Shadows of the Moon 🌙

Every mystery has a story. Every story deserves to be heard.

Welcome to Shadows of the Moon, where the unexplained isn't brushed aside, the strange deserves a closer look, and curiosity leads us into the unknown.

I'm Missi, your host and fellow explorer of life's greatest mysteries. I've been fascinated by the paranormal since I was sixteen, and that curiosity has never stopped growing. From encounters that defy explanation to mysteries that refuse to stay buried, there's always another story waiting in the shadows.

Here, we explore the world beyond the ordinary. We're talking ghosts, hauntings, UFOs and UAPs, alien encounters, cryptids, strange disappearances, government secrets, unexplained phenomena, mysterious recordings, and the stories that make you stop what you're doing and ask, "Wait a minute… what if?"

But this isn't a place where every strange light becomes an alien spacecraft or every unexplained sound becomes a ghost. It's a place where we can be fascinated without abandoning reason, question what we're told without automatically believing the alternative, and explore the possibilities without pretending we have all the answers.

First, we tell the story. Then, we investigate.

That's the heart of Shadows of the Moon.

Each episode takes you into the story first, allowing the mystery to unfold before we begin examining the evidence, the witnesses, the theories, and the questions that remain. We'll separate documented facts from witness accounts, explore possible explanations, consider competing theories, and look at what has been confirmed, challenged, dismissed, or left unanswered.

Sometimes the evidence points toward an ordinary explanation. Sometimes the available information leaves us with more questions than answers. And sometimes, the most interesting part of a mystery is discovering just how much we still don't know.

We'll follow the footprints, examine the details, revisit the strange moments, and shine a little light into places where the truth may be hiding—or where the mystery might be even stranger than the original story.

And you won't just be listening from the sidelines. You're part of the investigation, too. Bring your theories, trust your curiosity, question the details, and become one of our armchair detectives. After all, some of the best questions come from people willing to look at a familiar story from an entirely different angle.

We'll also open the door to stories from the shadows themselves, exploring the experiences of people who have witnessed something they can't explain. These are the encounters, strange coincidences, unexplained events, and personal experiences that stay with someone long after the moment has passed.

We may not always agree on what happened. We don't have to. The goal isn't to force an answer or manufacture a conclusion. It's to explore, investigate, learn, and keep asking questions.

Whether you're fascinated by the possibility of life beyond Earth, intrigued by creatures lurking at the edge of the wilderness, captivated by paranormal encounters, or drawn to the mysteries hidden within history, science, consciousness, and the human experience, there's a place for you here.

So dim the lights, settle in, and let your curiosity take the lead.

The truth may be stranger than fiction. The explanation may be closer than we think. Or we may find ourselves standing at the edge of something we don't yet understand.

Whatever we discover, we'll explore it together—with open minds, grounded intuition, and a healthy respect for the difference between what we know and what we only suspect.

I'm Missi, and this is Shadows of the Moon.

Until next time… keep your mind curious, your intuition grounded, and your light burning in the shadows. 🌙

<itunes:title>StrayedAway: The Mystery That Started Shadows of the Moon</itunes:title>

Welcome to The Shadows of the Moon Podcast I’m back! After six or seven years away, I’m finally sitting back behind the mic, and I’m starting with the story that started it all. In March 2018, a guy on Twitter named Ty posted a voicemail that didn’t sound human. Strangers decoded it. Then came the numbers, a pin on a map, a theory about Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, and a deadline: April 18th. In this episode, we walk the trail one footprint at a time: The voicemail and the code hidden inside it The coordinates, MH370, and the black-box theory Diego Garcia and the government-facility rumors Messages in Morse, Latin, Arabic, and number ciphers A deleted Tumblr page with a video-game twist The Pleiadians, and why that one word hit me so hard April 18th, and what it felt like to watch Twitter like a hawk As always, we tell the story first. Then we investigate. We separate what’s confirmed from what’s only claimed. Snopes has rated the story false, calling it a hoax, but “hoax” just raises the next question: whose? I’ll let you decide. snopes A quick note: this is my first episode back, and I’m still shaking the cobwebs off. Please be gentle with me. I promise I’ll find my groove. This has always been a place where nobody walks alone. If you’ve seen something or had something happen to you, there’s no judgment here, and there never will be. Send me your story. Use your name, or stay anonymous, and I’ll share it. Every screenshot, message, and voicemail from this episode is on the Shadows of the Moon Facebook page, so you can look at the clues yourself. Find something today that makes you smile with your eyes.
