My grandfather, my father, and my uncle were strong in every way men are taught to be strong. Each of them died before their time. I created this show for the men I couldn't save, and the ones we still can. The Male Quotient exists to help Black men live long, healthy lives.

Hosted by physician Dr. Leo Moore, this is Black men's health, measured differently. Every week, we look honestly at the things that quietly shape how long and how well Black men live, and at the care most men were never taught to ask for. No shame, no lectures, just real information you can act on.

The idea behind the name is simple. A man is not a single number. Mind, body, and soul all factor in, and most of us were only ever taught to pay attention to the strength and resilience of our bodies. Each episode leaves you one percent wiser and gives you one concrete move to make. You are more than the sum of your parts.

At age 37, on an ordinary day, Dr. Leo's heart stopped for more than nine minutes. He was a physician in the prime of his life. There was no warning.

This is the story of what happened, and what it taught him about strength, survival, and what really carries a man through the worst day of his life.

In this deeply personal episode, Dr. Leo shares the cardiac arrest that nearly ended his life: the ordinary procedure that went wrong, waking up in the ICU with no memory of what had happened, and the surprisingly fast road back. He opens up about the people who carried him, the role his faith played, and the strange night he lay in a hospital bed watching the news. Most of all, he shares what the experience taught him: that the way you recover from life's hardest hits is decided long before they arrive, and that real strength isn't never getting knocked down, it's being ready to rise when you do. An honest conversation about resilience, and about building yourself strong enough in body, mind, and soul to survive whatever comes.

Follow @male.quotient for clips and more.

Black men die years earlier than most other men in America. Not by a little, by 13 years.

Most of the conditions cutting our lives short are preventable, detectable, or manageable. So why isn't that information reaching us?

In this first episode, Dr. Leo introduces the show and the reason he created it. He shares the three men whose absence started all of this: his grandfather, his uncle, and his father. Strong men, gone before they should have been. He explains what "the male quotient" actually means, why a man was never meant to be measured by a single number, and what you can expect from every episode going forward: real medicine, real stories, and one move you can make toward a longer life.

No hype. No shame. No lectures. Just the truth about your health, from someone in your corner.

Follow @male.quotient for clips, tips, and more.

Music track: Lo Flowd by DayFox

Source: https://dayfox.club

Free Background Music for Video | DFC06551
