<itunes:title>Use Your Voice- Honoring survivors</itunes:title>

Intro

“Welcome to Use Your Voice. I’m Denise Bradshaw — survivor, instructor, believer, and builder of resilience. Today is Day One. October — Domestic Violence Awareness Month. A day that reminds us that silence can be deadly, but truth can heal.”

“For years, I asked God, ‘What is my job here on this planet?’ And His answer never changed: ‘Use your voice.’ I didn’t always know what that meant. But through pain, through healing, through teaching others how to manage crisis, I learned — our voices are instruments of survival, of leadership, and of love.”

You can pause here for a moment of reflection — let the listener feel the weight of that calling.

“This podcast is about faith, sustainability, unity, kindness, and resilience. It’s about learning to speak truth after trauma. It’s about rebuilding communities and hearts. It’s about finding purpose in preparedness — because resilience isn’t just about surviving storms; it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”

“As a professional emergency manager and Incident Command System instructor, I’ve spent years teaching others how to lead through chaos. But I’ve also lived it — physically, mentally, emotionally. I’ve seen what happens when systems fail, and when faith steps in. Use Your Voice is where those worlds meet — the personal and the professional, the sacred and the practical.”

“If you’re listening today, I want you to know: your voice matters. Whether you whisper, sing, teach, or pray — it matters. This month, we’ll talk about awareness, healing, and action. We’ll honor survivors, empower communities, and remind each other that silence is not strength — speaking truth is.”

“This is Use Your Voice. I’m Denise Bradshaw. And this October, we begin again — with courage, compassion, and conviction. Because every day is a chance to be better than yesterday.”
