In the year 10,191, House Atreides are given the charge of taking over mining the planet Arrakis (also known as Dune) for spice, the most valuable commodity in the universe. But the previous fief holders, House Harkonnen, are not letting it go without a fight. With an all star cast including Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgaard, Zendaya, Javier Bardem and Jason Momoa, and a incredible score by Hans Zimmer, Dune is a visually stunning masterpiece from one of our favorite directors in recent history.

Email us at weinterruptthismovie@gmail.com with questions, comments and movie suggestions

Hosted by Tage Sickler and Steve Teasdale
Theme song and incidental music composed and performed by Steve Teasdale

Send us Fan Mail

The Lads continue their journey into Middle Earth with the second part of The Lord of the Rings trilogy: 2002’s The Two Towers with a guest; our buddy Cameron.
The Fellowship have split up. Frodo and Sam continue toward Mordor, followed by Gollum (whose real name is revealed to be Sméagol). He leads them to the Black Gate but can they trust him to not stab them in the back? Meanwhile, Merry and Pippin are able to escape from the Orcs, only to meet an ancient being who brings them to an Ent Moot. Aragorn and Co., after being assured by a resurrected Gandalf (Now The White) that Merry and Pippin are safe, head to Rohan to help King Theoden defeat an Orc army 10,000 strong.
It’s another masterful film by Peter Jackson that we really enjoyed diving into. Plus, Steve and Cameron go head to head in a trivia contest hosted by Tage. It’s a long episode this week but we podcasters don’t say anything unless it’s worth taking a very long time to say!

Theme song and all incidental music composed and performed by Steve Teasdale

A council convenes and trusts the One Ring's fate to Frodo. After this, he and eight others set out on a quest to destroy the Ring and prevent the evil Sauron's return to power. Moscow, 1953. After being in power for nearly 30 years, Soviet dictator Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin fell ill and quickly died. Now the members of the Council of Ministers scramble for power. With arguably a perfect cast and a comical look at the turnaround of the Soviet leadership after Stalin's death. The Death of Stalin embodies the ridiculous and obscene; while also being one of the best comedies on this side of the decade.

Back in the early days of the podcast, we covered the film but later realized we didn’t quite do it justice. Considering it’s one of our favorite movies of all time, that never sat right with us, so we decided it was time to return to Denis Villeneuve’s beautiful, brain-melting sci-fi masterpiece with fresh eyes and a deeper conversation. We dig into what makes Arrival so powerful—from its approach to language and time, to Jóhann Jóhannsson’s haunting score (bookended by Max Richter’s beautiful piece, On the Nature of Daylight) to Amy Adams’ incredible performance—and why this film has only grown in stature for us over the years. Sometimes a movie deserves a second pass.

Send us Fan Mail

We know it’s been a while but the lads are back with a new episode! Today we’re talking about Ridley Scott’s second feature film, 1979’s Alien with our guest, James! In the year 2122, a group of deep space workers are awakened from stasis to investigate a strange signal coming from a seemingly uninhabited planet. But what they bring back on board their ship may kill them all. The beginning of a franchise, the launch of an amazing director and one of the best tag lines in movie history make Alien one of our favorites!

Hosted by Tage Sickler and Steve Teasdale
Guest - James Teasdale

Theme song and all incidental music composed and performed by Steve Teasdale

Please email us with any questions, comments and movie suggestions at weinterruptthismovie@gmail.com

Please rate our show and leave us a review wherever you listen!

Send us Fan Mail

The lads talk about Robert Zemeckis's all-time classic, Back to the Future. Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is just your average high school slacker—that is, until, with the help of his scientist and inventor friend Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd), he is sent 30 years into the past. When this movie first hit theaters, it was an instant hit. With the help of our guest, our buddy Derek, we hope this episode is also an instant classic.

Please help us by getting the word out there any way you can. Feedback is encouraged and appreciated. As always, if you would like to suggest a movie or reach out with any comments, please email us at weinterruptthismovie@gmail.com.

The theme music was composed and performed by Steve Teasdale.
