Your sensitivity is intelligent design, not a flaw to be fixed, but a sophisticated survival strategy and a sacred intelligence that, when trusted, allows you to navigate the world with the privilege of being exactly who you are. Where science meets soul and sensitivity becomes strength. Rise & Realign is a podcast for the old souls, the deep feelers, the women who have always sensed that being different was not a flaw but a signal. If you have ever felt overwhelmed in a world that moves too fast, processed things more deeply than those around you, or wondered why no one else seemed to feel what you feel, you are in the right place.

I am Melissa Jean Paulson, MSW, LICSW a holistic psychotherapist, integrative health clarity consultant, and spiral guide, and this space is for sensitive and strong women who are ready to stop pathologizing their sensitivity and start recognizing it as what it truly is: intelligent design. Here, we explore the high sensitivity trait through the lens of science and soul. We talk about depth of processing, not as a burden, but as the very architecture of your gifts.

We uncover how the overwhelm you feel is not a disorder but a nervous system that is finely tuned, taking in five times more stimuli than the rest of the population. And we walk the path from self-doubt to self-trust, from outsourcing your authority to reclaiming your inner guidance. This is especially for the women breaking old relational patterns and healing the mother line in quiet, powerful ways. The ones who know there is more to their sensitivity than what the world has told them.

Here, you will find:

• Nervous system support for highly sensitive women (HSPs) with high capacity

• Guidance on living with sensory intelligence and depth of processing in a loud, fast world

• Reflections to soften self-criticism and "I should be further along" stories

• Reminders that you are allowed to rest, receive, and be held

Each episode is a field transmission: a resonance of calm and coherence you feel in your body, not just information for your mind. Through my voice and presence, your nervous system is invited to soften, your mind to unwind, and your heart to return to its natural rhythm. This isn't about fixing or improving yourself. It's about remembering: you are not broken, not behind, and not alone. You are simply returning to your own inner alignment, one breath and one episode at a time.

Your wider support circle includes:

• Rise & Realign Letter – weekly reflections and podcast updates on SubStack

• Your Sensitivity Is Intelligent Design 6-Month Re-Alignment Group for sensitive and strong women ready to understand their sensitivity as intentional design, not a flaw

• Sensitivity Re-Alignment Spiral – seasonal threshold gatherings at the solstices and equinoxes

• The Re-Align Circle for Sensitive & Strong Women in their 20s

• Rise & Re-Align Immersive for sensitive women ready to go deeper

• Re-Alignment Sessions – private sessions to pause, breathe, and reconnect with your inner guidance

• The Re-Aligned Journey™ – is the place for women ready to walk the full path home to themselves

Explore everything here: https://realignwithmelissa.com

Take a break and breathe love. ✨Rise.

Last week I paused. Not because I had nothing to say, but because my heart said to tend to myself first. In this episode, I return to the microphone after two weeks of stillness, reflecting on what it means to truly listen to the body's signals and to trust the inner voice that has been guiding me since my spiritual awakening in 2008.

Embracing sensitivity means honoring the sensory intelligent signals we receive and feeling what needs to be felt. As highly sensitive women, our sensitive nervous system takes in five times more stimuli than the rest of the population. When we do not give ourselves space to process, that input compounds and we become waterlogged. But when we pause, breathe, and listen, the body reveals exactly what it is ready to release.

In this conversation I share from my own lived experience of supporting my child through physical pain using sound healing, frequency, and light therapy. I reflect on the bridge between science and soul, drawing from quantum biology, psychoneuroimmunology, biological decoding, astrology, and Human Design to illuminate what the body is communicating. And I remind you that you are not alone if you are waking up to the truth that there is more to your sensitivity than what the world has told you.

What Arose in This Conversation:

The Pause as Practice: Why tending to yourself first is not selfish but essential, especially for highly sensitive women

Embracing Sensitivity as Honoring: Recognizing sensory intelligent signals as guidance, not noise

The Bridge Between Science and Soul: How quantum biology, PNI, biological decoding, astrology, and Human Design converge to illuminate the whole being

Mothering as Mirroring: Supporting my child through pain and recognizing old patterns transforming in real time

Trusting Inner Knowing: Moving beyond outsourcing authority to doctors, professionals, and frameworks that cannot feel what you feel in your own body

Concrete Healing Tools: Sound healing, tuning forks, red and near-infrared light therapy as ways to support the body's natural return to balance

Focus Inward: Why strengthening your focus on one thing at a time matters more than spreading attention across many directions

An Invitation to Carry With You:

Take a break and breathe love. Close your eyes if you are in a safe place. Notice your breath without changing anything. Feel the temperature on the inhale through your nose. Feel the exhale. When you are ready, take a deeper inhale and a slow exhale through your mouth. Place a hand on your heart. Affirm: I am safe. I am supported. I am here. There is nothing to fix. <itunes:title>Ep 41 | Infinite Value: Reclaiming Inner Authority from Inherited Patterns and Spiritual Amnesia</itunes:title>

Last week in Episode 40 we explored Divine Human Beings: Permission to Rest, Discern, and Breathe Love. I reflected on density, disconnection, and the unique soul curriculum that guides each of us, and how judgment and criticism impact sensitive souls more deeply. This week the spiral turns to the vastness of our infinite value. We explore how inherited patterns, cultural conditioning, and what some call spiritual amnesia can cloud our knowing and lead us to defer our inner authority to others. We reflect on the spiral nature of the journey, the wisdom of the nervous system, and why tears are not something to apologize for but a profound release your body is designed for.

In this conversation I share from my own lived experience of questioning and doubting myself, of feeling the weight of judgment from within and without, and of the gradual unwinding of a nervous system that was wound tight for decades. We explore how the realigned journey is not a one-time shift but an ongoing returning. We honor the research of Dr. Elaine Aron, the electromagnetic field of the heart, and the many breathing practices that can serve as anchors throughout your day. The path is not linear. It is a spiral. And every return to the breath brings you back home.

What Arose in This Conversation:

Infinite Value: Your worth is not contingent on upbringing, education, social status, income, or credentials. You are here for your own divine purpose and path.

Spiritual Amnesia: The forgetting of our eternal nature that occurs when we enter these physical forms, and the gradual remembrance that unfolds through the journey.

Inherited Patterns: Genetic makeup, beliefs, level of consciousness, and cultural conditioning passed down through family lines and absorbed in early years.

Deferring Inner Authority: How we unknowingly hand our inner guidance to parents, professionals, and trusted others who cannot know what it feels like to be in our body.

Taking Off the Blinders: The invitation to step back, take a break and breathe love, and see which aspects of daily life are rooted in old patterns that no longer serve.

The Spiral, Not the Line: Why the journey revisits similar experiences on new levels, allowing us to keep processing and evolving rather than moving in one straight direction.

Never Apologize for Crying: Tears as the nervous system communicating, releasing stress hormones, and producing oxytocin. Emotion as energy in motion that has been suppressed, sometimes for decades.

The Re-Aligned Journey as Ongoing: Not a one-time awakening or a course you complete, but a continual returning to what is true for you, one breath at a time.

Breath as Ripple: How taking a break and breathing love not only realigns you with your inner wisdom but creates ripples of love, light, and peace outward to those around you.

No One Right Way: From box breathing to physiological sighs to 4-7-8, the practice that matters most is the one that feels truest for you in each moment.

An Invitation to Carry With You:

Take a break and breathe love. Place at least one hand on your heart. If another part of your body is calling for loving attention, place your other hand there. Take a nice, slow, deep inhale through your nose, no particular count. Exhale long and slow out your mouth. If a double inhale feels right, inhale deeply through the nose, take a second short inhale to expand, then exhale long and slow. You can also let your breath move at its own pace. Notice the sensations in your nostrils, the roof of your mouth, the exhale through your nose. Connect with the divine spark within your heart. Allow love and light to spread throughout all the cells, al

Last week in Episode 39 we explored There Is Nothing to Fix: Feeling to Heal and the Breath as Your Bridge. We reflected on facing our fears and feeling what needs to be felt, and how the breath serves as the bridge between guarded, waterlogged stress states and the coherence and clarity that is always available to us. This week the spiral turns to the vastness of our divine human nature. We explore discerning what is yours versus the collective, the necessity of rest before serving, and returning to the breath as a constant anchor for the sensitive nervous system.

In this conversation we reflect on density, disconnection, and the unique soul curriculum that guides each of us. We honor that sensitive souls often feel judgment and criticism deeply. This space invites you to meet those moments with compassion and to remember that taking a break and breathing love is essential when fear or shame arise. We explore how your body communicates signals through physical sensations, the nervous system, and the breath and why tuning in is your greatest tool for realignment. The path is not linear. It is a spiral. And every return to the breath brings you back home.

What Arose in This Conversation:

Divine Human Beings: Honoring both the measurable, tangible aspects of our human experience and the infinite essence that transcends genetics, body composition, and lived events

Discerning Your Energy: Learning to notice the difference between what we feel as our own versus what may be coming from someone else, the collective, or cosmic shifts

Density and Disconnection: Understanding how heavy, difficult periods can make us feel separate from divine timing, even when connection remains intact

Self-Judgment and Sensitivity: Why highly sensitive individuals feel criticism and judgment more deeply and how to meet those moments with compassion instead of blame

Rest Before Serving: The importance of tending to your needs first, recognizing depletion, and understanding that you cannot pour from an empty cup

Living and Letting Live: A motto for honoring everyone's unique path while protecting your own nervous system and energy

Substance Reliance vs. Natural Support: How highly sensitive women can move toward understanding mind-body communication and developing deeper relationships with their unique bodily needs

The Realigned Journey: An acknowledgment that realignment is ongoing — we keep coming home to ourselves, each day, one breath at a time

I Am Here, I Am Safe, I Am Loved: An anchoring affirmation for moments when life feels dark, heavy, or lonely

An Invitation to Carry With You:

Take a break and breathe love. Rub your hands together and feel the sensation between your palms. Slowly create space between them and tune in - do you feel light waves, electrical pulses, energy in your fingers? Place one hand on your heart and the other wherever your body is calling for contact. Deep inhale through the nose, second inhale lengthening your spine, then exhale long and slow out the mouth. Repeat three or more times. Say to yourself aloud or silently: I am here. I am safe. And I am loved. You do not need to carry it anymore. You are connected, even in the moments when you feel disconnected.

<itunes:title>Ep 39 | There Is Nothing to Fix: Feeling to Heal and the Breath as Your Bridge</itunes:title>

Last week in Episode 38 we explored Quantum Sensitivity: From Mental Loops to Conscious Co-Creation, reflecting on the relationship between body, mind, and spirit, and how so many of us have been living from mental processes that keep us looping. This week the spiral continues as I share more deeply from my own journey, from the initial bliss of spiritual awakening in 2008 to the strong emotions, frustration, and protective patterning that followed. What I have come to understand, through nearly 18 years of walking this path and through the honor of supporting other sensitive women, is that there is nothing wrong with you. There is nothing to fix. Your journey is uniquely yours, and every emotion asking to be felt is part of your soul curriculum.

In this conversation I reflect on what it means to truly face your fears and feel what needs to be felt in order to heal. We explore how the breath serves as the bridge between the guarded, waterlogged states we fall into and the coherence and clarity that is always available to us. We talk about the importance of rest, circadian rhythm, and sleep for the highly sensitive nervous system, and I share practical invitations for weaving "Take a Break and Breathe Love" into the rhythm of your everyday life. The path is not linear. It is a spiral. And every return to the breath brings you back home.

What Arose in This Conversation:

Feel It to Heal It: Why facing our fears and allowing emotion (energy in motion) to complete its cycle is essential for sensitive souls

The Breath Is the Bridge: How constricted breathing keeps us waterlogged, looping, and disconnected from inner guidance, and how conscious breath restores flow

Your Nervous System Is Protecting You: Recognizing the armor, the urgency, and the "voice of protection" as intelligent adaptations, not errors

The Spiral Journey: Circling back to previous experiences with new awareness and new opportunities for integration, not repetition

Rest as Sacred Need: Sleep, circadian alignment, morning sunlight, bare feet on the earth, and micro-pauses throughout the day as non-negotiable foundations for the highly sensitive nervous system

Following Your Own Inner Guidance: Honoring where you are on your unique path, from skepticism to openness, and trusting the signals your high-resolution navigational system sends you

Compounding Stress and the Sensitive Body: How unprocessed input builds over time and impacts physical, mental, relational, and spiritual wellbeing

The Pendulum Returns: Understanding alignment as the gentle swing back to center after activation, and why this return is the practice

An Invitation to Carry With You: Take a break and breathe love. Pause. Notice where your breath may be constricted. Try a double inhale through the nose and a long, slow exhale out the mouth. One is better than none. Three or more will help you feel the release. Bring yourself back to center by placing one hand on your heart and the other wherever your body is calling for attention. Let the exhale carry what is not yours to hold. Let the inhale fill you with light. There is nothing to fix. Only presence, breath, and the gentle return to your own rhythm.

<itunes:title>Ep 38 | Quantum Sensitivity: From Mental Loops to Conscious Co-Creation</itunes:title>

Last week in Episode 37 we explored Quantum Sensitivity as listening to your body's intelligent design amid life's signals. This week the spiral turns toward what happens when the mind won't stop looping and the body keeps calling us home.

