This is the introductory episode. It is meant to initiate the purpose of the podcast as a whole and give broader context to the subject of Central America. I chose to highlight the speech by former President Ronald Reagan because I think his thesis exemplifies the dominant philosophy that the US has had regarding Central American politics. I also wanted to talk about the basic demographics of the region to give a better picture to those who may be unfamiliar with the rudimentary conditions of Central America. I also speak briefly about immigration in this episode because of the importance of Central Americans when it comes to border policy in the US.
