Watching Movies with my Mom is a comedic, insightful podcast about how to watch movies with your mom (or any sensitive viewer) without subjecting them to excessive gore, explicit sex, or disturbing violence—while still preserving the surprises and suspense of the movie. (No spoilers!)

Each episode breaks down a favorite movie and “translates” it into an easier viewing experience. We’ll let you know when to look away, turn off the sound, or just skip a moment entirely. And we’ll tell you why we think it’s a movie worth watching - even if it has some challenges for sensitive viewers.

Your Hosts

Nathaniel Thompson launched the comprehensive film review site, Mondo Digital, in 1998 and has written four books about cult and international cinema (with a fifth on the way).
