Welcome to Routinely Random! We are your comrades, Abi and Yassine, now living continents apart, but good friends that came to be from the juxtaposition between the randomness of the human experience and the coincidence of our daily routines. Long story short, we kept randomly running into each other, from coffee shops to walkways, to pools and parks, we eventually realized we were destined to know one another.

In our conversations, we quickly realized our like-mindedness: a wonder for the endless questions of life and a deep gratitude for the simple things. We spoke on topics spanning sociology, psychology, philosophy, medicine, exercise, neuroscience, linguistics, literature, communication, and our personal phenomenology. Intertwined into these heavy and deeply complex spaces, we spoke of our love of travel, the ocean, the joy of befriending strangers, the power of journaling, growing empathy, and the value of a good cappuccino.

Our friendship slowly evolved into an attempt to cross the chasm of randomness and routine, curiosity and the familiar, chaos and control, with the goal of better understanding our inner and outer worlds. Thus, we decided to take our conversations onto the global stage, to create a community of us who would describe ourselves as generalists, eclectics, jack-of-all-trades, and life long learners.
