Today I'll be covering the Victims of the Freeway Phantom from Washington, DC.

Between April 1971 and September 1972, a man was hunting the neighborhoods of Washington, D.C., brazenly abducting, raping, and murdering young black girls and leaving their bodies to be found around the city taunting investigators and terrorizing the community.

This case encompasses more than I could ever cover in this weekly series, but when DC came up, I knew I had to take this chance to highlight the young girls whose lives were stolen and their families who have continued fighting for their justice.
