Welcome to this week's message from Saint James Glen Iris. In this sermon, we conclude our You're Invited series by asking what does it look like to live a life of invitation and hospitality?

In this final message of the You’re Invited series, we explore three meals that shape the Christian life: eating with the least of these, eating with sinners, and eating with Jesus. As we feast on Christ through his Word and at his table, we are called to open our hearts and homes so that others might encounter Jesus and believe.

You're Invited (Part 8) - Coming to Faith

Mon, 17 Aug 2026 02:30:00 GMT

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

Preacher: Revd Samuel Crane

Romans 10:1-15; Luke 15:1-10

What is the ultimate joy in the Christian life? While life offers many beautiful moments, few compare to witnessing someone come to faith in Jesus—a moment that causes all of heaven to rejoice. In this episode from Saint James Church, we explore the fifth and final threshold of faith: helping people take that ultimate step to cross the line from seeking Jesus to truly trusting Him.

Drawing from Romans 10, this message breaks down the three essential elements needed to guide others on their journey to salvation:

A Heart That Cares: Moving past self-righteousness or spiritual superiority to cultivate genuine empathy and anguish for those living without Christ.
A Message That Saves: Understanding that salvation doesn't come through our own self-made efforts or good works, but solely through the gift of Jesus' righteousness and His sacrifice on the cross.
A Voice That Speaks: Recognising our call to actively share the gospel, because people cannot call on a Saviour they have never heard about.

Whether you are praying for a spouse, a child, a co-worker, or a neighbour, this episode will equip and inspire you to step out in faith, pray boldly, and share the good news so that more lives are transformed for eternity.

Looking at Jesus' encounter with the rich young ruler, we see what it means to be guides to truth. As people start to seek Jesus, we are to help by answering their questions, helping them see their deep need, and how Jesus is the only answer. Sometimes as guides, we even need to let people go on a different path.

Welcome to this week's message from Saint James Glen Iris. In this sermon, we explore what it looks like to live as the bride of Christ. Hospitality is not a gift for some, but obedience for all.

Often, we, the church, are friendly and nice to one another, but true fellowship as siblings goes much deeper in affection and love. The only way we can live out our faith together is to be close in fellowship and intimacy, not standing at arm's length.

Drawing from Romans 12 and 1 Peter 4, we're reminded that God's sacrificial love is to shape the life of his church through genuine relationships, generous hospitality, and practical care for one another.

Discover how opening our homes and sharing our lives can become a powerful witness to the welcoming love of Jesus.
