<itunes:title>South Carolina Weather 3/14 - Evening - Sunny Day Stretch Today</itunes:title>

Good evening. South Carolina. I'm Michael Mosby.

Folks, step outside and you might think we skipped straight into May, we're sitting at a gorgeous 78 degrees under mostly clear skies. That's running a solid 27 degrees warmer than usual for mid-March. It's the perfect Saturday to hit the beach at Charleston or catch a game in Greenville. But enjoy it while you can, the atmosphere is loading up for a serious mood swing.

As the sun sets. Here's the heads-up for tonight, while you'll want to keep the windows open for some fresh air. The Lowcountry cools to a mild 57 degrees, the Midlands dip to near 51. Up in the higher elevations. Here comes a low around 48.

Sunday brings the first round of changes, a warm front lifting north sparks scattered showers and thunderstorms statewide. Down in the Lowcountry, expect storms rolling through mainly between 9 A.M. and 3 P.M., with highs reaching 74 degrees. The Midlands see partly sunny skies and a high near 77, but keep an eye on the sky after 1 P.M. For developing storms. Upstate areas hit 70 degrees, with your best chance for rain holding off until the afternoon.

Moving on. Monday is the day to watch closely, a strong cold front races through, bringing damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. The Midlands and Upstate face the greatest risk, highs range from 64 in the Upstate to 73 along the coast. Once that front clears, prepare for a shock. Lows Monday night plummet into the 20s across the Upstate and drop to the low 30s everywhere else.

Looking ahead. Looking at the week ahead. Tuesday brings sunny skies and unseasonably cold air. Highs only reach the upper 40s to low 50s, a hard freeze is likely Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. We warm up significantly by Thursday and Friday, climbing back into the 70s.

I'll be tracking those storms closely. — we'll be back with your next forecast evening.

See you tomorrow.

      <itunes:title>South Carolina Weather 3/10 Morning - Unseasonably Warm</itunes:title>

Good morning. South Carolina. I'm Michael Mosby.

Step outside and you'll feel it, that mild air wrapping around you like a warm blanket. We're sitting at 61 degrees under gray skies, barely budging from last night's low of 58. Spring equinox is 10 days out. And the weather's already rehearsing — we're gaining more than two minutes of daylight every single day now.

A weak storm system is limping through Georgia this morning. Could brush the Upstate and Midlands with scattered showers and maybe a rumble of thunder through mid-morning, but it's fading fast. The real action waits until Thursday.

As the sun sets. Here's the story. Unseasonably warm air is settling in. And it peaks tomorrow. Columbia could touch 85 degrees this afternoon — well above normal for mid-March. The Upstate hits low 80s. The Lowcountry stays cooler in the mid-70s, thanks to that sea breeze off the coast doing its thing. Tonight stays mild statewide, lows in the low 60s.

Wednesday cranks it up even more. The Midlands push toward 88 degrees — flirting with record territory. The Upstate reaches 82. Lowcountry hits 79, we're talking near-record warmth for this time of year.

Then comes the crash. A strong cold front barrels through Thursday morning with widespread showers and storms. Rain could be heavy at times, up to three-quarters of an inch, winds gust to 25 miles an hour. Behind that front, temperatures nosedive. Thursday night lows drop into the upper 30s inland, 40s at the coast. That's a 36 degrees-degree swing in 24 hours.

Friday turns crisp and sunny, highs only in the mid-60s. The weekend rebounds — Saturday brings sunshine and low 70s, but another round of showers arrives Sunday into Monday.

Enjoy the warmth while it lasts.

Looking ahead.

See you this afternoon.

      <itunes:title>South Carolina Weather 3/9 Midday - Special Weather Statement</itunes:title>

Good afternoon. South Carolina. I'm Michael Mosby.

That fog you're squinting through right now? It's not going anywhere until mid-morning. Dense patches rolled in overnight across the Upstate and Midlands, cutting visibility to a quarter mile in spots. If you're driving before 10 A.M., ease off the gas and flip those headlights on. Once the sun climbs higher, it burns off fast.

Then we flip the script entirely. The Midlands hit 82 degrees this afternoon — that's 38 degrees warmer than usual for early March. The Upstate reaches 78, while the Lowcountry tops out at 73 thanks to a sea breeze keeping the coast honest. Mostly sunny skies statewide, with light westerly winds. Perfect weather for a lunchtime walk if you ask me.

Tonight stays mild. Lows around 60 degrees across the board. That patchy fog redevelops after 4 A.M., especially in the Lowcountry and Midlands.

Tuesday brings scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 5 A.M. and 11 A.M. The Midlands see the best chance, peaking around 8 A.M. Expect a tenth to a quarter inch where showers hit. Highs push even warmer — 84 in the Midlands, 81 in the Upstate, 78 along the coast.

Here's what the rest of the week holds. Wednesday turns into the hottest day — the Midlands could hit 87 degrees, flirting with record territory. But that warmth doesn't stick around. A strong cold front arrives Thursday with widespread rain and thunderstorms. Expect a solid soaking, with totals between a quarter and one inch. Behind the front, temperatures crash. Friday's highs only reach the upper 60s, with overnight lows Thursday night dropping into the low 40s inland. The weekend rebounds nicely — sunny skies return Saturday and Sunday, with highs climbing back into the low to mid 70s.