I share how quickly everything shifted; the air quality in Gunnison improved, the fires progressed toward containment, and the new moon brought its own recalibration. What felt urgent one day had already changed by the next. And that is the nature of life as a sensitive soul: so much shifting in a short amount of time, especially when we are living from mental planning rather than body wisdom.

In this conversation I reflect on the relationship we have with our mind, our body, and our spirit, and how so many of us have been living from mental processes that keep us looping, waterlogged, and disconnected from the stillness where our inner guidance actually lives. We explore what it means to become a conscious co-creator, why focus matters more than multitasking, and how the practice of taking a break and breathing love is the most powerful return available to us.

What Arose in This Conversation:

From Survival Mode to Safe Mode: How the sympathetic nervous system keeps sensitive women in chronic stress and why moving into safe mode matters every day, multiple times a day

The Waterlogged System: When stimuli and depth of processing compound without enough pause, and how the mind keeps looping without a clear return to stillness

The Relationship Between Mind, Body, and Soul: Understanding that we are so much more than mental processes and physical activity, and that alignment is about tending to all three

Becoming a Conscious Co-Creator: Why focus matters more than multitasking and what it means to true yourself before trying to manifest change

Breaking Out of Old Constructs: Releasing inherited beliefs about what is possible for our finances, our families, and our lives, and seeing contrast as information rather than failure

Gentleness with Yourself: Why highly sensitive women are often their own worst critics and how self-judgment is an invitation to soften

Divine Timing: Honoring that wherever a woman is on her journey, the right information arrives exactly when she is ready to receive it

An Invitation to Carry With You: Take a break and breathe love. Feel the surface beneath you, whether it is the ground beneath your feet or the chair holding your body. Be reminded that you are held. Place one hand on your heart and the other wherever your body is calling for attention. Notice your breath as it is, then deepen your inhale through your nose, take a second inhale to top it off, and exhale long and slow out your mouth. You are receiving love and light on the inhale. You are releasing stress, tension, and anything that is not yours to carry on the exhale. If your body is speaking, simply affirm: I hear you. Thank you. I am safe now. There is nothing to fix. Only presence and listening.

      <itunes:title>Ep 37 | Quantum Sensitivity: Listening to Your Body's Intelligent Design Amid Life's Signals</itunes:title>

Last week in Episode 36 we explored Quantum Sensitivity as reclaiming your rhythm from inherited patterns. This week the spiral turns even more deeply inward.

I'm recording from Gunnison, Colorado, where fires have impacted air quality and my sensitive body has been sending clear signals to depart for realignment. I share how this moment mirrors the teachings I offer: tuning into our sensory intelligence, honoring the voice of protection, and returning again and again to the simple practice of taking a break and breathing love.

In this conversation I reflect on quantum sensitivity as the multidimensional intelligence that bridges the high sensitivity trait with the living sea of consciousness, made of energy, light, frequency, and waves of information. We explore the body's ancient wisdom, ancestral patterns surfacing, health journeys in our twenties and beyond, and the importance of trusting our inner guidance even when medical systems offer limited views.

What Arose in This Conversation:

Quantum Sensitivity as Embodied Wisdom: Honoring the high-resolution navigational system of our nervous system while remembering we live in a greater field of consciousness

The Body's Signals as Intelligent Design: Learning to listen to physical communications rather than fear them or outsource all authority

When Systems Fall Short: Holding space for sensitive souls whose bodies communicate what standard medical assessments may not yet measure

Spiraling Full Circle: Personal echoes from my twenties, supporting loved ones through health challenges, and the non-linear path of realignment

Breath as the Bridge: The power of pausing, placing a hand on the heart, and exhaling long and slow to return to coherence

A Gift for Women in Their Twenties: My Essentials course offered with code ACCESS20S for 48 hours from the publish date/time. An invitation to understand your unique design across mind, body, and soul

Trusting the Inner Voice: Moving beyond old conditioning and fear-based patterns into heart-led presence

An Invitation to Carry With You: Take a break and breathe love. Place a hand on your heart and feel into your body. What is it signaling for you? What is it asking for? More attention, more love, more rest? Breathe in through your nose, honoring your pace, then exhale long and slow out your mouth. That exhale signals to your nervous system: it's okay, you can relax. Release what you don't need to carry in this moment. Remember, you are so much more than what you can see, taste, touch, and hear. There is nothing to fix. Only noticing and listening.

<itunes:title>Ep 36 | Quantum Sensitivity: Reclaiming Your Rhythm from Inherited Patterns</itunes:title>

Last week in Episode 35 we explored Quantum Sensitivity as the bridge where science, soul, and inner knowing converge. This week the spiral turns inward as I share from my own recent experiences with the body’s intelligence, old patterns surfacing, mother-line healing, and the gentle invitation to reclaim our natural rhythm.

In this conversation I reflect on what it means to listen to the body’s ancient wisdom and recognize physical sensations and symptoms as messengers rather than something to fear. We talk about inherited patterns from family lineage, early childhood imprints, and the subconscious programs we’ve carried, and how quantum sensitivity gives us the capacity to feel these layers more deeply so we can finally release them.

I share personal stories of resurfacing symptoms, supporting a loved one through health challenges, and the powerful shift that happens when we meet the body with curiosity and presence instead of old fear based programming. The path is not linear. It is a spiral. And every return to the breath and heart brings us back into coherence with our own soul curriculum.

What Arose in This Conversation:

Quantum Sensitivity as Embodied Wisdom: Tuning into the subtle messages of the body and the energetic layers beyond the visible

Reclaiming Rhythm from Inherited Patterns: Recognizing and releasing ancestral, familial, and early life imprints including mother line healing

The Body Remembers: Viewing physical sensations and old symptoms as opportunities for release rather than threats

Presence Over Fear: Shifting from health scares and old programming into conscious listening and inner authority

The Non-Linear Spiral: Why realignment is a gentle cycling rather than a straight path, and why this is perfect for sensitive souls

Heart-Led Coherence: Returning to breath, mantras, and the knowing that where the heart leads, the body remembers, and the soul awakens

An Invitation to Carry With You: Take a break and breathe love. Rub your hands together to awaken the energy, then place one hand on your heart and the other wherever your body is asking for attention. Offer a double inhale through the nose, then a long, slow exhale through the mouth. With each breath, imagine receiving light and love on the inhale, and releasing what is not yours to carry on the exhale. Let the body soften. Let the rhythm return. There is nothing to fix. Only presence and listening.

<itunes:title>Ep 35 | Quantum Sensitivity: Where Science, Soul, and Your Inner Knowing Converge</itunes:title>

Last week in Episode 34, we explored honoring your sensitivity as a high-resolution navigational system and the simple power of pausing to breathe love. This week, the spiral deepens as I share a download that arrived on Saturday morning: Quantum Sensitivity.

In this conversation, I bridge the scientific understanding of Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS/HSP) with the subtle, energetic, and informational layers of reality that science is now beginning to explore. We talk about what it means to perceive not only what is visible, but also the fields beyond the five senses, the realm where everything is connected through energy, waves, and consciousness.

I reflect on the wide variety of awakening paths we each walk (mental, physical, and soul/spiritual terrain), the conditioning that teaches us to outsource our authority, and the profound relief that comes when we return to our own inner knowing. Quantum Sensitivity, as I’m coming to understand it, is not about being “more advanced” or “superior,” it is about the wholeness of who we are. It is the invitation to honor the depth of processing we carry while also tuning into the heart-brain coherence and infinite intelligence that lives within and around us.

We explore how our sensitivity can feel overwhelming in a world that often operates from a more limited bandwidth, yet how that same sensitivity becomes a gift when we come into right relationship with our mind, body, and soul. This episode is an open-hearted invitation to get curious about your own path, to ask “why?” with wonder instead of shutdown, and to remember that you are a being of love and light having a human experience.

What Arose in This Conversation:

Quantum Sensitivity as Bridge: Moving beyond the visible into the subtle energetic and informational layers, where science and soul meet.

No Single Right Way: The beauty and variety of awakening paths (mental terrain, physical/body wisdom, and soul/spiritual knowing) and why there is no hierarchy among them.

Reclaiming Inner Authority: The conditioning to outsource our knowing to external “experts” and the deep peace that returns when we trust our own inner guidance.

Heart-Brain Coherence & the Breath: How pausing to breathe love helps us move from constriction into expansion and reconnect with the infinite intelligence already within us.

Sensitivity as Wholeness: Exploring whether highly sensitive individuals may be carrying a unique capacity to feel the subtle realms, not as a burden, but as part of our soul’s design and contribution.

Differential Susceptibility & Rising: How the same sensitivity that makes pain land more deeply also gives us the capacity to rise when we come into alignment.

An Invitation to Carry With You: Take a break and breathe love. Rub your hands together slowly, feel the warmth and energy, then place one hand on your heart and the other on your belly (or wherever your body is asking for attention). Inhale deeply through the nose, twice if it feels good, and exhale with a soft sigh or release. Imagine light and love filling your heart space and expanding through every cell. On the exhale, let go of anything that is not yours to carry right now. You are returning to your own inner guidance. It has always been there.

      <itunes:title>Ep 34 | Breathe Love: Honoring Your High-Resolution Navigational System</itunes:title>

Last week in Episode 33, we explored your own soul curriculum and why there is no single right way. This week, we go deeper into what it truly means to honor your sensitive nature as a high-resolution navigational system. I share how your depth of perception and processing is a gift, why others may not see what you see, and how the simple practice of pausing to breathe love helps you return home to your inner guidance, your body, and your true essence.

What Arose in This Conversation:

Sensitivity as a High-Resolution Navigational System: Your sensitivity is intelligent design, not something to fix or tone down. It is an innate, sophisticated way of taking in and processing information that gives you access to subtle cues, deep knowing, and heart wisdom that many others simply do not perceive.

Honoring Your Unique Path: Live and let live becomes essential when you understand that not everyone is operating from the same level of awareness or inner attunement. Your path is yours alone, and it is unfolding exactly as it needs to for your soul’s evolution.

Inner Guidance vs. External Interference: You receive clear signals from your heart, soul, and higher self, yet the sheer volume of data you process can create crossed signals. Awareness of this dynamic is the first step toward realignment.

Old Patterns and the Power of Pause: Many reactions stem from earlier conditioning rather than your true self. By pausing and breathing love, you create space to recognize what is pattern and what is authentic inner knowing.

Breathe Love as a Daily Practice: A simple return to breath and heart space bridges you back to your inner authority, curiosity, and soul’s desires. This practice helps you move from constriction into expansion and remember who you really are.

An Invitation to Carry With You:

Take a break and breathe love. Feel the support beneath you. Place your hand on your heart and reconnect with your inner guidance. When frustration arises because others don’t see what you see, or when old patterns try to pull you away from yourself, pause. Your sensitivity is your gift. Your high-resolution system is here to serve you. Where the heart leads, the body remembers, and the soul awakens.

<itunes:title>Ep 33 | Your Own Soul Curriculum: Why There Is No Single Right Way</itunes:title>

Last week I spoke about waking up to your sensory intelligence and the variety of paths. As someone with an open Head and Ajna in Human Design, and as a Gemini, I’ve come to deeply appreciate the fluidity of perspectives and the truth that there is no single right way, whether we’re talking about diet, career, healing, or how we live our lives.

In this episode, I explore what it means to honor all paths, including your own. As highly sensitive individuals, we often carry a depth of processing that allows us to see, sense, and feel what others may not. This can sometimes lead to frustration when we want to help others see what we see. But the real invitation is to turn that awareness inward, to come back to ourselves, to our own inner guidance, and to what is true for us.

This is the heart of The Re-Aligned Journey™: rising above old patterns and conditioning, reclaiming our voice and natural rhythm, and remembering who we really are. It’s not about fixing ourselves. It’s about returning home to our authentic self, again and again.

What Arose in This Conversation:

Live and Let Live: There is no one right way. Whether we are talking diet, career, or any area where there seems to be an either/or, each of us is here on our own journey with our own soul curriculum.

Coming Home to Yourself: The number one relationship to focus on and develop is the one with yourself. Your body is your best friend; that is who will carry you through every experience. Not to try to fix it, but to reel things back in and connect with your own heart's intelligence and wisdom.

The Brilliance of the Young Sensitive Soul: Supporting younger women is something I feel deeply passionate about. When they say, "I know this is crazy," I tell them, "That is brilliant." I give them the research and the language to understand how what they shared is so powerful. They are the pattern breakers.

We Cannot Drag Somebody Along: Not everyone is operating at the same level of consciousness. That is not something to fix. If there is a pause in a relationship with someone I love deeply, I trust there is a divine purpose for that space.

Alchemizing Old Beliefs: Decades of believing a certain thing do not make it so, except for as long as we are believing it. We can transmute it and focus our attention on a new way.

An Invitation to Carry With You: Take a break and breathe love. When we can be present with whatever the challenge is, whatever is arising, that pause, that stillness, that connecting with your breath helps bridge you with your own heart's intelligence and wisdom. Each of us has our own unique beauty and brilliance. Not everyone we interact with may be operating from the same level of consciousness, and that is not something to fix.

