Charleston and across central areas, expect rain this afternoon rolling through overnight. Southern West Virginia sees scattered storms firing up around 3 P.M. About those storms. We're under a marginal risk for severe weather today, mainly south of I-70. The threat? Damaging wind gusts as a surface low churns across the Ohio Valley. Keep an eye on the sky this afternoon.

Temperature-wise, we're running hot for early March — about 40 degrees above normal. The Northern Panhandle tops out near 69. Central areas climb to 76. Southern spots hit 72. Tonight stays muggy, dropping only to the mid to upper 50s statewide.

Flooding remains a serious concern across northern West Virginia and southeast Ohio. A Flood Watch continues through Friday morning. The ground is saturated, so any heavy rain could trigger new flooding or worsen what's already happening.

Friday brings a slight chance of rain with highs soaring into the low 80s. Saturday? We're talking record territory — 82 degrees with showers and thunderstorms, some possibly severe. A cold front drops us to the 60s Sunday, but the warmth rebounds next week with highs back in the 70s.

That rain drumming on your roof last night? Nearly half an inch across the state. And it's still coming down.

In the next 24 hours. Flood Warning until 4 P.M. For Wood and Pleasants counties. Flood Watch for northern parts until 1 P.M. Creeks are swollen and roads are disappearing under water. If you see flooding, turn around. Don't test it.

The Northern Panhandle is getting hammered this morning. Rain keeps falling through the day as temps hit 69 degrees. Fog's thick too — visibility down to a quarter mile in spots until around 10 A.M. Take it slow out there.

Central West Virginia sees a few rumbles of thunder early, then climbs to 76 degrees by afternoon. That's 46 degrees warmer than normal for early March. Your daffodils are confused.

Southern West Virginia catches a break today. Mostly cloudy, high near 72. Just a slight chance of rain until evening showers roll in.

Tonight, rain continues everywhere. Lows hold in the mid-50s to around 60 degrees.

Good evening. West Virginia. I'm Aaron Jolly.

You hear that drumming on the roof? we've already picked up over half an inch of rain in just six hours. The ground is officially saturated.

In the next 24 hours. Here's the setup for tonight. The Northern Panhandle takes the direct hit. Expect persistent rain with fog rolling in and lows settling near 55 degrees. Some spots could see another half inch of water. Central West Virginia, keep your ears open between 7 and 9 P.M. Thunderstorms are possible during that window. Down south, you catch a break with just a slight chance of showers overnight.

Thursday keeps the wet pattern going. The Panhandle stays soggy with rain and fog, highs near 69 degrees. Central areas climb to 78 degrees with rain likely. The south reaches 72 degrees with a chance of afternoon showers.

Now here's the headline. Friday and Saturday bring extraordinary warmth. We're talking highs near 81 degrees in central West Virginia. That's roughly 47 degrees above normal for early March. We're flirting with record territory. But Saturday brings a catch. A cold front sweeps through with strong thunderstorms possible. Damaging winds and even an isolated tornado can't be ruled out.

Sunday cools back to the 60s with lingering showers. Monday and Tuesday rebound into the mid 70s with scattered rain chances.

In Keep two things on your radar, flooding concerns tonight in the northern counties. And that potential severe weather Saturday. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight now. And the spring equinox sits just two weeks away.

Good afternoon. West Virginia. I'm Aaron Jolly.

We picked up about four-tenths of an inch of rain overnight, but the real story is the thermometer. Step outside and you might think we skipped straight to late April.

In the next 24 hours. Central West Virginia is basking in 66 degrees right now. That's running a solid 47 degrees warmer than usual for early March. You'll likely see a few rumbles of thunder as rain peaks around 5 P.M. It stays unusually mild tonight with showers and a low of 57.

Head north to the Panhandle and it's a bit cooler at 59 degrees, but the rain is persistent. Watch for patchy fog developing as that 90 percent chance of rain continues overnight. Lows only dip to about 55 degrees.