Enjoy the warmth while it lasts.

See you this evening.

Good morning. South Carolina. I'm Michael Mosby.

Step outside right now and you'll feel it — thick, soupy fog blanketing the Midlands and Upstate. Visibility's down to a quarter mile in spots, so take it slow if you're on the roads early. The good news? It burns off by mid-morning as temperatures climb.

And climb they will. We're talking 38 degrees above normal for early March — the kind of warmth that makes you question your calendar. Charleston hits 73 degrees with partly sunny skies. Columbia? A sizzling 82 degrees once the fog clears. The Upstate reaches 78 under mostly sunny skies. Light southwest winds around 5 to 10 miles an hour keep things comfortable.

Tonight stays mild. Lows in the low 60s statewide. That patchy fog could redevelop after midnight, especially along the coast.

Tuesday brings scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the morning. Nothing severe, but you might see brief downpours. Highs push even warmer — mid to upper 80s inland, upper 70s at the coast.

Wednesday is the headline. We're flirting with record highs. Columbia's record is 88 degrees — we're forecast to hit 87. Charleston might reach 78. It'll feel more like late May than early March.

But that warmth doesn't last. A strong cold front crashes the party Thursday, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms. Rain likely throughout the day with highs only in the low 70s. Behind the front, temperatures crash — Thursday night lows drop to the low 40s inland, upper 40s at the coast.

Friday and Saturday turn crisp and pleasant. Sunny skies return with highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s. Perfect weather to enjoy the outdoors.

Enjoy the warmth while it lasts.

Good afternoon. South Carolina. I'm Matt Mullins.

Step outside right now and you're basking in 75 degrees. But. Storms are already rolling through. And we're about to get even warmer before things change.

Up in the Upstate, showers and thunderstorms started this morning. Columbia and the Midlands? Scattered storms fire up around 2 P.M. Down along the coast, you've got sunshine until late afternoon, then storms roll in after 5 P.M. Temperature-wise. Columbia hits 78 degrees — the warmest spot today. The Upstate and Lowcountry both reach 74. Southwest winds gust to 21 miles an hour in the Upstate, breezy elsewhere at 10 to 12.

Tonight, those storms linger through the evening. The coast sees the heaviest action around 10 P.M. With thunderstorms dropping a quarter to half inch of rain. Patchy fog develops statewide overnight. Lows drop to 63 in Columbia, 60 along the coast, 56 in the Upstate.

Now Looking at the week ahead. Monday brings patchy morning fog, then mostly sunny skies. Highs jump to 81 in Columbia, 79 in the Upstate, 76 along the coast.

Tuesday stays warm with highs in the low 80s and a chance for afternoon showers.

Wednesday is the big story. Columbia soars to 87 degrees — we could challenge the record high of 88. The Upstate hits 83, the Lowcountry 77. That's summer-like heat in early March.

Thursday brings a cold front with widespread rain and breezy conditions. Highs drop to the upper 60s to low 70s — a 37 degrees-degree cooldown.

Friday turns cooler and sunny with highs in the mid 60s.

If you're enjoying these daily updates, a quick rating really helps us out.

Good morning. South Carolina. I'm Michael Nally.

Step outside right now and you're feeling 67 degrees. That's not spring warmth — that's summer heat crashing the party in early March. But here's the twist. Storms are coming to spoil it.

The Upstate gets hit first. Showers roll through this morning, building to thunderstorms by 4 P.M. Some could pack a punch — damaging winds and hail possible along I-37. High near 74 before the storms arrive. Tonight drops to 56 as showers taper off by 8 P.M. The Midlands stay drier longer. Partly sunny until around 2 P.M., then rain and storms develop. The heaviest action hits between 2 P.M. and 11 P.M. High near 81 — that's 37 degrees above normal. Tonight settles to 61 with patchy fog rolling in after midnight.

The Lowcountry gets the mildest day. Partly sunny with just a slight chance of storms after 5 P.M. High near 74. The real show holds off until tonight — thunderstorms develop between 6 P.M. and 5 A.M., peaking around 10 P.M. Low near 60.

Monday brings widespread fog early, then mostly sunny skies. Highs climb back to the upper 70s and low 80s. Tuesday stays warm — low to mid 80s — with a 30 percent chance of afternoon showers. Wednesday is the stunner. Highs push near 87 in the Midlands. We could tie records set back in 1974. That's summer heat in early March. Thursday brings the crash — a strong cold front sweeps through with widespread rain and gusty winds. Friday turns beautiful. Sunny skies, mid 60s, much drier air.

One last thing. Spring forward tonight. Clocks move ahead one hour at 2 A.M. You'll lose an hour of sleep, but sunset shifts to after 7:30 P.M. Starting tomorrow.

See you this afternoon.

<itunes:title>South Carolina Weather 3/7 Evening - Spring Fling in March</itunes:title>

Good evening. South Carolina. I'm Michael Nally.

In Step outside right now you’ll feel it, that thick, almost sticky air for early March. We’re waking up to 74 degrees before 8 AM. That’s not just warm for March, that’s record territory. And this heat? It’s not going anywhere fast.