<itunes:title>Ep 32 | Beyond the Old Records: Waking Up to Your Sensory Intelligence and the Variety of Paths</itunes:title>

Last week, Joseph Campbell's words found their groove and kept turning. This conversation continues that thread, going deeper into what keeps us from living as who we truly are, and what becomes possible when the grip loosens.

I trace the arc from early emotional imprints that lodged in her sensitive system, through the 2008 awakening that showed her body a completely different possibility, to the slow, spiraling walk of anchoring that truth into lived experience. This is not a story about a single breakthrough. It is a story about what happens when you stop outsourcing your inner authority, start listening for the quiet compass beneath the old records, and realize that every woman's path to this awakening is unique, unfolding in her own time and way.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Imprint as Operating System. Early emotional experiences, especially those with a strong charge, create deep grooves in the sensitive nervous system. They play like vinyl records beneath awareness, shaping self-perception long after the original moment has passed. As highly sensitive individuals, you absorb five times more stimuli from these encounters, meaning the imprint lands deeper and persists longer.

The Body Remembers Possibility. Melissa shares how, after decades of fatigue, gut distress, and the quiet belief that she was destined to follow her mother's health path, a spiritual awakening in 2008 brought instant vitality. The gut issues dissolved. The exhaustion lifted. This was not a permanent arrival, but it was living proof that the body can shift when the field of awareness opens.

Inner Authority Over Outer Authority. A diagnosis, a research study, a professional opinion: these are information, not verdicts. When you hand your inner knowing to an external source, you miss the enormous wisdom already alive within you. The heart's truth is sometimes quiet, but it is the truest compass you carry.

The Space Between the Therapist and the Soul. For years, I moved between my therapist identity and my spiritual knowing, keeping them in separate rooms. When clients began bringing Human Design, astrology, and soul-level questions into sessions, the separation dissolved. Not through strategy, but through living.

Breath as the Bridge to Discernment. Pausing to breathe is not just a relaxation technique. It is the practice of creating enough space to distinguish between an old imprint replaying and your own inner authority speaking. Rest is part of the equation. Stillness is how the quiet compass becomes audible.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect afterward, what old record has been playing so long you forgot it was not your voice? Where have you outsourced your knowing to an external authority, and what would it feel like to pause long enough for your own inner compass to speak?

Last week’s raw story of boundaries and fresh air opened the door. This week, I follow what arose in the aftermath, a deepening of relationship, resolution of tension, and a return to the core truth that has guided me since my 2008 awakening.

In this conversation, I reflect on the Joseph Campbell quote that has been echoing through me: “The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.” I explore how the endless to-do list becomes a trap of self-abandonment, and how true rest and wisdom are available at every age when we stop tailoring ourselves to the external world.

This episode is for the sensitive woman who is tired of performing or waiting for permission to simply be herself. Together we remember that your high sensitivity is not a flaw but an intelligent navigational system designed to guide you back to your own frequency, where resonance feels like home and dissonance becomes clear.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Privilege of Being Who You Are: Tuning into your unique frequency instead of external expectations

The Trap of the To-Do List: How waiting to “finish everything” keeps us in chronic self-abandonment

Wisdom Across All Ages: Every stage of life holds access to heart wisdom and soul intelligence

Resonance vs Dissonance: Learning to trust your body’s felt sense as a sensitive woman

Your Innate Survival Strategy: Sensitivity as sophisticated guidance back to truth and coherence

An Invitation to Carry With You
Where are you still tailoring yourself to fit? What would it feel like to claim the privilege of being who you are right now, without waiting? Pause, breathe love, and let your body show you.

<itunes:title>Ep 30 | When Peace Is Not Quiet: Boundaries, Fresh Air, and the Sensitive Woman's Voice</itunes:title>

Last week, I shared about dropping the masks and honoring your body's metabolic wisdom. But theory meets reality when life hands you a live demonstration.

This morning, I stepped outside for my morning rituals and was met with cigarette smoke from the neighbor who was smoking in their yard. In that moment, I felt utter frustration and had to choose between being the "peaceful person" I strive to be, and protecting my nervous system and my son from a toxic input.

In this conversation, I share the story of that experience. I speak to the "Peace" pendant I have worn for sixteen years, and how true peace sometimes requires a firm boundary. I reflect on the non-linear journey of the spiral, where seemingly random occurrences are connected and old patterns resurface not to trap us, but to invite us to break them. I also share how my sensory intelligence finally said "no" to a carcinogen, and how speaking up for fresh air is an act of self-honoring, not conflict.

If you have ever felt guilty for speaking up, if you are tired of tolerating "poison" inputs to keep the peace, if you are ready to trust your sensory intelligence and protect your space, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

Sensitivity as Intelligent Design: Your nervous system is not broken. It is designed to notice more, process more deeply, and respond more precisely. When you feel overwhelmed by an environment, it is often a signal that an input is toxic to your system.

Poison vs. Medicine Inputs: In my Essentials Course, I teach about environments that feel like poison versus those that feel like medicine. Cigarette smoke is a poison input for a sensitive system. Honoring your need for fresh air is not selfish. It is essential.

The Non-Linear Spiral: Life is not a straight line. We revisit old patterns and old parts of our story, but each time we have the opportunity to respond differently. The smoke incident was a chance to break a generational pattern of silence. Even when we are stressed and cannot see the connections, all things are linked; these seemingly random moments are breadcrumbs guiding us back to our truth.

Peace Requires Boundaries: You can be grounded in peace and love while still speaking up for your well-being. True peace is not the absence of conflict. It is the alignment of your actions with your truth.

The Peace Pendant: I reflect on the glass pendant I have worn since 2009. It has been a grounding force through my spiritual awakening, my last pregnancy, and my health journey. It reminds me that peace is an internal state that can be protected from the outside.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect on your week, where are you tolerating a "poison" input to keep the peace? Where are you silencing your sensory intelligence to avoid conflict? What would it feel like to speak up for your fresh air, your fresh space, and your own nervous system?

      <itunes:title>Ep 29 | Beyond the Chemical Imbalance: Honoring Your Body's Metabolic Wisdom</itunes:title>

This conversation is a continuation of the journey we began in Episode 28. We spoke about dropping the masks and living as our whole selves. Today, we go deeper into the science and soul of what happens when we stop viewing anxiety and depression as identities, and start seeing them as signals.

For so long, we have been told that our struggles are the result of a chemical imbalance, a flaw in our wiring that requires a pill to fix. But as a sensitive woman who has walked the path from medication-focused psychiatry to integrative mental health and quantum biology, I know this story is incomplete. It is not the whole truth.

In this episode, I share my own lived experience with anxiety, depression, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and the journey of finding what truly works for my body. We explore the groundbreaking work of Dr. Christopher Palmer on brain energy and the importance of mitochondria and metabolic function, and why nutrition, sunlight, and grounding are not just lifestyle choices but essential medicine for the sensitive nervous system.

This is an invitation to stop outsourcing your authority. It is a reminder that there is no one right path for everyone. What works for the 80 percent may not work for your finely tuned system. Your body has a sensory intelligence that knows what it needs. It is time to trust that inner guidance above all else.

What Arose in This Conversation

Anxiety and Depression as Signals, Not Identities: We explore how anxiety and depressive symptoms are often the body's way of communicating that something is out of balance, rather than a permanent label or a character flaw. They are messages to be listened to, not errors to be erased.

The Myth of the Chemical Imbalance: I share why the "chemical imbalance" theory is an oversimplification that ignores the complexity of the human experience. We look at how medication can be a temporary support but is rarely a long-term solution for the sensitive soul.

Mitochondria and Metabolic Function: Drawing on the work of Dr. Christopher Palmer, we discuss how our cells, specifically our mitochondria, are the powerhouses of our mental health. When we understand the role of metabolism, nutrition, and light, we unlock new pathways for healing.

The Sensitive Nervous System Takes in Five Times More: We honor the reality that highly sensitive individuals process stimuli more deeply. What feels like a "big deal" to you is a valid response to a world that is often overwhelming, not a sign that something is wrong with you.

Trusting Your Inner Compass: I invite you to listen to your own felt sense. If a treatment or approach does not resonate, it does not mean you are broken. It means you are discerning. Your truth is the only metric that matters.

The Importance of the Whole Picture: We look at sleep, nutrition, hormones, and environmental factors as the true foundations of mental wellness. Healing is not just about the mind; it is about the body, the environment, and the soul.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect afterward, what story have you been telling yourself about your anxiety or depression? Is it a story of brokenness, or is it a story of a body trying to communicate? What would it feel like to trust your own inner guidance over the standard script? What feels true for you?

<itunes:title>Ep 28 | When the Spiral Speaks: Dropping the Masks and Trusting What Arises</itunes:title>

There are episodes you plan, and then there are episodes that plan you.

This one began with a disruption. Last week, in Episode 27, I spoke about how disruptions are invitations to presence. I shared the Hopi teaching of the two paths and the importance of removing the blinders. And then, on Wednesday, the very day I was supposed to publish that episode, it didn't happen. The podcast failed to publish.

As a Gemini ruled by Mercury, I felt the old pattern of frustration rise. How did this happen? Was it me? Was it the platform? But instead of swimming in that sea of frustration, I laughed. I recognized this as the universe handing me a living lesson in real-time.

What unfolded in this conversation was not a lecture on authenticity, but a living demonstration of it. A spiral through cosmic transits, rejected Human Design charts, locked psychiatric wards, and the quiet recognition that I had been wearing two hats for far too long. This conversation does not arrive at its insight early. It earns it. And perhaps that is the point.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Disruption as Teacher: When the podcast failed to publish, the old pattern of frustration rose and then, within minutes, dissolved. What once would have sent me swimming in a sea of frustration became a moment of grace. A small proof that the nervous system can reorganize itself, given time and awareness.

Uranus Enters Gemini: A 33-year transit that mirrors the Gemini soul's hunger for authenticity. I share my curiosity about what this cosmic shift might be stirring in sensitive souls, not as an astrologer with answers, but as a fellow traveler with questions.

The Chart I Once Rejected: Thirteen years ago, a friend shared my Human Design and I wanted nothing to do with it. Three emotional waves? No, thank you. But time and lived experience softened my resistance, and what once felt like a verdict became a framework for understanding. This is the 3/5 profile in motion: wisdom through the bump, through the trial, through the willingness to be wrong.

From Locked Wards to Living Wisdom: I trace the arc from medication-focused psychiatry to integrative mental health with Dr. Leslie Korn, to quantum biology with Dr. Catherine Clinton. Not as a credential list, but as a story of a sensitive woman who could not keep pretending the body was a machine. Who woke up in 2008 and knew she could not go back.

The Moment the Hats Came Off: Clients started bringing Human Design into therapy sessions, and the separation I had maintained, therapist over here, BG5 consultant over there, began to dissolve. "I'm not wearing two different hats anymore. I'm gonna be myself. My whole self." This is not a conclusion I reached through logic. It is a recognition that arrived through living.

The Breath as Bridge: Mid-conversation, I pause for a heart-breath practice. Not because it is time for the exercise segment, but because the nervous system knows when the field needs to recalibrate. I return to the breath again at the close, inviting you to notice what is here, because there is nothing you need to fix.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect afterward, what arises when you consider the hats you have been wearing? Not the ones that fit, but the ones you keep adjusting, hoping they will someday feel like yours. What would it feel like to set one down, even for a breath?

<itunes:title>Ep 27 | Disruptions as Invitations: Seeing the Gift in the Unplanned</itunes:title>

There are moments when life stops you in your tracks. A shattered glass. A delayed flight. A child needing you when you are rushing out the door. For the sensitive soul, these moments can feel like interruptions to a carefully laid plan. But what if they are not interruptions at all? What if they are invitations?

In this episode, I expand on the ancient Hopi teaching of the two paths, the Head's rigid schedule versus the Heart's fluid rhythm. I share my own journey from saying "I don't have time for this" to recognizing that every disruption is a doorway to presence. Through stories of shattered glass, colorful flies, and the quiet wisdom of the unseen, I invite you to remove the blinders that keep us from seeing the gifts in the unplanned.

This conversation is for the sensitive woman who feels caught between the need for order and the chaos of life. It is an invitation to trust that your finely tuned nervous system is not overreacting, but accurately sensing the intelligent design unfolding around you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Two Paths: The Head wants to control the schedule. The Heart wants to follow the flow. I explore how the tension between these two paths creates the feeling of "not having time," and how shifting to the Heart's guidance changes everything.

The Glass That Shattered: A moment of chaos becomes a moment of connection. When a glass breaks and a child gets hurt, the instinct is to rush. But in the pause, a story emerges. A connection deepens. A lesson is learned. This is the power of staying present with the disruption.

The Fly on the Leg: A small, seemingly annoying insect becomes a symbol of curiosity. Why is this here? What is it revealing? I share how opening to the "why" rather than the "why me" transforms irritation into insight.

The Blinders of Busy: For decades, I lived with blinders on, believing that routine was the only way to survive. I share how I learned to see the limitations of that view and how the unplanned moments became the teachers I needed most.