Down in southern West Virginia, you're looking at 65 degrees this afternoon with rain likely through early evening. Skies partially clear tonight with a low around 52. A Flood Warning is in effect for Mason County until 5:30 P.M. We've also got a Flood Watch covering northwest West Virginia and southeast Ohio through Thursday afternoon. Creeks are running high, so don't try to drive through water covering the road.

Tomorrow kicks off a remarkable warm stretch. Central areas hit 78 degrees. The Panhandle reaches 69. The south climbs to 72. We're talking 47 degrees to 47 degrees above normal.

Friday and Saturday could challenge records, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. But Saturday brings a change. A cold front sweeps through with strong to severe storms possible in the afternoon. Damaging winds and even an isolated tornado can't be ruled out.

Sunday cools back to the 60s with lingering showers, before we rebound to the mid-70s Monday and Tuesday.

If you see high water today, turn around. Don't drown. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.

Good morning. West Virginia. I'm Aaron Jolly.

That steady drumming on your roof overnight wasn't just your imagination. We picked up four-tenths of an inch of rain. And the ground is officially calling it quits. Central West Virginia is under a Flood Warning until 8:30 this morning. Creeks and streams are rising fast from Clarksburg down to Parkersburg. Turn around, don't drown — finding a different route is a lot better than ruining your day.

In the next 24 hours. Up in the Northern Panhandle, you're dealing with a double whammy. Dense fog is cutting visibility to a quarter mile or less through 11 A.M. Take it slow on the commute this morning.

In Here's wild part, it's mid-March, but it feels like late April. Central West Virginia hits 67 degrees today — a solid 46 degrees warmer than normal. Thunderstorms might rumble through this afternoon. Down south, you're looking at 65 with rain tapering off this evening. The Northern Panhandle stays the cool spot, socked in at 58 degrees.

Thursday turns up the heat even more. We're talking 78 degrees in some spots. Friday could flirt with 82. That's remarkable for this time of year. Saturday brings our next big system with rain and storms likely before we cool down slightly next week.

Spring is officially just 16 days away, but looking at this forecast, it seems someone forgot to tell the weather.

Good evening. West Virginia. I'm Aaron Jolly.

That steady rain overnight left the ground soaked and the creeks rising. We picked up about four-tenths of an inch in the last 24 hours. And we're not done yet. A Flood Warning is active until 8:30 this morning for central and northern counties. If you're around Clarksburg. Weston, or Spencer, watch for standing water on the roads. A Flood Watch continues through 1 P.M. For much of the rest of the state.

In the next 24 hours. Dense fog has settled into those river valleys this morning. Visibility could drop to a quarter mile or less in spots. Take it slow on your commute.

Central West Virginia sits at 54 degrees right now. Rain continues through the day with a high near 67 degrees. Patchy fog lingers through midday. Thunderstorms are possible by afternoon. Tonight stays mild at 57 degrees with more rain chances.

The Northern Panhandle is cooler and wetter. Fog and rain persist with a high near 58 degrees. That rain continues tonight with a low around 55 degrees.

Down in Southern West Virginia, rain arrives after 4 A.M. Highs reach 65 degrees with a brief break in the rain tonight. Lows dip to 52 degrees.

Thursday brings the real headline. Temperatures surge. Central West Virginia could hit 78 degrees. That's more than 46 degrees above normal for early March. The Northern Panhandle reaches 70. Southern areas climb to 72. Rain continues. And thunderstorms become more likely.

Friday may touch 80 degrees in spots. Saturday looks stormy with potential strong thunderstorms and highs near 81. A cold front sweeps through Saturday night, dropping us back to the upper 60s by Sunday.

Spring equinox is just over two weeks away. Tonight's full moon will rise at sunset. We're gaining nearly two and a half minutes of daylight each day.

Good evening. West Virginia. I'm Jack O'Malley.