A stalled cold front is creating two completely different worlds across South Carolina. The Lowcountry and Midlands are basking in summer-like warmth, while the Upstate gets a taste of stormy drama.

Down in the Lowcountry—Charleston. Beaufort. Hilton Head—you’re living in a different season. Patchy fog lingers this morning, burning off to reveal mostly sunny skies and a high of 74 degrees. That’s 38 degrees above normal for early March. But don’t get too comfortable: by late afternoon, a few pop-up showers and thunderstorms could roll in, especially between 5 PM and 9 PM. Tonight, more of that damp, muggy air holds with lows at 61 degrees.

The Midlands—Columbia. Aiken. Orangeburg—you’re the hot spot today. Literally. Highs soar to 81 degrees, flirting with the record books. But here’s the twist: while the morning stays dry, storms fire up by 2 PM, peaking in coverage and intensity through the evening. Some could pack gusty winds and heavy downpours. Tonight, storms linger until around 8 PM, then we drop to a balmy 61 degrees.

Now the Upstate—Greenville. Spartanburg. Anderson—you’re the odd one out today. While the rest of the state sweats, you’re dealing with round after round of storms. A few strong ones near Jocassee Gorges could even produce wind gusts up to 40 miles an hour. Highs only reach 74 degrees, which sounds cool compared to the Midlands, but trust me, with all this moisture, it’ll feel warmer. Tonight, storms taper off but dense fog rolls in, with lows near 57 degrees.

Looking ahead, we’re stuck in this unseasonably warm, stormy pattern through midweek. Sunday and Monday bring more storms and highs in the low 80s. Tuesday and Wednesday, the heat peaks with the Midlands hitting the mid-to-upper 80s—near record highs. Then comes the crash. A strong cold front Thursday drops temperatures 38 degrees in a single day. Highs Friday struggle to hit 60.

In That's classic south carolina weather, dramatic and unapologetic. Enjoy the summer preview this week, because by Thursday, you'll be digging for that jacket you just put away.

See you tomorrow.

<itunes:title>South Carolina Weather 3/7 Morning - Foggy Start, Sunny Finish</itunes:title>

Good morning. South Carolina. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside this morning and you might feel like you've walked into a cloud bank. Dense fog advisories are blanketing the Lowcountry and coastal Georgia this morning, with visibility dropping below a quarter mile in spots. That gray shroud hangs over Charleston and Beaufort until about 10 A.M., so if you're driving near the coast, keep those headlights on and take it slow. Even inland near I40 degrees, you're dealing with a misty, cautious commute.

In But here's twist, this fog is just a temporary curtain for a main act that feels like late May. Once that mist burns off. Here comes a serious temperature surge. The Midlands are the big winners today, with Columbia and Augusta hitting a staggering 83 degrees. That's 40 degrees above normal and flirting with record territory. Down in Charleston, you'll top out at 73, while the Upstate climbs to a warm 77. You're gaining nearly 2 and a half minutes of daylight every day now, with sunrise at 6:46 A.M. and sunset at 6:27 P.M., giving you plenty of time to soak in the summer preview.

Tonight, that warmth holds tight. The Lowcountry stays mild with lows near 61, though patchy fog creeps back in after 8 P.M. In the Midlands, a brief isolated shower could pop up around 1 A.M., but most of you stay dry with a low near 63.

Up in Greenville and Spartanburg, the weather turns a bit more active. You've a 40 percent chance of storms firing up by noon, with the best chance of strong gusty winds and heavy downpours arriving after 3 P.M. The rain isn't done there either—another round is likely before 8 A.M. Sunday, so keep that umbrella handy as you head out for breakfast.

Sunday brings scattered storms statewide, but the heat really ramps up Monday and Tuesday. We could hit 86 degrees in the Midlands on Tuesday, challenging records from the 1970s. The bottom falls out on Wednesday, though. A cold front sweeps through, dropping us back to the 60s for Thursday and Friday. That's a 40 degrees-degree crash in 24 hours, so don't get too used to the shorts weather just yet.

Enjoy the warmth while it lasts, but maybe keep a jacket within reach for Thursday. See you tomorrow.

Good morning. South Carolina. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside and you'll feel something unusual. 63 degrees at sunrise. That's not just mild — that's May weather showing up two months early.

Fog is your early morning companion. The Lowcountry stays socked in until 9 A.M. Up in the Midlands, patchy fog clears by 7 A.M. Then the real show begins.

The Midlands lead the charge, soaring to 82 degrees by mid-afternoon. Down along the coast, you'll hit 76 before easing back to 69 by evening. The Upstate climbs to 80. We're running well above normal across the board — this is the kind of warmth that makes you question the calendar.

A few isolated thunderstorms could pop up in the Upstate after noon. The Midlands see a slight chance between 2 and 3 P.M. Nothing severe, but keep an eye on the sky if you're outside.

Tonight stays mild. Lows settle near 60 along the coast, 62 inland. Fog could return after 4 A.M. In the Midlands.

Saturday brings more of the same. Highs reach 75 at the coast, 83 in the Midlands, 78 in the Upstate. Morning fog clears early, then partly sunny skies take over.