The Nervous System as Navigator: What feels like a "big deal" to a sensitive nervous system is not an overreaction. It is a signal. It is your body telling you that something needs your attention. Honoring that signal is the first step to realignment.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect afterward, what disruption has shown up in your life recently? Not as a mistake, but as an unexpected visitor. What would it feel like to welcome it, rather than push it away? What is it revealing for your highest and greatest good?

      <itunes:title>Ep 26 | The Two Paths: Choosing the One-Hearted Way in a Two-Hearted World</itunes:title>

In the spring of 2009, shortly after my spiritual awakening, I visited Sedona, Arizona. On a tour bus, a passionate guide shared the ancient Hopi prophecy of the Two Paths. One path is the "Two-Hearted" way: dominated by the head, technology, and separation from nature, leading to destruction. The other is the "One-Hearted" way: dominated by the heart, harmony with natural law, and stewardship, leading to renewal.

In this conversation, I share why this story lit up my soul and how it mirrors the journey of the highly sensitive individual. I speak to the feeling of being "dragged behind" when we live from our head, and the profound shift that happens when we trust the heart's intelligence. I also reflect on my recent return to the Verde Valley, feeling the peace of the land and the weight of its history, and how it deepened my understanding of the choice we face today.

If you have ever felt like your head is moving forward while your body is being dragged behind, if you are tired of overthinking and ready to trust your inner knowing, if you feel called to the "One-Hearted" path of harmony and renewal, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Hopi Prophecy of the Two Paths: The ancient teaching describes a choice between the "Two-Hearted" path (head, technology, separation) and the "One-Hearted" path (heart, nature, harmony). We are currently in a time of choice, transitioning from the 4th world of materialism to the 5th world of renewal.

Living from the Head vs. Living from the Heart: Living from the head often feels like being "dragged behind." It creates a disconnect between our mind and our body. Living from the heart brings coherence, flow, and vitality. The heart has the largest electromagnetic field of the body and sends more messages to the brain than the brain sends to the heart.

The Sensitivity of the Heart: Highly sensitive individuals are uniquely wired to feel the dissonance of the "Two-Hearted" world. Our depth of processing makes us acutely aware of the pain and imbalance in the environment, but it also makes us the first to sense the possibility of renewal.

The Choice Point: We are at a global choice point. The question is not whether we will change, but which path we will choose. Choosing the heart is not about rejecting the mind, but about letting the heart lead.

The Weight of History: Visiting the Verde Valley brought up the trauma of the past (1860s-1870s) and the resilience of the indigenous people. It reminded me that the land holds memory, and that healing is possible when we return to the heart.

Trusting the Inner Knowing: We do not need to figure everything out with our cognitive intelligence. We need to trust the "felt sense," the inner compass that guides us home. This is the essence of the "One-Hearted" way.

The Essentials Course: I share how my new course, "Your Sensitivity Is Intelligent Design," is designed to help sensitive women understand their unique wiring and move from self-abandonment to heart-led living.

As you listen, or as you reflect on your day, which path are you walking today? Are you living from your head, dragging your body behind? Or are you trusting the wisdom of your heart? What would it feel like to take one step onto the "One-Hearted" path, to breathe love, and to let your heart lead the way?

<itunes:title>Ep 25 | Why You Say "Yes" When You Mean "No": Understanding the Sensitive Nervous System</itunes:title>

Many sensitive women refer to their behavior as "people-pleasing," but this label often carries a weight of shame that obscures the truth. In this conversation, I reframe this behavior not as a character flaw, but as a deeply wired survival strategy. It is a nervous system response that once kept you safe, calm, and able to rest in environments where your needs were not met.

I speak to the cost of this strategy: self-abandonment. When we repeatedly say "yes" to others while ignoring our body's signals, we deplete ourselves and lose touch with our own truth. I share my own journey of being recognized for my "selflessness" only to realize I was abandoning my own needs. I also explain how the depth of processing in the highly sensitive nervous system makes us prone to feeling others' experiences as our own, blurring the line between "their need" and "my need."

If you have ever felt confused about why you keep saying "yes" when you want to say "no," if you feel exhausted by the expectation to be selfless, if you are ready to understand the why behind your behavior and reclaim your safety, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

People-Pleasing as a Survival Strategy: For the highly sensitive individual, saying "yes" was often a way to feel safe, calm, and able to rest. It was a protective mechanism, not a moral failing. Understanding this removes the shame and allows for awareness.

The Cost of Self-Abandonment: When we repeatedly prioritize others' needs over our own, we enter a state of depletion. We ignore our body's signals, leading to frustration, irritability, and a loss of connection with our own truth.

The Blur of Empathy: Because of our depth of processing, we feel what others feel. We often mistake their experience for our own, thinking it is our job to fix their reactivity or make them happy. This blurs the boundary between "their frequency" and "our frequency."

The Need for Internal Safety: As long as we seek safety externally by complying with others, we never find true peace. True safety comes from within, from trusting our own nervous system and knowing our own boundaries.

Discernment is Key: Developing discernment allows us to ask: "Am I feeling their experience, or is this mine?" It helps us recognize when we are taking on a burden that is not ours to carry.

The Gift of Sensitivity: Being highly sensitive is not a weakness. It is an intentional design. The depth of caring and the ability to sense subtleties are gifts that require us to reel things back in and honor our own rhythm.

Reclaiming Your "Yes": When we understand the why, we can begin to reclaim our "yes." We can say "yes" from a place of choice and abundance, rather than from a place of fear and obligation.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect on your recent interactions, where did you say "yes" when you meant "no"? What was the feeling underneath that choice? Was it a desire for safety, peace, or rest? What would it feel like to recognize that pattern without judgment, and to ask yourself: "Do I need to carry this, or is this someone else's experience?"

<itunes:title>Ep 24 | What You Give Attention To Grows: Discernment for the Sensitive Soul</itunes:title>

What we give our attention to is what grows. For the highly sensitive individual, this is not just a saying; it is a biological reality. When we are exposed to fear, chaos, or the "darker side" of the news, our finely tuned nervous systems absorb it deeply. But when we give our attention to the soul, to connection, and to the light, that grows too.

In this conversation, I speak to the power of discernment. I share why it is essential to pay attention to how you feel when you are exposed to different energies, whether it is the news, a conversation with a loved one, or the collective atmosphere. I talk about the "culture shock" of living in a space of pure positive love energy and then returning to a world that often operates from fear. I also share why it is okay to be the one who sees the pattern, to step away from conversations that drain you, and to trust your felt sense when something feels "off."

If you have ever felt guilty for turning off the news, if you feel drained after conversations with people who are operating from fear, if you are ready to trust your own frequency and stop absorbing what does not belong to you, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

What We Give Attention To Grows: This is a fundamental law. For the highly sensitive person, the input we take in shapes our nervous system and our reality. Fear fuels fear. Light fuels light. We must be intentional about what we feed our system.

Discernment is a Survival Skill: Discernment is not about being judgmental or closed off. It is about protecting your energy so you can remain open to what is true for you. It is the ability to notice the "tension of fear" in others and choose not to absorb it.

The "Culture Shock" of Awakening: After my spiritual awakening, I experienced a profound shift into pure love energy. Returning to a world that often operates from fear and physical limitation felt like a culture shock. Many awakened souls feel this dissonance.

Trusting the Felt Sense: When someone talks about the news or a fearful event, and it feels "off" to you, trust that feeling. It is your nervous system telling you that this energy is not healthy for you. Honor that disconnect.

The Minority Experience: Highly sensitive individuals are in the minority. Not everyone can go into deep conversations about the soul or the universe. It can feel lonely, but it is not a defect. It is a different frequency.

Coming Home to Your Heart: The antidote to external chaos is not to fight it, but to return to your heart center. The breath is the bridge that brings you back to your own rhythm, your own wisdom, and your own truth.

You Are the Heart of Humanity: Highly sensitive individuals are the heart of humanity because of your capacity to feel deeply and sense what is under the surface. Your depth of caring is a gift, but it requires you to reel it back in so you do not deplete yourself.

No Judgment, Only Choice: There is no judgment for those who are physically focused or who operate from fear. They are on their own path. But you are free to choose your own path, to honor your frequency, and to let others have theirs.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect on your day, where are you giving your attention to something that is depleting you? Where are you ignoring your felt sense because you feel you "should" be listening? What would it feel like to practice discernment today, to step away from the noise, and to trust that your frequency is the most important one to honor?

<itunes:title>Ep 23 | This Pattern Stops Here: Healing the Mother Line and Realigning Relationships</itunes:title>

Relationships are one of the most revealing mirrors for the highly sensitive woman. When we are overloaded, taking in more stimuli and feeling more deeply, we may recognize patterns that others cannot yet see. But the more bogged down we are, the less aware we become of the patterns we are engaged in, the patterns others carry, and the ancestral patterns that are still moving through us.

In this conversation, I speak to the mother line of healing that is being invited at this point in my journey and in the lives of the women I support. I share what it means to be the sensitive woman in your circle who wakes up first, who notices the patterns sooner, and who has the courage to say, "This pattern stops here with me." I also speak to the loneliness that can come when your circle gets smaller, the self-doubt that arises when others cannot receive your truth, and the gratitude that becomes the way through.

If you have ever felt alone in being the one who sees the pattern, if you are navigating the grief of a relationship that no longer serves you, if you are questioning whether you have the right to speak your truth, if you are ready to heal the mother line and put down what was never yours to carry, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

Relationships as a Mirror: As highly sensitive women, our relationships reveal our patterns, our ancestral imprints, and our unhealed wounds. The more overloaded we are, the harder it is to see these patterns. But as we slow down and realign, clarity emerges.

The Mother Line: There is so much that gets passed along the mother line. Mitochondrial DNA, nervous system patterns, beliefs about our worth, and ways of relating. Those of us who are waking up are being invited to heal what has not yet been resolved.

Being the First to Speak: It is not easy to be the one whose voice is spoken first. Not everyone can hear what you have to say. It is not that they don't want to. It is that they just aren't there yet. But your willingness to open your heart and share, even with the possibility of heartache, is a profound act of courage.

When Relationships No Longer Serve You: You may reach a point where you recognize that a relationship is not nurturing you. You are not feeling heard or understood. It is not selfish to say, "This pattern needs to stop, and it stops here with me." Your relationship with you is the number one relationship to nurture.

The Grieving Process: There may be sadness when a relationship changes or ends. There will likely be a point where you question whether you saw things correctly. Should you give it another chance? This is the depth of processing at work. Allow it to fulfill its path. An impulsive decision from a big emotional reaction is not the decision-making moment.

Self-Doubt and the Sensitive Woman: When you speak up and become the impetus for someone else's discomfort, it can put you into a space of self-doubt and questioning. This is especially true for considerate, sensitive souls who are willing to take on more than is their responsibility.

Gratitude as the Way Through: When you are the one speaking up and facing others' discomfort, keep returning to what you are grateful for. Even the smallest things. The bed you sleep on, the roof over your head, the food that nourishes you, the person who smiled at you today. Realigning with gratitude reconnects you with the divine spark within you.

Putting Down What Is Not Yours to Carry: Part of this awakening is to start putting things down that are not yours to carry. Loosening the load. Dropping what does not serve you. You thought you were being helpful, but clearly, you do not need to keep doing that.

The number 22 holds deep meaning for my family. It is a master builder number, about illumination and coming together. But more importantly, it reminds me of my brother, who passed in 1990, and the special place he holds in my heart.

In this episode, I share the story of my spontaneous spiritual awakening in 2008. I was living a materialistic life, checking off the boxes of the American dream, feeling high-strung and unable to change. Then, the veil thinned. I dropped out of my head and into my heart, living in a state of pure, positive love energy for five to six weeks. My body, which had been battling Hashimoto's, IBS, and fatigue, suddenly found peace. I saw that there was no hierarchy of professions or status. We were all souls with a divine spark, walking our unique paths.

I also speak to the journey of my children asking to be homeschooled, a request I never expected but knew was right. I discuss the path of the "Old Soul," the loneliness that can come with awakening, and the realization that sensitivity is not a flaw but an intelligent design. I share how I had to dive deep into the darkness to find the gems, and how I learned that no guru can take you on the inner journey but you.

If you have ever felt like an old soul, if you have experienced a spiritual awakening that left you feeling isolated, if you are ready to trust your own inner guidance and stop looking for external answers, if you are curious about the science and soul of your sensitivity, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Master Builder Number 22: The number 22 is about illumination and coming together. For me, it is a reminder of my brother and the divine purpose we all carry. It signifies the building of a new reality from the inside out.

The 2008 Spiritual Awakening: I was living in a 3D materialistic world until a spontaneous awakening opened me to pure love energy. My thinking mind went quiet. My body healed. I saw that all professions have value and that money does not equal status. We are all here with a divine purpose.

The Call to Homeschool: My children, ages seven and nine, asked to be homeschooled. I had never envisioned this, but in my awakened state, I trusted their inner guidance. I realized I did not have to direct their lives. They had everything they need inside them.

The Path of the Old Soul: Many sensitive individuals are old souls who feel different from their peers. This path often begins with disconnection and ends in deep remembrance of purpose. It can be lonely, but it is a journey of returning to who we truly are.

Sensitivity Is Intelligent Design: We are not broken. We are designed to feel deeply, sense quickly, and bring us back home to our true selves. The high sensitivity trait is an evolutionary strength found in roughly twenty to thirty percent of humans and over one hundred species.