That steady drumming on your roof overnight wasn't just a dream. We picked up nearly half an inch of rain across much of the state. And the faucet isn't turning off yet. A Flood Watch is in effect for northern West Virginia through Wednesday afternoon. Those creeks and streams are rising fast, so if you're near a flood-prone area, keep your eyes peeled.

In the next 24 hours. Tonight, the heaviest rain sets up shop in the Northern Panhandle. You're looking at another quarter to half an inch overnight with patchy fog rolling in. Lows stick around a mild 50 degrees. Down in Central West Virginia, the rain just keeps coming with lows near 53. Southern West Virginia gets a bit of a break — about a coin flip on rain with lows dipping to 47.

Wednesday stays soggy. The Northern Panhandle deals with rain and fog all day, highs only reaching 58. Central West Virginia warms to 66 with more rain and maybe a rumble of thunder. Southern areas climb to 64 with scattered showers.

But here's plot twist, summer is crashing the party in March. By Thursday. Central West Virginia surges to 78 degrees. Friday? We're talking 82 degrees. That's nearly 47 degrees above normal. We're gaining two minutes of daylight every single day. And spring is officially just two weeks away.

The weekend brings another round of storms Saturday. A cold front slides through Sunday, but even then, highs stay in the upper 60s.

You might spot the full moon trying to peek through the clouds tonight, but it will be a struggle. The real reward comes Friday — clearing skies and that sweet 80-degree warmth.

Charge your phones and keep the rain gear handy. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.

Good morning. West Virginia. I'm Aaron Jolly.

That low gray sky you're staring at? It's bringing us a messy mix today. A low pressure system is pulling warm Gulf air north while cold air stays locked at the surface. Translation: wintry chaos.

In the next 24 hours. We're sitting at 34 degrees right now. Let me walk you through what's happening.

Central West Virginia gets the full buffet. Snow this morning flips to rain by mid-morning as we climb to 47 degrees. Rain continues tonight with lows near 43. Tuesday? A wild jump to 65.

The Northern Panhandle starts with snow — maybe an inch sticking around. High only 42 degrees. Rain takes over tonight as temps hold mid-30s. Tuesday leaps to 59.

Southern West Virginia faces the trickiest stuff. Rain and snow mix all day with a high near 40. Southeast winds gust to 23 miles an hour, making it feel like 27 this morning. That's jacket-zipping cold. More rain tonight, low of 37. Tuesday warms to 60.

Western Greenbrier County. You've got a Winter Storm Warning. Ice accumulations up to a quarter inch are possible. That's the kind of ice that snaps branches and kills power lines. Travel gets dicey tonight into Tuesday morning. Take it slow.

Here's the plot twist for the week. Once this system clears, we're looking at an extended warm spell. Temperatures climb into the 70s by Wednesday and could kiss 80 by Friday. That's nearly a 40-degree swing from this morning. Rain chances stick around each day, so keep the umbrella close. Spring arrives in two weeks. and we're gaining over two minutes of daylight now.

In Sunrise was 6, 58 this morning. Sunset comes at 6:21 tonight.

Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz.

Step outside right now and you'll wonder if someone swapped February for April. We're sitting at 37 degrees under a sky so clear you could count stars last night. High pressure is parked overhead, giving us one of those gift-wrapped winter days you don't question. You just enjoy.

In the next 24 hours. Central West Virginia? You're the winner today. Climbing to 64 degrees under brilliant sunshine. That's the kind of warmth that tricks the daffodils. The Northern Panhandle hits 59 with that same gorgeous blue sky. Down south, you're matching that 59 with nothing but sunshine ahead.

But here's the twist. A dry cold front slides through this afternoon. No rain, no drama. Just the opening act. Because tonight, an Alberta Clipper drops in from Canada. and that's when our quiet Saturday turns interesting.

Clouds roll in after sunset. Central West Virginia drops to 41 tonight with rain possible after 4 A.M. Sunday. The Northern Panhandle cools to 34. and that 3 A.M. Rain could make your early Sunday commute slick. Down south, you stay drier with a low around 40 and just a slight chance of morning sprinkles.

