Rich announces his two-year contract with ESPN ahead of the college basketball season. Following graduation at Syracuse University, Rich grinded his way from part-time jobs near home all the way to Montana before getting hired at a local news station in Tampa, Florida.

That level of determination continued for Rich as a freelancer with ESPN and NFL Network. Rich went deeper into his thought process on creating the Break In & Break Through sportscasting training program during COVID to give back to the next generation.

The first-ever guest on the GDP Podcast is one of the most versatile play-by-play broadcasters of all time, Sean McDonough. The lead voice for the NHL on ESPN and College Football on ABC has done it all in his illustrious career. I've been lucky enough to have him be a mentor of mine during my short time in the industry!

Just a few years after graduating from Syracuse University, McDonough began broadcasting games for the Boston Red Sox at the age of 25. His career then flourished on a national level for CBS, becoming the youngest person to ever call a World Series game.

Episode 1: My Story

From a near five-year hiatus, The GDP Podcast makes its return. Episode 1 explains what to expect in the series by telling my story in the sports broadcast industry thus far.

I hope that through sharing my own highs and lows, it can provide the blueprint for what to expect in this podcast. Coming off the most difficult year of my life, I believe it's important to be transparent about those experiences because maybe it helps another person (or even yourself).

Athletes, coaches, broadcasters, and others in the sports realm all have a unique path. It's my job to help provide context on how they battled adversity to get to their level of success!