The Dive Deep: After the initial bliss of awakening, I was thrust back into the heaviness of heightened sensitivity. I felt like a mermaid diving deep into the darkness to find the gems. I learned that the challenges were serving a purpose, helping me uncover the jewels of my soul.

No Guru Can Save You: I tried turning to ministers and gurus, but I realized that the inner journey is yours alone. No one else can take you there. You must trust yourself and your own sacred geometry.

Coming Home to Wholeness: Whether you call it mind, body, spirit, or mind, body, heart, and soul, the goal is to understand ourselves in our wholeness. We are souls in human bodies, and our unique experiences are valid and beneficial to the whole.

Companion Blog Article
Highly Sensitive Series (Part 9 of 9): Embodying Your Sensitive Spirit – Living in Flow with Your True Essence (Spirit 3 of 3) read the blog here

In this conversation, I speak to the truth that sensitivity is not a flaw to fix. It is an evolutionary strength, a divine purpose, and a superpower of sensory intelligence. I share why we are not meant to "keep up" with the pace of the majority, but rather to pause, observe, and reflect. I also introduce a new offering, "Rise and Realign Foundations," a gentle starting place for women just beginning to come home to their unique design.

If you have ever felt like you were too much, if you have struggled to understand why life feels so intense, if you are ready to stop pathologizing your depth and start embodying your true essence, if you are curious about a new, gentle way to begin your journey, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

Sensitivity Is an Evolutionary Strength: Science is catching up to what our souls have always known. The high sensitivity trait exists in roughly twenty to thirty percent of humans and over one hundred species for a reason. It is an attunement to life's subtleties, not a defect.

We Are Not Meant to Keep Up: The majority of the population jumps in and acts quickly. Highly sensitive individuals are designed to pause, observe, and reflect. We take in more information and process it more deeply. Trying to match the pace of others leads to exhaustion and health challenges.

The Gift Worth Unwrapping: Sensitivity can feel like a gift and a curse, but it is truly a gift worth unwrapping. It requires time to understand and to learn how to navigate life with our unique sensory intelligence. When we do, we realize we were never too much; we were made for depth.

Leading from the Heart: When we intentionally connect with our heart and breath, coherence opens between our heart and brain. We stop leading from the mind's fear and start leading from the heart's wisdom. We are here to lead from our heart, using our finely tuned nervous system to pick up the subtle signals others miss.

Anxiety and Depression Are Not Who You Are: I share my own history of anxiety and depression, not as a permanent identity, but as periods of time when the stress was high and I lacked understanding. These were not who I was. They were signals that I needed to realign with my true essence.

The Mystery of Life: Life is a mystery. Even the wisest mentors do not have all the answers. As highly sensitive individuals, we are here to ask the big questions, to reflect deeply, and to care profoundly. We are the ones who see the abundance of beauty and the need for healing in the world.

Rise and Realign Foundations: I am quietly creating a new offering, "Rise and Realign Foundations." It is a gentle starting place for sensitive and strong women who are just beginning to come home to themselves. It is designed to provide the right amount of information to understand your design without overwhelming you.

You Are the Mystery: You are not a problem to be solved. You are a mystery to be discovered. Your gifts are needed. Your depth of caring is essential for the evolution and sustainability of our world.

Our nervous systems are constantly interacting with the world around us. The air, the water, the food we eat, the spaces we move through each day. When you have a more finely tuned central nervous system, you may feel those influences much more quickly and more intensely.

This episode is part of Podcasthon, a global initiative where podcasters spotlight nonprofits making a positive difference. This year, I have chosen to highlight Green America, an organization that harnesses economic power to create a more socially just and environmentally sustainable society.

In this conversation, I speak to why environmental health is not separate from mental health. It is one of the foundations of nervous system care. I share how sensitive individuals are the early indicators when something in our environment is out of balance, and how organizations like Green America are working behind the scenes to create healthier conditions for us all. I also talk about Climate Victory Gardens, a simple yet powerful idea where growing food using regenerative practices helps soil capture carbon from the atmosphere.

If you have ever felt overwhelmed by the noise, the light, the chemicals, or the chaotic spaces of modern life, if you have wondered why your body reacts so strongly to environments that others seem fine in, if you care deeply about the health of the planet and the people on it, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

Environmental Health Is Nervous System Health: Mental health is not just thoughts and feelings. It is also how our nervous systems are shaped by the environments we live in. Air quality, chemicals in products, noise, lighting, and the emotional atmosphere of a space all register in the body. For the highly sensitive person, these inputs arrive faster and more intensely.

Sensitivity as an Early Warning System: The high sensitivity trait is not about being too emotional or too dramatic. It is about having a nervous system that takes in more information from the environment and processes it more deeply. This early warning system tells us when something in our surroundings is off.

The Inputs That Affect Us Most: Noise, light, chemicals, temperature, and even the emotional atmosphere of a space can register in the body very fast. Air pollution, mold, cleaning products, pesticides, fluorescent lighting, and constant background noise all activate the stress response. Nature, natural light, and quiet help the system settle.

We Take in the Positive Faster Too: Research shows that highly sensitive individuals also take in the positive effects of healthy environments more quickly. Cleaner air, quieter spaces, contact with nature, and being around others who think in holistic ways all support our vitality more profoundly than they do for those without the trait.

Green America's Mission: Green America harnesses the power of consumers, investors, businesses, and the marketplace to create a socially just and environmentally sustainable society. Their vision is a world where all people have enough, communities are healthy and safe, and the abundance of the earth is preserved for future generations.

Climate Victory Gardens: When people grow food using regenerative practices like organic gardening and healthy soil care, that soil can actually help capture carbon from the atmosphere. Green America has already helped register more than 41,000 of these gardens, from backyards to community plots. Even small actions, like growing herbs in a window box, contribute to healthier environmental systems.

Corporate Accountability: Green America raises awareness about which banks support fossil fuels, which corporations are harming the environment, and what alternatives exis

This is part eight of the Highly Sensitive Series, titled "Accessing Your Deeper Self." It is the second part of the spirit series. In this conversation, I speak to the "vinyl records" playing under the surface of our minds. These are the early programs, the beliefs we absorbed without choosing, and the patterns that direct our lives even when we don't realize it.

Companion Blog Article
Highly Sensitive Series (Part 8 of 9): Accessing the Deeper Self – Healing Through the Subconscious Mind (Spirit Series 2 of 3) Read the blog here

I share my own journey from believing I couldn't change to discovering the power of neuroplasticity, quantum physics, and subconscious healing. I explain why traditional mindset work often isn't enough for the highly sensitive person, who processes deeply and carries old grooves that run for decades. I also introduce the concept of the breath as the bridge, the oscillation between stress and rest, and the importance of clearing out old beliefs to make space for our authentic voice.

If you have ever felt like you are "stuck" in old patterns, if you find yourself reacting in ways that surprise you, if you have been told to "try harder" when you are already doing so much, if you are ready to access the deeper layers of your self and heal from the inside out, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Vinyl Records of the Mind: We all carry early programming that we absorbed as children. For highly sensitive individuals, these patterns are absorbed even more deeply. They play like vinyl records, creating deep grooves that are not easy to lift out of without awareness.

Neuroplasticity and Change: Our brains are malleable. We can change the way we think and the way we approach emotional reactions. I share my experience of training in neuroscience and quantum physics, and how it helped me understand that I didn't have to stay stuck in old beliefs.

The Breath Is the Bridge: The breath is the most essential tool for reconnecting with our deeper self. It signals safety to the nervous system. It moves us from sympathetic dominance (chronic stress) to parasympathetic (rest and digest). It is a small reset that we can implement every day.

Sensitivity Is Not a Barrier: Sensitivity is a gift, but it requires us to pause and unwrap it. It is not a flaw. It is a sensory intelligence that allows us to see more, feel more, and process more deeply. But it also means we take on more responsibility and more stress if we don't tend to ourselves.

The Drive to Make Better Decisions: Highly sensitive women have an innate drive to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. This is part of the survival strategy. But when we are in a chronic stress response, we lose access to our greatest creative potential and our ability to relax.

Subconscious Healing: To truly realign, we must access the subconscious layer. This is where the old beliefs live. Through realignment sessions and integrative intensives, we can clear out what doesn't serve us and realign with our core essence without reliving trauma.

You Don't Have to Try So Hard: If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be: "You don't have to try so hard. Just be you." Highly sensitive individuals often do so much, but they forget to take space to just breathe and be.

Fluidity and Flexibility: Life shifts. Identities change. The more fluid and flexible we can be, the more enjoyable the ride is. We don't need to be hard on ourselves if we get out of the habit. We can recommit and start again.

<itunes:title>Ep 18 | Reconnecting Heart and Spirit: The Journey Home | Highly Sensitive Series</itunes:title>

This is part seven of the Highly Sensitive Series, titled "Reconnecting Heart and Spirit: The Journey Home." It is the first part of the spirit series. In this conversation, I speak to the question many sensitive women ask: "Why do I feel so different? Why am I too much? Why can't I just be normal?"

Companion Blog Article
Highly Sensitive Series (Part 7 of 9): Reconnecting Heart and Spirit – The Journey Home (Spirit Series 1 of 3) read the blog here

I share the truth that the high sensitivity trait is normal yet invisible. It is an innate survival strategy found in roughly twenty to thirty percent of the population. I explain the concept of differential susceptibility: how we excel in supportive environments and struggle in unsupportive ones. I also speak to the full range of our emotional experience, from the highest peaks of awe and appreciation to the deepest valleys of grief and shame, and why trusting ourselves is the most important piece of the journey home.

If you have ever questioned why you feel things so deeply, if you have been told to "get it together" or "be normal," if you are ready to reconnect with your heart and spirit after years of bracing, if you are looking for a space where you do not have to apologize for your sensitivity, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

Normal Yet Invisible: The high sensitivity trait is not a defect. It is a normal, yet invisible, temperament trait. Whether you have it or not, you are normal. But for the twenty to thirty percent who have it, the world feels different. We observe, we pause, we process deeply.

Differential Susceptibility: This is the core of the trait. When we are in healthy, supportive environments, we have the ability to excel above those who do not have the trait. When we are in unsupportive, unacknowledged environments, we struggle more. The environment truly matters.

The Full Range of Emotion: As highly sensitive individuals, we experience the full spectrum of emotion more deeply. We can feel the highest highs of awe and celebration, and the lowest lows of grief and shame. This is not a weakness. It is the capacity of our sensory intelligence.

What Someone Else Thinks Is None of My Business: When we question ourselves, we are often looking outside. But the most important thing is how we view ourselves. If someone else's perspective does not align with our truth, it is a projection of their own level of understanding. It is about them, not us.

The Cost of Bracing: For decades, I lived with a nervous system on high alert. I thought I was just a high-strung person. I didn't realize I was in a chronic sympathetic stress response. This uses up our energy, ages us more quickly, and prevents us from accessing our greatest creative potential.

Reconnecting with the Present Moment: I share my experience of taking three days to relax on a cruise because my nervous system was so stressed. Bringing myself into the present moment was foreign. But when we tend to our daily needs, we can relax, breathe slower, and feel safe.

The Journey Home: The journey home is to know and trust ourselves. It is to understand our neuroanatomy, our mind, our body, and our spirit. It is to realize that we are connected to something greater and that we deserve to tend to our unique needs without permission.

Environmental Factors: We are exposed to more than previous generations. Glyphosate, light pollution, social media, news cycles. As sensitive beings, we experience the impact on our nervous system faster. We must assess our environment and care for our wholeness.

<itunes:title>Ep 17 | Building Physical Resilience as a Sensitive Woman: An Invitation for Women in Their 20s | Highly Sensitive Series</itunes:title>

This is part six of the Highly Sensitive Series, titled "Building Physical Resilience as a Sensitive Woman." It is the final part of the body series. But today, the conversation spiraled into a specific invitation for women in their 20s, a time when many sensitive women are trying to prove they can keep up, build careers, navigate relationships, and question their bodies all at once.

Companion Blog Article
Highly Sensitive Series (Part 6 of 9): Building Physical Resilience as a Sensitive Woman (Body Series 3 of 3) Read the blog here

In this conversation, I speak to the danger of traditional resilience models that rely on pushing limits and powering through. I explain why this approach backfires for the highly sensitive person, whose nervous system is designed for depth of processing, not brute force. I share the metaphor of resilience as a river that flows around obstacles instead of crashing through them. And I introduce the "Sensitive and Strong" circle, a monthly gathering specifically for women in their 20s to find safety, slow down, and connect with other sensitive souls without apology.

If you are in your 20s and feel like you are too much and not enough at the same time, if you are tired of trying to prove you can keep up, if you are navigating the invisible frequencies of the modern world (Wi-Fi, EMFs) and feeling overwhelmed, if you are ready to build resilience without hardening, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

Resilience Is a River, Not a Wall: Traditional approaches to resilience often involve pushing limits. For the highly sensitive person, this backfires. True resilience is like a river. It has tremendous strength, but it flows around obstacles instead of crashing through them. It knows when to rush and when to pool. It knows when to deepen and when to spread wide.