Sunday is when things shift. Rain chances ramp up statewide as a weak front moves through. The Upstate sees the best chance — showers and thunderstorms likely. The Midlands and Lowcountry see lower odds but still a possibility. Highs hold in the mid to upper 70s.

Beyond Sunday, expect scattered showers and warm temperatures through Wednesday. Highs stay in the upper 70s to mid 80s — near-record territory for early March.

Perfect weather for an evening walk if you ask me. Just keep an umbrella handy for the weekend.

See you tomorrow.

Good afternoon. South Carolina. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside right now and you'll feel something that has no business being here in early March. We're sitting at 69 degrees. And that's just the appetizer.

In the next 24 hours., A Bermuda High is pumping Gulf warmth straight into the Palmetto State. And upper-level ridging is locking it in. The result? Temperatures running 56 degrees to 56 degrees above normal. This is more like late April than early March.

Charleston tops out near 71 degrees today with mostly sunny skies and a gentle south breeze. Head inland to Columbia and the Midlands. And you're hitting 79 by mid-afternoon. That's shorts and sunglasses weather. The Upstate sees similar warmth — Greenville climbs to 77 with a southwest wind gusting to 18 miles an hour.

Tonight stays mild across the board. Lows drop to the upper 50s and lower 60s statewide. Patchy fog develops after 1 A.M. Along the coast and could stick around into early Friday morning. Give yourself extra time if you're driving near the water.

Friday brings more of the same. Mostly sunny, highs in the low 80s across the Midlands and Upstate, low 70s at the coast. Saturday stays warm with partly sunny skies, though a slight chance of afternoon showers pops up inland.

Sunday's when the pattern shifts. A weak front approaches from the northwest. And rain chances jump to 30 to 60 percent. Showers and thunderstorms become likely during the afternoon and evening. No severe weather expected, but keep the umbrella handy.

Monday through Wednesday, the Bermuda High reasserts itself. Temperatures stay above normal — mid to upper 70s along the coast, low to mid 80s inland. Scattered afternoon showers remain possible, but coverage drops after Monday.

Enjoy the warmth while it lasts. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.

Good morning. South Carolina. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Spring decided to show up three weeks early. We're sitting at 57 degrees right now. And that was our overnight low too. The thermometer just. Stopped moving.

In the next 24 hours. But here's the catch. Dense fog rolled in overnight across the Lowcountry and Pee Dee. Visibility drops to a quarter mile in spots. A Dense Fog Advisory runs until 10 A.M. Take it slow if you're heading out early.

Down in Charleston, that fog hangs around until 11 A.M. Then the sun breaks through and you're climbing to 73 degrees. Tonight brings more patchy fog after 1 A.M., with a low around 59.

Push inland to Columbia and the fog burns off faster, around 8 A.M. Then the real warmth kicks in. You're hitting 80 degrees today. That's 53 degrees above normal for early March. Tonight stays mild at 60.

Up in Greenville, no fog to worry about. Just partly sunny skies and a high near 77. Southwest winds gust to 18 miles an hour this afternoon, so you'll feel that breeze. Tonight drops to 58 under partly cloudy skies.

This unseasonable warmth isn't going anywhere. Friday brings upper 70s to low 80s statewide. A few showers possible in the Upstate by afternoon. The weekend stays warm but rain chances climb, especially Sunday into Monday. Could hear a few rumbles of thunder.

Quick note — we're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Sunrise at 6:49, sunset at 6:25. And tonight? Full moon.

? Not today. Enjoy this preview of April.

Good evening. South Carolina. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Seventy-five degrees right now. In early March. That's roughly 52 degrees above where we should be. If you stepped outside this morning and thought spring arrived early, you're not wrong. We're running well above normal. And the warmth only builds from here.

In the next 24 hours. The headline tonight is fog. Dense fog develops after 8 P.M. Across the Lowcountry and areas south of I-20. Visibilities could drop to a quarter mile or less by early Thursday morning. If you're commuting before 9 A.M. Tomorrow, give yourself extra time.

Down in the Lowcountry, tonight's low sits at 57 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. Fog rolls in after 8 P.M. and lingers through mid-morning Thursday. Tomorrow's high reaches 72.

Head inland to the Midlands and it's even warmer. Tonight drops to 55 with partly cloudy skies. Thursday rockets up to 79 degrees — that's approaching record territory for early March.

Upstate stays pleasant tonight with a low of 52. Thursday brings mostly sunny skies and a high of 76. Southwest winds could gust to 18 miles an hour by afternoon.

Looking ahead, this warm pattern holds straight through the weekend. Highs climb into the low 80s by Friday and Saturday. Rain chances return Sunday and Monday as a front approaches. The best chance for showers and even a few thunderstorms looks to be Sunday into early next week.

One more thing — tonight's Full Moon rises at sunset. If the fog holds off long enough, it should be a beautiful sight.

Good morning. South Carolina. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside right now and you might feel like you're walking on a cloud. Or just inside one. Dense fog has swallowed the state overnight. And it's thick enough that visibility is down to a quarter mile or less in spots. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for the Lowcountry until 9 A.M. Take it slow on the roads this morning, especially if you're heading toward the coast. The good news? This is just a temporary mask.