Sunday cools way down. Central areas hit 51 with rain before 1 P.M. The Panhandle? Just 42 degrees. Southern counties reach 48.

Your week ahead gets wild. Sunday brings that Clipper rain. Monday turns tricky with a wintry mix possible in the mountains. Tuesday through Thursday? A warming trend with daily rain chances. Then Friday explodes to 77 degrees. That's a 20-degree jump from today's already mild readings.

In One more thing. Sunrise hits at 7, 01 A.M. With sunset at 6:19 P.M. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight every single day now.

That gray blanket overhead? It's not just for show. We're at 43 degrees right now. And those clouds are wringing themselves out across the southern part of the state.

Down in the coalfields, rain is falling as we speak. The heaviest stuff hits around 10 A.M., so if you're commuting, keep the wipers handy. You'll top out at 45 degrees before the clouds finally pack up this afternoon and head east.

Central West Virginia, you're playing weather roulette this morning. A chance of rain through midday, then skies crack open. Highs near 49 degrees. Tonight drops to 31 degrees under clearing skies.

Up in the Northern Panhandle, you might see a snowflake or two between 9 and 10 A.M. Just a quick hello from winter — nothing that'll stick around. Highs hit 44 degrees with mostly sunny skies by afternoon. Tonight you're the cold spot at 26 degrees.

Here's your reward for enduring this damp Thursday morning. Friday brings sunshine and 60 degrees in Central West Virginia. Saturday cranks it up even higher — mid 60s. The kind of weekend where you'll forget it's still February.

But don't get too comfortable. Sunday night into Monday, a winter storm takes aim at West Virginia. Rain and snow are both on the table, though the details are still fuzzy. Keep an eye on this one as we roll into March.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the West Virginia Weather Podcast — it's Wednesday, February 25th.

Step outside right now and you're at 44 degrees under a loaded gray sky. A clipper system is sliding through this morning with snow. And it's making the morning commute interesting.

The Northern Panhandle takes the brunt of it. Snow cranks up at 6 A.M. and wraps by 9 A.M. Heaviest around 6 A.M. when there's a 71 percent chance. You'll climb to 47 degrees by 3 P.M., then drop hard to 28 degrees by tomorrow morning at 6 A.M. Winds flip from southwest to west around 4 P.M. Early on, it'll feel like 27 degrees around 7 A.M. Cover up if you're scraping windshields.

Southern West Virginia gets snow from 6 A.M. to 11 A.M. Peak odds hit 50 percent around 7 A.M. You start at 35 degrees around 6 A.M., then warm to 50 degrees by 4 P.M. Winds shift around noon. Feels like 26 degrees early, so Dress warmly for the school run.

Central West Virginia sees a messy mix from 6 A.M. to 9 A.M. You'll hit 56 degrees by 4 P.M., then slide to 36 degrees by tomorrow at 6 A.M. Winds change around 2 P.M.
Tonight, rain creeps in after 9 P.M. across central and southern areas. Thursday brings another round of rain and snow, highs mid-40s to near 50.

But Friday and Saturday? Beautiful. High pressure locks in with sunshine. Saturday could touch the low 60s in spots, about ten degrees warmer than normal for late February. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight today. And spring is just three weeks out.

Next week, another system swings through Monday into Tuesday with rain and snow chances.

Stay dry this morning. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the West Virginia Weather Podcast — it's Tuesday, February 24th.

Step outside and you'll feel that crisp 22 degrees biting at your face. But this is classic West Virginia. Some of you're getting snow. Some are getting rain. And by Saturday? You'll be flirting with 60 degrees.

Down in Southern West Virginia, snow showers linger before 7 A.M., then skies clear to partly sunny. You'll hit 36 degrees today. Tonight, another round of snow arrives after midnight. Lows near 29. Winds gust to 28 miles an hour, so expect some blowing snow in the higher spots. Tomorrow you'll thaw to 47 degrees, but rain and snow could mix early.