The Danger of Pushing Through: Roughly twenty to thirty percent of the population has the high sensitivity trait. It is an innate survival strategy. When we push through, we ignore our natural rhythm. We exhaust our energy reserves. We create inflammation and dysregulation. We need to honor our unique way of processing.

The Unique Challenges of the 20s: In your 20s, you are often trying to prove you can keep up. You are graduating, building careers, navigating relationships, and questioning your body. You may feel misunderstood by peers who say, "Just go to the gym." But for a sensitive woman, the go-to fix is not always exercise. It is understanding your sensitivity and honoring your rhythm.

The Invisible Frequencies: Your generation is exposed to more than mine was. Wi-Fi, electromagnetic fields, and digital noise are constant inputs. As highly sensitive individuals, we take in not just visual and auditory stimuli, but these invisible frequencies. Understanding how to care for your nervous system in this environment is essential.

Sensitive and Strong: The Re-Align Circle: I am introducing a monthly gathering specifically for women in their 20s. It is a small, intimate space to understand your nervous system, build resilience, practice breath and boundaries, and return to your rhythm. It is not therapy. It is a rhythm-restoring circle where you can be strong without hardening.

Depth of Processing as a Gift: The ability to think about what you just experienced and use that information to make better decisions in the future is a strength. But it can lead to burnout if we do not understand it and reel it back in. We need to tune into our inner communication, not just look outward.

The Relationship with Yourself: The number one relationship to focus on is the one you have with

<itunes:title>Ep 16 | Navigating Your Body's Signals and Needs: The Sensitive Woman with Spark | Highly Sensitive Series</itunes:title>

This is part five of the Highly Sensitive Series, titled "Navigating Your Body's Signals and Needs." It is the second part of the body series, and it speaks to something I see in the women who come to work with me: the sensitive woman with spark.

Companion Blog Article
Highly Sensitive Series (Part 5 of 9): Navigating Your Body's Signals & Needs (Body Series 2 of 3) read the blog here

When you have this depth of processing, this sensory intelligence, and a heart that calls you forward, you take courageous leaps. You move across the country. You follow your dreams. You say yes to aligned action even when you have no idea how it will work out. But here is what we do not always understand: when we take those courageous leaps, our nervous system is still reacting. Over time, that chronic stress builds and builds because it needs time to recover.

In this conversation, I speak to the cascade of reactions that happen in a sensitive body under stress: the nervous system, the stress hormones, the digestion, and the longer recovery time. I share my own journey of being a high-strung individual who thought that was just my nature, not realizing it was dysregulating my nervous system, increasing inflammation, and contributing to an autoimmune condition. And I talk about the "superwoman" pattern, where high capacity means we take on more than our wellness can tolerate, and what is unhealthy becomes our abnormal yet normal.

If you are a highly sensitive woman with a spark, if you take courageous leaps and then find yourself in chronic bracing, if you are wondering why you are not over something yet, if you are ready to understand your body's signals instead of pushing through them, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Cascade of Reactions: Whether it is emotional, physical, or environmental, your nervous system responds with a cascade of reactions. The nervous system, stress hormones, digestion, and recovery time are all affected. This is not a design flaw. It is a very sophisticated way for your body to process information.

Longer Recovery Time: As highly sensitive individuals, our recovery time is often longer than others might need. We may wonder, "Why am I not over this yet?" This is the depth of processing. It is not a weakness. It is the nature of the design.

Sympathetic Dominance and Inflammation: Being in a chronic fight-or-flight state increases inflammation in the body. I share my own experience with Hashimoto's and how being high-strung was not just my personality. It was dysregulating my nervous system, my gut health, and my overall wellness.

The Superwoman Pattern: As highly sensitive women, we have enormous capacity. But that high capacity often means we take on more than our nervous system can tolerate. We stay on top of our career, our home, our finances, our relationships, our children's needs. What is unhealthy becomes our abnormal yet normal.

Sensitivity with Spark: There is a type of sensitive woman who has a spark. Her heart and soul call her toward something. She takes courageous leaps. She follows her dreams. But even when she is following her soul's calling, her nervous system is still reacting. The chronic stress builds because it needs time to recover.

The Reflecting After the Leap: Because of our depth of processing, we can take the courageous step and then the reflecting kicks in. "Was that the right thing to do? How will that affect them?" This deep processing can weigh on us after we have already taken aligned action.

This is part four of the Highly Sensitive Series, titled "Your Body's Unique Response System." It marks the beginning of the body series, moving from the mind to the physical vessel that carries our sensitivity.

Companion Blog Article
Highly Sensitive Series (Part 4 of 9): Your Body's Unique Response System (Body Series 1 of 3) read the blog here

In this conversation, I share my own journey of health challenges, from working in locked psychiatric hospitals at age 19 to realizing that medications were often more problematic than therapeutic for my sensitive system. I talk about the danger of approaching symptoms only from a physical level, missing the deeper communication of the nervous system. I also speak to the power of naturopathic medicine and quantum biology, and the realization that my body is not a machine to be fixed, but a best friend that is always working to bring homeostasis.

If you have ever felt your body was betraying you, if you have been told to "push through" pain or fatigue, if you are ready to stop treating your body like a machine and start listening to its unique messages, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Body Is Your Best Friend: Your body is the one person you are always with. It is your best friend for this lifetime. It is comprised of trillions of cells, each with individual consciousness, always working on your behalf to bring homeostasis and fluidity.

Symptoms Are Messages, Not Malfunctions: When we feel muscle tension, digestive shifts, energy fluctuations, or sleep disruptions, these are not just physical errors. They are communications from a finely tuned nervous system. Approaching them only from a physical level misses the deeper message.

The Danger of Pushing Through: In our culture, we are taught to dismiss physical sensations. We throw over-the-counter medication at symptoms, turn to substances, or just work through the pain. This disconnects us from our body and reinforces the idea that it is a machine.

Depth of Processing in the Body: The core of the high sensitivity trait is depth of processing. We take in more stimuli through all our senses. This means we sense subtleties sooner than others. Muscle tension in the neck, tightness in the chest, shallow breathing. These are subtle signs we can tune into more easily.

Naturopathic Medicine and Quantum Biology: I share my journey of working with a naturopathic physician and training in quantum biology with Dr. Catherine Clinton. This training provided the research that backed what my intuition had been guiding me toward: that the body wants to heal and find harmony.

Modeling Self-Respect: When we trust and respond to our body's needs, we are not just caring for ourselves. We are modeling an important form of self-respect for others. We give a permission slip to other women and sensitive souls to do the same.

The Heart of Who You Are Is Love: We often take love for granted, but it is the core of our being. We give so much love to others, to our families, to our jobs. But we must allow ourselves to receive it. We must breathe in love and exhale tension.

No Blame, Only Awareness: Many of us were raised to treat the body like a machine. There is no blame. But now we have the opportunity to rise up out of those old patterns and realign with the truth of who we are.

I share my own journey of losing my brother and the repetitive thoughts that followed, and how I learned that comparison is not a sin but a presentation of contrast that helps us clarify what truly matters. I also talk about the danger of turning inward and questioning ourselves when others cannot meet us where we are, and why it is essential to trust our own inner guidance.

If you have ever felt that your mind is your enemy, if you are stuck in cycles of rumination or self-judgment, if you feel misunderstood by friends, family, or health professionals, if you are ready to reclaim your mind as a tool for your highest good, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Mind Is Your Ally: There is a view that the mind is the enemy, but for the highly sensitive person, it is a tool for deep processing. Repetitive thoughts are often a recurring message from the heart about what truly matters, not a defect to be fixed.

Comparison Presents Contrast: Comparison is not a sin. It presents us with contrast. It shows us what someone else is experiencing that is different from ours. It is not meant to invalidate our own experiences or judge ourselves, but to help us reflect on what we value as individuals.

The Danger of Turning Inward: When we share our thoughts with someone who cannot meet us where we are, we often turn the confusion inward and question if there is something wrong with us. This is a common trap for the highly sensitive person who feels misunderstood.

Conscientiousness and Depth of Caring: Highly sensitive individuals tend to be conscientious and considerate of others. They think about others' needs and how to meet them, even if those needs are not asked for. This depth of caring is a gift, but it can lead to burnout if not balanced with self-care.

The Interconnectedness of Mind and Body: We cannot talk about the mind without talking about the body. There is no separation. The mind and body are in absolute interconnectedness. What is held in the mind is often held in the fascia and the liquid crystal matrix of the body.

The Importance of Pauses: Pauses are not a luxury. They are essential. If we do not pause, connect with our breath, and bring ourselves into the present moment, peace becomes a distant destination. We need these pauses every day.

Differential Susceptibility and Environment: If we are raised in a loving, supportive environment, navigating the high sensitivity trait is easier. If we are raised in a painful or unsupported environment, more guidance is needed. But regardless of our start, we are worthy and deserving of all the love and support we need.

Honoring Your Unique Journey: No one else has walked the same path as you. No one else was experiencing the same things at the same ages and stages of development. Do not compare your journey to anyone else's.

This episode is part two of the Highly Sensitive Series. It is called "Unraveling Old Beliefs," and it is where I feel my biggest contribution has been. Raising awareness about the high sensitivity trait matters because it gives us the opportunity to reframe our past experiences from a new lens.

Companion Blog Article
For a structured written guide on identifying and transforming limiting beliefs as a highly sensitive woman, including practical steps and reframing practices, read the companion blog post here

In this conversation, I explore how beliefs are formed. I talk about the mitochondrial DNA we inherit from our maternal line, the nine months we spend immersed in our mother's consciousness and nervous system patterns, and the ancestral beliefs that become our starting points before we are even born. I share my own experience of having those old beliefs go silent during my spiritual awakening, only to resurface and require me to walk the path of understanding what was operating beneath the surface.

I also speak to why certain approaches to exploring old beliefs, even heart-centered clinical hypnotherapy, are not always safe for a highly sensitive person with a more finely tuned central nervous system. We must always approach exploration in a way that feels safe and supportive, because we cannot access deeper layers if we are still hypervigilant.

If you find yourself in reactionary modes without question, if you feel disconnected from who you really are, if you are ready to wake up to the beliefs running the show beneath the surface, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

Beliefs Are Formed Before Birth: We inherit beliefs through our ancestral lineage. The mitochondrial DNA comes from our maternal line. During the roughly nine months in our mother's womb, we are immersed in her consciousness, her experiences, her thoughts, her feelings, and her nervous system patterns. These become our starting points before we are even born.

The Resurgence of Old Beliefs: During my spiritual awakening, those old beliefs and that old conditioning went silent. The field of possibilities opened up. My health shifted. But what I then experienced was a resurgence of those old beliefs, and I had to walk the path of understanding how they operate beneath the surface.

Reactionary Modes Mean Beliefs Are Running the Show: When we experience life and find ourselves in reactionary modes without question, life does not feel fun or freeing. We feel disconnected from who we really are. But when we are so conditioned to living that way, we do not necessarily question whether it can be different.

Safety First for the Highly Sensitive Nervous System: I got certified in heart-centered clinical hypnotherapy a few years ago, but I found that for highly sensitive women, that was not always the safest approach. Even with anchoring sessions in place, certain approaches are counterintuitive for someone with a more finely tuned central nervous system. We must always approach exploring old beliefs in a way that feels safe and supportive.

The Breath Creates Space: Many people, even health professionals, do not realize how often they hold their breath or how shallow their breathing is. Nasal breathing and slowing the pace down create the space needed to recognize what beliefs are operating under the surface.

The Mind and Body Are Inseparable: The body is in direct connection and communication with the mind. Old beliefs are not just mental. They live in the body. When we do not have awareness, the body carries what the mind suppresses.

This episode marks the beginning of a special series dedicated to understanding the high sensitivity trait. I speak to the contrast in the world and the importance of tending to our own nervous systems, especially when we are exposed to news and topics designed to induce fear. I share my own journey from being an "overprotective mom" driven by fear to understanding that my high-strung nature was a result of ignoring my body's communication.

Companion Blog Article
Highly Sensitive Series (Part 1 of 9): Embracing the Depths of Your Inner World (Mind Series 1 of 3) Read the blog here

In this conversation, I talk about the power of nature as a healing environment, the critical importance of how you start your day, and why nasal breathing and slow exhalation are essential signals of safety for a sensitive nervous system. I also share my own story of school anxiety and gut issues, and how I wish I had known about the vagus nerve and the power of slowing down back then.

If you have ever felt that you were "too much" or "too sensitive," if you are struggling with chronic anxiety or gut issues, if you feel overwhelmed by the news or the world, if you are ready to start your day in a way that nurtures you instead of depletes you, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

Sensitivity Is a Depth of Processing: Taking in more stimuli and processing it more deeply is not a flaw. It is a sensory intelligence. It means we notice subtleties in our environment and our inner world sooner than others. This depth of processing naturally leads to a depth of caring.

The Overprotective Mom: I share how I started as an overprotective mom, driven by fear, trying to make sure my children were safe. I didn't understand how my nervous system was communicating until I learned to listen. Fear was a strong driving force for a large portion of my life.

The Power of Nature: A positive environment has a huge impact on our felt experience. Nature is healing and peaceful. Wide-open spaces, hiking in a forest, or relaxing at a beach help the nervous system feel safety and calmness. This is not a luxury; it is a necessity for the sensitive soul.