In the next 24 hours. Once that fog lifts by mid-morning, we're looking at a spectacular afternoon. The Upstate climbs to 74 degrees under mostly sunny skies. The Midlands pushes even warmer, hitting 77. Down in the Lowcountry, expect a high near 70 with partly sunny conditions. And here's the context — we should be in the low 60s for early March. Today's highs are running a solid 46 degrees to 46 degrees above normal. Spring is definitely trying to steal March's thunder tonight.

Lows stay remarkably mild. The Upstate drops to around 52, the Midlands hold at 55. And the Lowcountry only cools to 57 under mostly cloudy skies. Patchy fog could redevelop toward morning. And tonight's full moon might be playing hide and seek behind those clouds.

This warmth isn't going anywhere. Thursday keeps the warm streak alive with the Upstate reaching 77 degrees and the Midlands surging to 80. The Lowcountry sits at a comfortable 71 under mostly sunny skies.

Looking ahead, this pattern locks in through the weekend. Highs climb into the low 80s for the Midlands and Upstate by Friday and Saturday. The Lowcountry stays in the low 70s. Rain chances remain slight through Saturday, then increase Sunday and Monday as a weak front approaches. We're talking a chance of showers and maybe a thunderstorm, but nothing organized.

Spring equinox is just over two weeks away, but judging by this forecast, it looks like it's arriving early.

Step outside right now and you might think spring has already arrived. We're sitting at 51 degrees under gray skies. The overnight low only dropped to 50 degrees. That kind of warmth is unusual for early March.

In the next 24 hours. The headline today is fog and unseasonable heat. Dense fog has developed across the Lowcountry and coastal waters. Give yourself extra time on the roads this morning. That fog should lift by mid-morning.

Once the fog clears, temperatures soar. The Midlands top out near 77 degrees today. That's about 46 degrees above normal for this time of year. The Upstate reaches 74 degrees with mostly sunny skies breaking through. Down in the Lowcountry, coastal influence keeps highs around 70 degrees.

Tonight stays mild. Lows only fall into the mid-50s under mostly cloudy skies. If you step outside after dark, catch the full moon rising through the haze.

Tomorrow brings more of the same. The Midlands could hit 80 degrees. The Upstate climbs to 77. The Lowcountry sits around 71. These are temperatures more typical of mid-April.

Looking ahead, this warm pattern locks in place through the weekend. Highs stay in the 70s and low 80s. Rain chances remain slim until Saturday. Then scattered showers and thunderstorms become possible Sunday into Monday.

Good evening. South Carolina. I'm Jack O'Malley.

Step outside and you might think we skipped a month on the calendar. We're sitting at 63 degrees right now under clear skies. That's running about 47 degrees warmer than usual for early March. Spring is knocking on the door about two weeks early, folks.

In the next 24 hours. Tonight. Fog becomes the main story. The Lowcountry sees areas of fog developing after 1 A.M. As temperatures dip to 55 degrees. Head up to the Midlands and you're looking at patchy fog after 4 A.M. With a low around 48. The Upstate stays mostly cloudy tonight with a low near 47.

Wednesday morning, give yourself extra time for that commute. Fog should burn off by mid-morning. Then we're back to gorgeous conditions. Highs reach 71 in the Lowcountry, 74 in the Upstate. And the Midlands tops out at 77 degrees. That's running 47 degrees to 47 degrees above normal.

Thursday turns even warmer. The Midlands could hit 82 degrees. The Upstate reaches 78, while the Lowcountry sits at a comfortable 72 with that coastal influence.

Looking ahead, this spring preview keeps going. Highs hold in the mid-70s to low 80s through the weekend. Rain chances stay slim until Sunday, when a weak front brings a slight chance of showers.

Tonight's full moon will be something to see if the fog doesn't spoil the view. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Sunrise at 6:52, sunset at 6:23.

Grab that extra jacket before you head out tomorrow morning just in case. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.

Take care

Good morning. South Carolina. I'm Aaron Jolly.

So high pressure is sliding out to sea, but it left behind a parting gift. A cool air wedge is camped over the Upstate, refusing to budge. That's creating a real temperature tug of war across the state today.

In the next 24 hours. Down in the Lowcountry, you're the winner. Mostly sunny, 66 degrees, with a gentle east breeze around 6 to 9 miles an hour. Pleasant stuff. But after 10 P.M., fog starts creeping in. Lows settle near 55 degrees.

Slide up to the Midlands and it's a similar story. Partly sunny, 65 degrees. Light winds. Overnight, patchy fog rolls in as you drop to 48 degrees.

Now the Upstate. That wedge is sitting on you like a wet blanket. Partly sunny but only 58 degrees. Mostly cloudy tonight with lows near 47.

Quick heads up about that fog. South of I-20 especially, it could get dense overnight. Give yourself extra cushion for the Wednesday morning commute. Your headlights won't do you much good if you can't see past the hood.

Now the plot twist. Wednesday, that wedge finally collapses. The Midlands rockets to 77 degrees. The Upstate jumps to 74. Even the Lowcountry hits 71. Morning fog burns off quick. And suddenly it feels like late April.