Central West Virginia gets the gentler version. Partly sunny today with highs reaching 42. A light southwest breeze makes it almost pleasant. But after midnight, light rain moves in. Lows dip to 34, then temperatures actually rise overnight to 39 by dawn. Winds pick up, gusting to 26 miles an hour. Tomorrow you're looking at 55 degrees. Yes, 55. But watch for a slight chance of rain and snow before 1 P.M.

Now the Northern Panhandle has it roughest. Today stays chilly at 38 degrees. Then snow arrives after 10 P.M. Tonight. An 80 percent chance means you'll wake up to about an inch on the ground. Tomorrow, snow continues before 7 A.M., then mixes with rain. Highs reach 47, but gusts up to 25 miles an hour make it feel colder. Winter Weather Advisories run from 9 P.M. Tonight through 1 P.M. Wednesday. Plan for slippery roads.

The week ahead brings wild swings. Wednesday mixes snow and rain, highs in the 40s and 50s. Thursday brings rain statewide. Friday breaks sunny in the 50s. Saturday hits near 60 — spring's preview. Sunday cools back to the 40s and 50s.

One more thing. Sunrise is 7:07 A.M., sunset at 6:15 P.M. We're gaining 2 minutes and 24 seconds of daylight today. Spring is coming.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the West Virginia Weather Podcast — it's Monday, February 23rd.

Winter just hit the snooze button and rolled back over. Half an inch of snow fell overnight. And it's still coming down. But this morning's flurries? Just the warm-up act. A beast of a storm is carving through the state today, bringing snow, wind. And a temperature crash that'll make you regret every clothing choice you've ever made.

Down in Southern West Virginia, you're in the thick of it. Beckley, Bluefield, Lewisburg — you're looking at another one to two inches today. Winds gusting to 17 miles an hour. By tonight, temperatures plunge to 15 degrees. That feels like 15 degrees when the wind gets involved. The kind of cold that bites.

Now the Northern Panhandle has it worse. Wheeling, Weirton, Morgantown — you're under a Winter Storm Warning until midnight. Another one to three inches, winds gusting to 22 miles an hour. Those gusts are creating whiteout conditions along I15 degrees. If you're driving, slow way down. Visibility can drop to nothing in seconds.

Central West Virginia — Charleston, Huntington, Parkersburg — you're catching a break. Light snow today, less than half an inch. But watch the temperature. You hit 36 degrees this afternoon, then crash to 21 tonight. That's a 15-degree drop in 12 hours.

Here's your week ahead. Tuesday brings a breather — highs climb to the upper 30s and 40s with sunshine. Then Tuesday night, rain and snow mix moves into the Northern Panhandle. Thursday gets wild. Rain statewide with highs hitting the 50s. Charleston, you could see 55. But Friday morning? It all freezes. Wet roads plus plunging temps equals black ice. Saturday rebounds into the 60s — yes, 60s in February. Sunday cools back to the 50s with rain returning.

One bright spot. Sunrise today is at 7:08 A.M. We're gaining two extra minutes of daylight. Spring is coming. Eventually.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the West Virginia Weather Podcast — it's Sunday, February 22nd.

Winter just woke up angry. Snow, wind. And temperatures that'll make you regret leaving the house. Let's get into it.

Central West Virginia starts with rain and snow mixing around 7 A.M., then clears to mostly cloudy by noon. You'll hit 37 degrees, but don't get comfortable. Northwest winds blow at 6 to 12 miles an hour. Tonight, light snow returns, dropping you to 25 degrees by midnight. By 3 A.M., wind chills hit 15 degrees — that's the kind of cold that sneaks through your coat.

Now drive up to the Northern Panhandle. Snow sticks around all day, peaking at 87 percent chance around 4 A.M. Monday. Highs barely scrape 37 degrees. And winds gust to 21 miles an hour tonight. By 5 A.M., it feels like 19 degrees, even though you're at 28. Monday brings more snow — 1 to 3 inches piling up.