How You Start Your Day: How you start your day is how the rest of the day unfolds. If we do not choose what to give our attention to in the morning, yesterday's information glides right back in, keeping us in the same patterns. We must choose ourselves from the moment we wake up.

The Breath as a Signal of Safety: Nasal breathing oxygenates and hydrates the body. Exhaling slowly out of the mouth signals to the nervous system that it is okay to relax and that we are safe. Many of us hold our breath or brace without knowing it.

School Anxiety and Gut Issues: I share my own experience of almost not graduating high school because of gut issues and anxiety. Back then, doctors gave medication and ordered tests, but no one told me about the vagus nerve or the importance of nasal breathing. We know a lot more these days about what naturally nourishes us.

From Reactive to Creative: When we stay on high alert and avoid painful experiences, we remain reactive. But when we slow down and feel safe, we access the enormous creativity within us. Being a highly sensitive person is not just about challenges; it is about infinite possibilities.

It Is Never Too Late: It is never too late to learn this information. It is never too late to start choosing ourselves. We do not need to abandon ourselves or exclude ourselves to be kind and caring.

<itunes:title>Ep 11 | Breath, Safety, and the Highly Sensitive Nervous System</itunes:title>

The word sensitivity is used in so many different situations, and it is often misunderstood. I have been called to continue talking about this trait for close to fifteen years, teaching about it for over a decade. It started not as a personal exploration, but as a mother trying to understand my second-born, who resisted many things and was difficult to understand. That is when I first learned about raising a spirited child, and later, the research helped me personally.

In this episode, I speak to the unique neuroanatomy of the highly sensitive person. I talk about the difference between introversion and the high sensitivity trait, the fact that roughly twenty to thirty percent of us carry this innate survival strategy, and why living in a performance-based culture keeps our nervous systems in a chronic sympathetic stress response. I share my own experience of hearing "you think too much" or "you are too sensitive," and how I learned to reframe that as "I am highly perceptive" and "I have sensory intelligence."

If you have ever felt unsafe in your own body because no one else understood why you felt things so deeply, if you are constantly scanning for safety in a noisy world, if you are ready to release the bracing pattern and find safety in your own breath, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

Sensitivity Is an Innate Survival Strategy: The sensory processing sensitivity trait is not a flaw. It is an evolutionary design found in over one hundred species. For humans, it is equal between males and females. Roughly seventy percent are introverts, and thirty percent are extroverts. It is a finely tuned central nervous system designed to scan the environment for safety.

The Difference Between Introversion and Sensitivity: While there is overlap, they are not the same. Introversion is about where you get your energy. Sensitivity is about how deeply you process stimuli. You can be an extrovert and highly sensitive. The trait is about depth of processing, not just social preference.

The Performance Culture Trap: Living in a culture that says "push yourself" and "keep moving forward" keeps the nervous system on high alert. For a highly sensitive person, this chronic sympathetic mode is concerning for health. It creates a feeling of being unsafe in our own bodies.

You Are Not Too Sensitive: When people say "you think too much" or "you are too sensitive," they are often projecting their own lack of understanding. I am not too sensitive. I am highly perceptive. I have a sensory intelligence that I am navigating to understand.

Safety Is the Foundation: Before we can heal, we must feel safe. For a highly sensitive person, safety is the prerequisite for feeling heard and met. The breath is the bridge that helps us connect to our unique inner guidance and natural rhythm.

Differential Susceptibility: When we have this trait and are in a healthy, supportive environment, we have the ability to excel. When we are in an unhealthy or toxic environment, we struggle more because we are more responsive to our surroundings.

The Depth of Caring: This trait is a depth of caring. It is a genuine generosity of heart. Highly sensitive individuals have historically served as advisors and priestly advisors because of their ability to see patterns and subtleties.

Releasing the Brace: Many people are unaware of how shallow their breathing is or how frequently they hold their breath. This keeps them in a braced state. For the overwhelmed sensitive person, the first step is to notice the breath and allow the nervous system to relax.

      <itunes:title>Ep 10 | Honoring Your Natural Rhythm</itunes:title>

It is January 7th, and many people are celebrating the change of calendar by setting resolutions and goals. But here is what I want to offer: January 1st is not actually the start of new energy. If we look to what is natural, the Chinese New Year does not fall on January 1st. New birth and new growth happen in March. If we align with what is natural for the earth and for our bodies, the Gregorian calendar does not dictate our rhythm.

In this episode, I speak to the sensitive souls who feel off when the world tells them to set goals and make plans. I share my own experience of being the first in my family to wake up, to question the conditioning, to step into new terrain after my spiritual awakening in 2008. I talk about the two paths people seem to be walking, the field of potentiality that quantum physics speaks to, and why coherence, not force, is what brings about change naturally and effortlessly.

If you have ever felt like you were adopted because you were so different from your family, if you are the first in your circle to question the old patterns, if the idea of writing resolutions feels heavy or forced, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

January 1st Is Not the Start of New Energy: The Gregorian calendar is a constructed timeline. If we align with what is natural for the earth and our bodies, new birth and new growth arrive in spring. Honoring your natural rhythm means paying attention to what feels true for you, not what the calendar dictates.

Resolutions That Feel Heavy vs. Energizing: If writing goals and resolutions excites and energizes you, honor that. But if it feels off, heavy, or forced, that is a cue that your own rhythm is guiding you toward something else. You do not need to force what does not align.

Am I Adopted?: I remember joking with my parents, asking if I was adopted, not because I really thought so, but because I just felt different. There were things I did that were different from my siblings and my friends. It is important to honor what makes each of us unique and not try to fit in in a way that abandons who we truly are.

Being the First to Wake Up: After my spiritual awakening in 2008, I found myself navigating new terrain. A seven-year-old asked to be homeschooled. I stepped into spaces with no conditioning to guide me. It was very challenging and unsettling, especially when I had to explain or defend my choices to people who could not understand. If you are the first in your family line or friend circle to feel that inner calling, you are not alone.

The Two Paths: There are those walking a path still heavily conditioned, without access to the field of potentiality. And there are those expanding into new awareness. This is not a split; we are all connected. But some paths are expanding before others, and that can feel isolating.

What We Give Our Attention to Grows: Quantum physics speaks to a field of potentiality. If we are not raised to look toward what else is possible, we do not expand in that direction. Highly sensitive individuals have the tendency toward higher awareness, but when we are moving so fast and overwhelmed by stimuli, life looks very different than when we slow down.

Coherence Brings Change Naturally: When we breathe a little slower and deeper, connect with our heart and the present moment, our nervous system relaxes. As it feels safer, clarity arises more easily. Coherence is what brings about change naturally and effortlessly. It is not something we were all raised to understand.

<itunes:title>Ep 9 | When Sensitivity Leads the Way: Nervous System Care, Nature, & Inner Guidance</itunes:title>

This recording is on December 31st, the last day of the Gregorian calendar. This time of year can bring up things for all of us, but especially for those of us with a more finely tuned nervous system. We feel more, we sense more, we think on things more. There is just so much that can be overwhelming to our systems during the holidays.

In this episode, I speak to the spiral of healing. I talk about how old memories, emotions, or even physical symptoms resurfacing do not mean there is a problem, but that we are integrating. I share my own journey with Hashimoto's, the decision to stop medication, and the liberation of discovering that the free things; the sun, the fresh air, the earth are often the most powerful medicine. I also speak to the danger of "biohacking" trends like cold exposure if your nervous system is not ready, and the importance of knowing your own capacity before you try to push through.

If you are feeling overwhelmed by the end-of-year noise, if you are trying to figure out what is "right" for your body, if you have been told you are "too sensitive" or "too much," this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Spiral of Healing: When an old memory or emotion comes up, it does not mean there is a problem. It means you are in a cycle of integration. Healing is a spiral. We revisit patterns to witness them with new awareness.

Knowing Thyself is Healing Thyself: We were often raised with incorrect notions about ourselves because we lacked the language for our design. Understanding that we are in the 20 percent with a finely tuned nervous system allows us to reframe our past and our present.

Nature as Free Medicine: The things that are free are often the most exciting and powerful. The sun, the fresh air, the earth. These are not luxuries; they are essential for a sensitive body. We do not need enormous bank accounts to heal; we need to know our body's communication.

Trusting Your Nervous System's Capacity: Cold exposure, biohacking, and intense practices are not safe for everyone. If your nervous system is sympathetic dominant (chronic stress), these practices can be harmful. You must trust your own body's capacity before you try to push through.

The Danger of Outsourcing: We often outsource our authority to family, partners, medical establishments, or trends. But it always has to come back to you. Does it feel true and correct for you? No one else knows what it is like to walk your path.

Social Media and the Inner World: The outer world is a reflection of our inner world. I share how I stopped forcing myself to show up on social media in ways that were not true to me, and how that allowed me to reach the people who are meant to work with me.

There Is No One Right Way: What works for me is ever-changing. What works for one person may not work for another. The only constant is change. We must know ourselves so we can understand what our inner guidance is showing us.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect on this new year, what old pattern or memory is resurfacing for you? Is it a problem, or is it an invitation to integrate? What is one thing your body is telling you that you have been ignoring because you were trying to follow someone else's path? What would it feel like to trust your nervous system's capacity and say "no" to what does not feel right?

There is a striving that comes along with having this design. You can feel when things are off. You can feel the discomfort. You can feel the tension. And from that depth, is what inspires strategic thinking, creativity, and conscientiousness. But we cannot just keep pushing through. We cannot ignore our body's messages just because we feel things so deeply.

In this episode, I speak to the automatic loops that keep us running on pilot. I talk about the tears that are healthy energy in motion, not something to hold back. I share my own story of loss, of a best friend who moved away, of a marriage that ended, and how life revealed a whole new journey after my awakening in 2008. I also share the research from the HeartMath Institute about the heart having the largest electromagnetic field, and why your heart knows before your logical thinking part of you has a clue.

If you have been told you are "too sensitive," if you are grieving a loss or a change in relationship, if you are tired of strategizing how to make things better and just want to breathe, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

Striving vs. Being: We can feel when things are off, and from that depth comes creativity. But we cannot just keep pushing through. We cannot ignore our body's call for attention. We do not need to give more ideas or more consideration to other people. We do not need to give so much that we are depleted and running on automatic pilot.

Tears Are Energy in Motion: When your tears start coming up to the surface, that is a release. That is healthy energy in motion. It is something to honor, to pause, to breathe into. It is not something to apologize for.

Differential Susceptibility: Roughly eighty percent of the population do not have the depth of caring or depth of processing that sensitive beings do. There is no hierarchy. A highly sensitive person can excel when the ingredients are supportive, but could also deal with greater suffering if the ingredients lean in another direction.

Loss and Change: Life can take unexpected twists and turns. I speak of a dear friend who moved away, and of separating from my husband. When things change, as they can and often do, what is important is to know that you still are valued. You still deserve to feel safe and held and heard.

Being Your Own Best Friend: Our body is our best friend because it is the only one we are always with. When we do not pay attention to how we are nurturing the relationship with ourselves, we miss crucial understanding of how our life works. We need to get more comfortable and familiar with ourselves.

Heart Intelligence: The heart has the largest electromagnetic field. It emanates. It is not coming from your head. It is your heart, and it knows before the logical thinking part of you has a clue. Follow your heart.

Safety in Yourself: When we abandon ourselves to keep figuring out things for everybody else, we stay in that pushing, reforming mode. True healing comes from slowing down and connecting with our breath, with our body, and following our heart.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect afterward, where are you still apologizing for your emotions? Where are you still striving to make things better instead of allowing yourself to breathe? What would it feel like to be your own best friend today, to place a hand on your heart, and to remind yourself that you are safe within yourself?

      <itunes:title>Ep 7 | The Depth That Sensitive Hearts Carry</itunes:title>

Today, I am speaking from my heart about the depth of caring that defines the sensitive soul. It is the beautiful, tender, and loving way we experience the world. It is why I call my children "sweetheart," and why I am amazed by how deeply caring my children and the people in my life are.

In this episode, I explore the complexities of being a sensitive soul in a culture that often doesn't understand us. I talk about the coping mechanisms we developed to stay safe, the withdrawal that isn't a flaw but a nervous system signal, and the deep grief and anticipatory sorrow that comes from loving so fiercely. I share my own story of losing my brother at nineteen, the shock that sent me to the depths of pain, and the profound wisdom my mother offered: that she was grateful for the twenty-three years she had with him.

If you are grieving a loss, if you are anticipating a transition, if you feel like you are the only one who feels this deeply, if you have been told you are "too much" or "too emotional," this space is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Depth of Caring: Sensitivity is not a flaw. It is a depth of caring that is beautiful and tender. It is the way we love fiercely and connect deeply. It is equal between males and females, and it is a gift that we grew up in a culture that didn't always honor.

Withdrawal as Safety: When we withdraw or retreat from social gatherings, it is not because there is something wrong with us. It is our nervous system saying, "I am not feeling safe with these people." It is a protective mechanism, not a defect.

No One Knows What It Feels Like to Be You: No one on the planet knows what your nervous system feels like, what thoughts are coming into your mind, or what your unique experience is. No one else has the right to tell you what you should or shouldn't do. Your inner guidance is doing its best to guide you.