Looking ahead, this spring preview has legs. Thursday through Saturday, temperatures run 47 degrees to 47 degrees above normal. The Midlands could touch 84 by Friday. Let that sink in. 84 degrees in early March. Rain chances creep back over the weekend as a weak front nudges closer, bringing possible showers and thunderstorms Sunday into Monday.

One more thing worth noting. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight every day now. The spring equinox is just 17 days out. And tonight? A full moon glowing through that fog. Might be worth a look out the window.

For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.

Good morning. South Carolina. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside right now and you're feeling 50 degrees. but South Carolina's about to split down the middle today.

In the next 24 hours., A backdoor cold front is sneaking south from the northeast. It's wedging cooler air in behind it, creating a sharp temperature divide across the state. Think of it like a cold air dam building up against the mountains.

Up in the Upstate, you're getting the full treatment. Clouds thicken early and stick around all day. High near 53 degrees with northeast winds gusting to 25 miles an hour. That's jacket weather, folks. Tonight drops to 43 degrees under those same clouds. Light rain could show up after 1 A.M. Tuesday stays mostly cloudy but warms to 61 degrees.

The Midlands sit in the middle of this divide. Mostly cloudy today with a high near 59 degrees. Winds stay gentle around 8 miles an hour. Tonight dips to 48 degrees. Tuesday climbs to 67 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

Down in the Lowcountry, patchy fog clears before 8 A.M., then partly sunny skies push you to 63 degrees. Northeast winds run 5 to 13 miles an hour. Tonight stays mostly cloudy with a low around 52 degrees. Tuesday turns mostly sunny and hits 66 degrees.

Wednesday everything changes. High pressure slides offshore and warm air floods in. We're talking upper 70s to low 80s Wednesday through the weekend. Humidity rises too. Expect afternoon showers and isolated thunderstorms Thursday through Sunday, with the best rain chances over the weekend.

Spring equinox is just two weeks away. We're gaining 2 minutes of daylight every single day.

Good morning. South Carolina. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside right now and you mightn't see your neighbor's house. Dense fog has draped itself across the state overnight, cutting visibility to a quarter mile or less. A Dense Fog Advisory runs until 10 A.M., so take it slow if you're heading out early. but once that fog burns off? We're in for a stunner.

In the next 24 hours. Here's what happened. High pressure parked overhead last night, letting temperatures drop fast. That cooling air met moisture still hanging around at ground level. and boom — instant fog machine. but the same high pressure giving us fog now is about to flip the script and deliver a gorgeous afternoon.

In the Midlands, fog clears to wall-to-wall sunshine. You'll hit 77 degrees this afternoon. That's 42 degrees warmer than normal for early March. Tonight cools to 47 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

Head north to the Upstate and it's nearly the same story. Sunny with a high near 76 degrees. West winds pick up this afternoon. Tonight drops to 45 degrees with gusts reaching 24 miles an hour.

Down in the Lowcountry, patchy fog lingers until about 9 A.M. Then sunshine breaks through and you'll reach 68 degrees. A bit cooler near the beaches. Tonight's low settles at 50 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

Enjoy today's warmth while you've got it. A backdoor cold front sneaks through tonight. and Monday brings a 42 degrees to 42 degrees temperature crash. You'll only hit the low 50s in the Upstate, mid 50s in the Midlands. and near 60 in the Lowcountry.

The week ahead is a roller coaster. Monday stays cool and cloudy. Tuesday warms gradually. By Wednesday, we're back in the low to mid 70s. Thursday through Saturday climbs into the upper 70s to low 80s, but rain chances return, especially Friday and Saturday.

Spring equinox is just 19 days out. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day.

Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz.

That quarter inch of rain overnight left us wrapped in fog this morning. A cold front slipped south while you slept. and now northeast winds are trapping low clouds across the state. If you're heading out early, slow down. Visibility could drop to a quarter mile before the fog burns off around 9 A.M.

In the next 24 hours. But here's the good news. That stubborn gray blanket tears apart from northwest to southeast by midday. The Upstate sees sunshine first, climbing to 70 degrees. The Midlands hit 68 under partly sunny skies. and the Lowcountry reaches 64 as those clouds finally thin out. Tonight, clear skies and mid-40s statewide.

Sunday is your winner. Westerly winds downslope off the mountains, pushing the Upstate to 76 degrees, the Midlands to 77. and the Lowcountry to 69. That's 37 degrees above normal for late February. Because Monday brings the wedge. A backdoor cold front sweeps south. and temperatures crash 37 degrees to 37 degrees. The Upstate struggles to 52 under gusty northeast winds. The Midlands top out near 57. Only the Lowcountry holds in the low 60s.

The wedge lingers Tuesday, then warmth surges back midweek. By Thursday and Friday, you're looking at upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Rain chances return late week as Gulf moisture flows north.

We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox is just 20 days out.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the South Carolina Weather Podcast — it's Thursday, February 26th.

Step outside and you'll feel 60 degrees under gray skies. Enjoy the calm.. Because a cold front is about to drench the state.

