I had the opportunity to speak with Peter McGreggor following his impressive 7th place finish at Unbound XL — a 350-mile, self-supported gravel race through the Flint Hills of Kansas. Earning a top-10 spot in one of the most demanding events on the gravel calendar is a remarkable achievement in itself, but what made Peter’s performance even more noteworthy was the less-than-ideal preparation leading up to the race.

In our conversation, Peter shared insights into his build-up, walked me through his experience racing for over 20 hours, and reflected on the mental and physical challenges of tackling such a monumental effort.

He was incredibly generous with his time, and I think you’ll find his perspective as honest and compelling as I did. I’m hopeful we’ll reconnect later this summer for a follow-up once he’s had more time to reflect on what was truly an extraordinary ride.