Southern West Virginia gets the worst of it. Snow likely this morning, 1 to 2 inches on the ground. Highs struggle to 32 degrees. And winds howl at 7 to 15 miles an hour, gusting to 28. Tonight, snow continues, lows crash to 19 degrees. By 6 A.M., wind chills hit 15 degrees — dangerously cold. Monday stays wintry, more snow, highs in the mid-20s.

Winter Storm Warnings are up statewide. Black ice is a real threat tonight. If you're driving, slow down and give yourself extra time.

Here's the good news. Tuesday starts a warmup — highs climb into the 40s and 50s by midweek. Rain moves in Wednesday and Thursday, but Friday hits 50 degrees. Saturday could touch 64 degrees in some spots. That's a 40-degree swing from today.

Quick favor — if this helped you plan your day, share it with someone who could use a heads-up.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the West Virginia Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 17th.

Folks, here's the deal. February just handed us a gift. Step outside and you'll feel something rare for mid winter. Warmth. Actual, genuine warmth.

Central West Virginia leads the charge today, climbing to 54 degrees. That's jacket optional territory. Light west winds keep things comfortable. Head south and you're seeing 50 degrees with gentle breezes around 6 miles an hour. Now drive up to the Northern Panhandle. It's the cool kid at 48 degrees, with southwest winds between 3 and 7 miles an hour. Still, 48 in February? I'll take that every single time.

Here's the thing though. Air quality sits in the moderate range today. If you've got sensitive lungs, you'll want to ease up on the heavy outdoor stuff. But for everyone else? This is prime "get outside and remember what sunshine feels like" weather.

Tonight the skies stay crystal clear. Lows settle into the mid 30s across most of the state. Nothing dramatic. Just a gentle cooldown before tomorrow delivers another mild run. Highs bounce right back into the upper 40s to low 50s statewide.

Here's your heads up for the week ahead. The quiet pattern holds. Dry skies dominate with temperatures hovering near or slightly above normal. No storms lurking. No surprises hiding. Midweek brings a gradual cooldown, but nothing that'll make you curse your thermostat. Enjoy the calm while it lasts.

One more thing worth celebrating. Sunrise hit at 6:32 this morning and sunset stretches to 5:20 tonight. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight. Spring is creeping closer, folks. Slowly, but she's coming.

Alright. If you're enjoying these daily updates, share us with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps this thing going.

Bundle up lightly tonight. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the West Virginia Weather Podcast. It's Friday, February 16th.

Folks, here's the deal. No drama today. No ice storms, no wind advisories, no surprise snow. Just honest, quiet February air across the Mountain State. And honestly? After the winter we've had, I'll take it.

Step outside in central West Virginia and you'll feel 36 degrees with a gentle westerly breeze topping out around 12 miles an hour. Not bad. Head south and it's a couple degrees cooler at 34. Up in the Northern Panhandle, you're sitting at 33 degrees with a southwest wind pushing 14 miles an hour. That breeze has teeth, so bundle up if you're heading out early.

Quick note on air quality. It's moderate today. If your lungs are sensitive, maybe save the trail run for the weekend.

Tonight, temperatures slide into the 20s statewide. Skies stay mostly clear, but that breeze makes it feel colder than the thermometer says. Tomorrow warms slightly. Highs push into the upper 30s, flirting with 40 degrees. Still dry. Still calm.

Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Sunday looks gorgeous. Highs climbing into the low 40s with sunshine that actually feels like it means something. Early next week stays dry with temperatures hovering near 40 degrees. By midweek, we could see a slight cooldown, but nothing dramatic. No major storm systems on the radar. Just steady, predictable February weather. Perfect for getting outside and shaking off the cabin fever.

One more thing worth celebrating. Sunrise hit 6:33 this morning. Sunset's at 5:18 tonight. That's three more minutes of daylight than yesterday. Spring is sneaking closer, one minute at a time.

Alright. If you're enjoying these daily updates, share us with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps this thing going.

Stay safe out there, folks. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