Up in the Upstate, you're already getting wet. Rain peaks around noon with a half to three-quarters of an inch falling. Highs hit 65 degrees with gusts to 26 miles an hour. Tonight the rain backs off and temps drop to 48. Friday dries out nicely with a high near 60.

Push south to the Midlands. Your morning starts with light rain, then thunderstorms fire up by afternoon. The heaviest action hits around 5 P.M. You're looking at a quarter to half an inch today, then another round overnight with patchy fog rolling in. Highs reach 68 with gusts up to 30 miles an hour. Friday stays soggy with a high of 62.

Down in the Lowcountry, you've got the longest dry stretch. Drizzle possible midday, then thunderstorms roll in after 3 P.M. and keep going overnight. The real soaker comes after midnight. Highs hit 64 with gusts to 28 miles an hour. Friday brings more storms and another half to three-quarters of an inch.

One more thing — a Lake Wind Advisory runs from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. for Lake Murray and other central lakes. Gusts to 35 miles an hour will make it rough for small craft.

Here's your week ahead: Rain clears Saturday. Sunday looks gorgeous with sunny skies and low 70s. Another system brings rain chances Monday into Tuesday with cooler air behind it.

We're gaining over two minutes of daylight today. Sunrise at 6:58, sunset at 6:19. Spring is three weeks out.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the South Carolina Weather Podcast — it's Wednesday, February 25th.

Step outside and that southwest wind hits you right away. You're at 38 degrees now, but those gusts are ramping up fast. Winds hit 20 to 30 miles an hour statewide today, strongest in the Upstate where they'll touch 43 degrees. Breezy, but mild. Highs climb to the low 60s under mostly cloudy skies.

Enjoy the quiet.. Because rain's coming.

Down along the Lowcountry, you're looking at 61 degrees today with those southwest gusts hitting 23 miles an hour. Tonight drops to 53. Thursday morning brings a chance of showers after 7 A.M., then showers and thunderstorms roll in Thursday night. Rain continues Friday with the heaviest totals possible — up to three quarters of an inch.

Push inland to the Midlands. High today near 64 degrees. Tonight falls to 52. Rain arrives Thursday with a 70 percent chance, then widespread rain Thursday night into Friday. You could see half to three quarters of an inch before it clears Saturday morning.

Up in the Upstate, you're partly sunny today with a high near 59 degrees. But rain starts earlier for you — a 50 percent chance tonight between 8 P.M. And 6 A.M. Thursday morning. Rain's likely Thursday with up to half an inch possible. The silver lining? This beneficial rain helps our ongoing drought.

Rain clears Saturday morning, then beautiful weather returns. Sunday's sunny with highs in the low 70s. We're gaining over 2 minutes of daylight each day now, with the spring equinox just three weeks away. Next week stays mild with only slight rain chances.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the South Carolina Weather Podcast — it's Tuesday, February 24th.

Step outside right now and that cold air will slap you awake faster than your coffee. We're sitting in the mid-20s statewide — 37 degrees in Charleston, 37 degrees in Columbia, 27 in Greenville. But here's the thing.. This freeze is short-lived.

Down in the Lowcountry, you're waking up to sunshine and crisp air. By 4 PM, you'll hit 51 degrees. Tonight, clouds move in, but it stays dry with lows near 41. Then Wednesday flips the script — 62 degrees under gray skies.

Push inland to the Midlands. And you're following the same pattern. Mostly sunny today with highs near 52, then clouds gather tonight as temps drop to 38. Wednesday brings the warmth — 64 degrees with winds gusting to 24 miles an hour.

Up in the Upstate, you start partly sunny and chilly, topping out at 50. But those winds crank up tonight, gusting to 28 miles an hour. By Wednesday, you're at 60 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

Now here's your heads-up for the rest of the week. A cold front crashes in late Thursday, bringing rain across the state. Friday, the Lowcountry sees showers likely. The Midlands could get thunderstorms. Most areas pick up around three-quarters of an inch. But Sunday? The sun returns. Highs in the 70s for the Lowcountry and Midlands, near 70 in the Upstate.

One bright spot — we're gaining daylight fast. Two minutes and three seconds today. Spring is creeping closer, even if it doesn't feel like it yet.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the South Carolina Weather Podcast — it's Monday, February 23rd. And winter just hit the snooze button one more time.

Step outside right now and you're greeted by 32 degrees and a northwest wind that's making it feel like 20. That 7 A.M. Wind chill? It bites. But here's the plot twist — this cold snap is on borrowed time.

Down in the Lowcountry, you're looking at sunshine but only 46 degrees by 3 P.M. Winds hold steady at 13 miles an hour, keeping those wind chills honest. Tonight drops to 30 degrees by 6 A.M.

Push north to the Midlands and it's nearly identical — 47 degrees by 3 P.M., but winds gust to 16 miles an hour around noon. That's the kind of breeze that finds every gap in your jacket. Lows tonight crash to 27 degrees by 4 A.M.

Up in the Upstate, you're the cold spot today. Just 43 degrees by 2 P.M.. And tonight you're bottoming out at 24 degrees by 4 A.M. If you've got cold-sensitive plants, tonight's the night to cover them.

One critical heads-up — fire danger is elevated today. Gusty winds and humidity dropping to 20 percent means any spark could spread fast. If you're burning anything outdoors, use extreme caution.

Now here's where it gets interesting. Tuesday nudges into the low 50s. Wednesday? We jump to the low 60s. Thursday brings rain and near 70 degrees in the Lowcountry. By the weekend, we're talking mid-60s to low 70s with more showers. This arctic air is temporary — spring-like weather arrives by midweek.

Layer up for today's cold. Charge your phone before you head out — cold batteries drain fast.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the South Carolina Weather Podcast — it's Sunday, February 22nd. If you woke up to rain and 50 degrees, buckle up, because winter just remembered it has a job to do.

A cold front is bulldozing through right now. And it's bringing friends — winds gusting to 40 miles an hour. Strong enough to turn your trash cans into tumbleweeds. The National Weather Service has a Wind Advisory up until 10 P.M., so secure anything that might take flight.

Down in Charleston, you've got a 48 percent chance of showers until 9 A.M., then skies clear fast. You'll hit 61 degrees by 11 A.M., but don't get comfortable. Temperatures nosedive through the 50s by sunset. Tonight drops to 32 degrees, but with winds howling at 16 miles an hour, it'll feel like 24. That's cover-your-plants cold.

Head up to Columbia and the Midlands. And you're looking at a brief rain chance around 6 A.M., then sunshine. Highs hit 56 by late morning before tumbling into the 40s. Tonight bottoms out at 29 degrees with wind chills near 20. Northwest winds keep it feeling raw.

Now the Upstate — Greenville, Spartanburg — you stay dry today, but cold. Highs only reach 50 degrees with steady winds. Tonight you drop to 26, but wind chills hit 22 degrees. That's 22 degrees colder than the thermometer says.

Here's your week ahead. Monday stays brutally cold — upper 40s with frost concerns Monday night. Tuesday warms slightly to the low 50s. Wednesday and Thursday? Big rebound to the mid-60s, but rain returns Thursday. Friday and Saturday stay mild near 65 with scattered showers possible.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the South Carolina Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 17th.

Folks, here's the deal. The Lowcountry woke up feeling like spring today. The Upstate? Not so much. We've got a solid temperature divide across the state, and rain is crashing the party later.

Down along the coast, Charleston and the Lowcountry are the winners today. Highs pushing 70 degrees with light south winds around 6 to 9 miles an hour. Perfect for a morning stroll along the Battery. But you'll want to enjoy it early. Showers are likely rolling in this afternoon.

Drive an hour and a half northwest to Columbia and the Midlands. You're topping out near 66 degrees. Light northeast winds barely registering at 1 to 6 miles an hour. Rain chances are actually higher here. Likely showers by afternoon, so keep that umbrella close.

Now head up to Greenville and the Upstate. Stuck in the low 60s with east winds around 5 miles an hour. A chance of rain keeps things gray and unsettled. Not exactly Saturday cookout weather.

Tonight, scattered showers blanket the whole state. Lows settle into the 50s, with the Upstate dipping slightly cooler. Leave the windows cracked if you like falling asleep to rain.

Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Sunday holds onto that warmth. Then Monday, a cold front sweeps through and drops temperatures back to normal. Midweek dries out nicely. But another system sneaks in by Friday with more rain chances. Also, air quality sits at moderate today, so sensitive groups might want to take it easy outdoors.

One more thing. Sunrise hit at 6:32 this morning. Sunset at 5:20 tonight. We're gaining almost 3 minutes of daylight every day. Spring is coming, y'all.

Alright. If you're enjoying these forecasts, share us with a neighbor. It really does help more folks find us.

Stay safe out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the South Carolina Weather Podcast. It's Friday, February 23rd.

Folks, South Carolina is throwing us a curveball today. The Lowcountry is dodging showers while the rest of the state feels like April showed up two months early. Here's the deal.

Down in Charleston, you're waking up to 61 degrees with a light southwest breeze. Showers could pop up today. Think of it as a coin flip. Nothing dramatic, but toss an umbrella in the car. Tonight those showers fade and you'll settle into the mid 50s.

Now drive an hour and a half northwest to Columbia. Whole different story. Sunny skies and 82 degrees. That's nearly 15 degrees above normal for late February. Your car's steering wheel might actually burn your hands today. Winds out of the west around 10 miles an hour keep it comfortable. Tonight drops to the upper 50s under clear skies.

Up in Greenville, you're seeing 77 degrees with westerly winds pushing 10 to 14 miles an hour. Strong enough to send your neighbor's recycling bin on an adventure. Lows tonight stay mild in the mid 50s.

Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Saturday stays gorgeous. Highs in the 70s and 80s statewide. Perfect for getting outside. Sunday, a weak front sneaks through bringing a slight cooldown and maybe a stray shower along the coast. Nothing worth canceling plans over. Early next week temperatures ease back closer to normal, but we're still talking pleasant. And we're gaining almost 3 minutes of daylight every day now. Evening sunshine is making a comeback.

One more thing. If you're enjoying these daily updates, share us with a friend. Word of mouth keeps this thing going.

Bundle up is the wrong advice today. Slather on sunscreen instead. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