Grief and Anticipatory Sorrow: For sensitive souls, grieving and anticipatory sorrow are active and real. When we love so fiercely, it hurts deeply when someone we love is going through a difficult stage or has transitioned. These deep feelings are about devotion. They speak to how deeply we love and how important connection is to us.

Allowing the Tears to Flow: We do not need to wait for someone else to hold the space for us. Being with ourselves, talking out loud, journaling, or recording our voice allows our nervous system to relax and our breathing to deepen. There is great power in our handwriting and our voice.

The Lesson of My Brother: At nineteen, I was completely shocked when my brother died in a motor vehicle accident. I didn't think I would recover. My mother taught me a profound lesson: she was grateful for the twenty-three years she had with him. She chose love and presence. That helped me immensely.

Love Heals and Connects: It doesn't matter whether someone was in our lives for a short time or a long time. It is about the impact they had on our lives. Love heals. Love connects us. Love is alive. We can connect with each other through our hearts, where our memories live.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect afterward, what grief or sorrow are you carrying that you have been trying to push to the side? What would it feel like to allow yourself to feel it fully, to speak it out loud, or to write it down? Who in your life, past or present, has had an impact on your life that you can honor today?

<itunes:title>Ep 6 | When the Body Speaks: Listening Instead of Fixing</itunes:title>

Growing up in the seventies and eighties, the message was clear: if you have a symptom, you go to the doctor, and they tell you what they think it is and what they think will help you. What we were not raised to understand is that what we call symptoms are communication from our body. They are messages for us to tune in and listen to.

In this episode, I share my own journey of learning to listen. I talk about the years I believed my body was betraying me, the infertility, the miscarriages, the extra chromosome, and how those roadblocks were actually my body saying, "Hey, is this really good for you?" I share the story of a doctor who never met me in person but wanted to go into my heart with a camera, and how my body and my voice said no. And I talk about the quantum biology and nature connection that changed everything for me after my awakening in 2008.

If you have ever felt like your body was working against you, if you have outsourced your authority to a professional who does not know your lifestyle, if you are waking up to the realization that your body has been communicating all along, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

Symptoms Are Communication: What we call symptoms are not indications of malfunction. They are messages from the body inviting us to connect more deeply with ourselves. The soul expresses through the body. It helps us ask: Is this really good for me?

My Body Was Not Betraying Me: For years, I believed my body was giving me every roadblock possible. Infertility. Miscarriages. A baby with an extra chromosome. What I eventually came to understand is that my body was communicating. It was not punishing me. It was trying to get my attention.

The Doctor Who Never Met Me: A doctor who had never looked at me or known anything about my lifestyle wanted to go into my heart with a camera and possibly insert a stent while I was under sedation. My body and my voice said no. If I am under sedation, I am not the one choosing. You are. And you do not know enough about me.

Self-Abandonment Creates a Split: When we prioritize other people's needs, a company, a job, or a client over ourselves, we abandon ourselves. A split forms within us. The truest part of us is trying to communicate, but we are not listening.

The Flexner Report and the Shift Away from Nature: In the early 1900s, the Flexner Report shifted medicine away from natural approaches like homeopathy, naturopathic doctors, and chiropractors. It became power and profit based. We are still living in the wake of that shift.

Quantum Biology and the Body's Voltage: Our bodies run on a negative voltage. The sun on our skin and eyes, being barefoot on the earth, hands on a tree. These are not luxuries. They are essential to our vitality. When we are inside all day, we disconnect from the very sources that sustain us.

We Need to Feel to Heal: Density is about what we have been suppressing, what has been frozen within our fascia and the liquid crystal matrix. The more we are willing to soften, the more we are willing to heal. But we need to feel to heal.

Healing Is Not the Easy Path: Being a highly sensitive individual is not an easy path. It is a commitment to bringing yourself back into the moment, honoring your path, your pace, and your purpose. It may feel like you are walking it alone, but you are not.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect afterward, what message has your body been sending you that you have been treating as a malfunction instead of a communication? What would it feel like to pause, connect with your breath, and ask your body: What are you trying to tell me?

<itunes:title>Ep 5 | Softening the Story: Compassion, Sensitivity and Awakening</itunes:title>

Today has been quite an interesting day for me personally. And what I keep coming back to is how my life's journey has been a culmination of what fascinates me, what calls me forward, and what frustration or friction I experience along the way.

In this episode, I explore the shift from "why is this happening to me" to "what is happening within me." I talk about the brick in the backpack we carry when we leave our emotions unprocessed, the mirror neurons that allow us to sense what someone else is feeling before they have the words, and the spontaneous spiritual awakening that changed everything for me seventeen years ago.

I also speak to the differential susceptibility that highly sensitive women carry. When our childhood environment was loving and supportive, it gave us a good foundation. When it wasn't, the path is harder, but it doesn't mean we can't rise up out of those early experiences. The fire of pain can be transformed into a beautiful love and desire to help others heal.

If you have ever felt like you are walking this awakening path alone, if you are the first in your family to question the old patterns, if you are ready to shift the narrative from "things are happening to me" to "things are happening within me," this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

Flipping the Script: The old pattern says, "How could they do that to me?" The awakened perspective asks, "I wonder what led that person to choose that behavior. Is that their own subconscious programming repeating?" This is not about accepting harmful behavior. It is about softening into curiosity instead of hardening into judgment.

The Brick in the Backpack: When we go through an experience and tell ourselves we cannot deal with it now, we carry it forward. Unprocessed emotions become bricks in a backpack. The culture says leave your personal stuff at the door, but that treats us like machines. We are whole beings, mind, body, and soul.

Mirror Neurons and Sensory Intelligence: As highly sensitive women, we have more mirror neurons. We can sense what someone else is feeling before they may even have the words to describe it. This is not a flaw. It is a gift of sensory intelligence. But depending on our upbringing, it may not always feel like a gift.

Differential Susceptibility: Our childhood experiences play a big part in how the trait impacts our health and happiness. A supportive, loving environment gives us a foundation. An unsupported environment makes the path harder. But it does not mean we cannot rise up out of those early experiences.

The Spontaneous Awakening: Seventeen years ago, I had a non-dual awakening that revealed an eternal and abundant connection to all that is. It was not a religious experience. It opened me up to such beauty and benevolence and love and bliss that my life became about understanding what that was and how to connect with it more.

We Are Not Separate: We are not separate within ourselves, and we are not separate from each other. Whether we call it God, the quantum field, universal intelligence, or source, it is flowing to and through all of us. We just were not all raised in a way to tune into it.

The Spiral, Not the Linear Path: Awakening is not something we do once and then we are there forever. It is a spiral. We revisit the same experiences and see them from a new vantage point. Our nervous system is looking to feel safe enough to feel what is coming up. That takes practice and commitment.

Awakening Has No Age Requirement: I hear people say that sensitivity spikes in perimenopause or menopause. There are absolutely shifts during those seasons. But I also support women in their early twenties who are waking up out of old conditioning. This awakening is ha

Ep 4 | Seeing with New Eyes: Rising Above Old Patterns

<itunes:title>Ep 4 | Seeing with New Eyes: Rising Above Old Patterns</itunes:title>

This conversation began with a reflection on judgment. When we do not understand ourselves, and when we are surrounded by others who do not understand themselves, judgment forms. Fear gets tapped into. And when we do not understand why someone else is doing what they do, believing what they believe, or thinking what they think, a divide arises.

In this episode, I share the metaphor of the high-rise building. Imagine we are all born on the ground floor. That is all we can see. But as we move up to the next level of understanding, we gain a new vantage point. We can see the patterns that others are still living in, and we can see where we were living, too.

I talk about the sensory processing sensitivity trait, the gift of taking in five times more stimuli, and the danger of anticipating the needs of others before they even recognize them. I share my own journey from putting everyone else before myself to realizing that meeting other people's needs was actually inhibiting their development.

If you have ever felt judged for being "too much," if you have been the one to anticipate everyone else's needs, if you are waking up to the patterns you inherited from your family, this space is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The High-Rise Building Metaphor: We are all born on the ground level of our consciousness. That is all we can see. As we evolve and move up a level, we gain a new vantage point. We can see the patterns we were living in, and the patterns others are still living in. It is not about being better; it is about seeing more.

The Gift of Sensory Intelligence: Highly sensitive women take in five times more stimuli in the common five senses, and even more through thirty-plus senses. This is not a malfunction. It is a finely tuned central nervous system and a unique neuroanatomy designed for deep processing and empathy.

Anticipating Needs vs. Meeting Needs: For years, I anticipated the needs of others before they even recognized them. I thought this was love. I learned it was actually inhibiting their development. When we meet everyone else's needs before our own, we give from a depleted state and prevent others from learning to advocate for themselves.

Judgment as a Lack of Understanding: Judgment arises from a lack of understanding. When we wake up and see from a higher level, we can come from compassion rather than blame. We can support others in their process without judging where they are on their path.

The Unexpected as a Teacher: Life works in real time. The unexpected shows up. A notification from a guest spot reminded me of a conversation about Human Design. Those sensations and surprises become our greater teachers, helping us realize what we needed to learn in that moment.

Gratitude as a Frequency: Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, but gratitude is a daily practice. The more we tune into the frequency of gratitude, the more we draw experiences to see the good in ourselves, in others, and in the world. Your voice matters. Your feelings have value.

Oscillation Between Stress and Rest: Stress is not something to fear, but it is something to understand. There needs to be a healthy oscillation between stressful experiences and restful experiences. We cannot live only on the restful side, but we can learn to appreciate the clues that stress gives us.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect afterward, what patterns are you seeing now that you could not see from the ground floor? Where are you anticipating the needs of others before they even ask? What would it feel like to pause, connect with your breath, and let someone else meet their own need for a moment?

<itunes:title>Ep 3 | New Moon Clearing: Sensitivity, Truth, and the Waters Within</itunes:title>

This recording is about ten hours before the new moon, and it has brought up a lot for me personally in the past forty hours or so.

As sensitive women, we may not always be aware of how the lunar phases are influencing us. I know I wasn't for most of my life. But when I began to understand that our bodies are roughly seventy percent water, and the planet is covered in roughly seventy percent water, and the moon influences the waters, a question arose: Why wouldn't we acknowledge that the moon is also influencing our human form?

In this episode, I share what the new moon is really offering us. Not as something to fear, but as a clearing. A movement of the waters within us to help us release what has been creating interference in our authentic expression. I talk about my own Human Design moon sign, the gate of the fighter, and how I learned to stop shutting down discomfort and start getting curious about what was ready to be released.

If you have ever felt heightened sensitivity around the new moon, if you have been told you are "too emotional" or "too intense," if you are waking up to where you have been giving your authority away, this conversation is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Moon Moves the Waters Within: Our bodies are roughly seventy percent water. The moon influences the tides. As sensitive women, we are the ones who can tap into this understanding, often before we are even consciously aware it is speaking to us.

The New Moon as Clearing: The new moon is not something to fear. It is an invitation to tune in and ask: What is ready to arise? What is ready to be released? It is about realigning with your truth, your authentic voice, and the wholeness of who you are.

The Gate of the Fighter: My moon sign in Human Design is the gate of the fighter. When I first heard my chart, I was told I had a "channel of struggle," and I did not want to hear it. But over time, I came to understand that the fighter is about what you find meaning in, what you value, what is worth standing for.

Getting Curious Instead of Shutting Down: My old pattern was to shut down discomfort. If someone caused me discomfort, I wanted them out of my life. But as I woke up, I learned to be curious: What moment did I feel that sensation? What is coming up? What is being cleared through this?

What Someone Else Thinks of Me Is None of My Business: Anyone else's judgment is about them. But if I become aware that I responded to something someone said, that is my business. Something came up within me, and that means it is within me to meet.

Outsourcing Our Authority: We are raised in a culture that teaches us to give our authority away. Obey your parents. Listen to the teacher. Trust the doctor. We are not typically raised to honor our own internal voice. But as we wake up, we begin to ask: Where am I giving my power away, and why?

High Strung or Highly Sensitive: When the sympathetic nervous system is chronically activated and we do not have enough time in the relaxation response, our true gifts cannot fully be embraced. There is so much overstimulation happening that we experience what I call being high strung. The invitation is to pause, connect with the breath, and create the space for coherence to arise.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen, or as you reflect on this new moon, what is being cleared for you? What has been creating interference in your authentic expression? What would it feel like to pause, connect with your breath, and trust that what is arising is not for your judgment, but for your release?

A year ago, I was reflecting on the experiences that left me feeling icky as a sensitive woman. The fear that I wouldn't be accepted or liked. The ways I contorted myself to fit in, to be welcomed, seen, and heard. And the question that has guided me ever since: Where can I just be myself?

In this episode, I share what it means to reclaim your authentic voice, especially as the holidays approach and we gather with family and friends. I talk about the brick in the backpack we carry when we don't speak our truth, the difference between an extroverted introvert and a true extrovert, and the physiological sigh that resets your nervous system after emotion.

If you have ever been told you are "too emotional" or "think too deeply," if you have withheld your truth to keep the peace, if you have carried bricks in your backpack for years, this space is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Icky Feeling: As sensitive women, we carry memories of experiences that didn't feel loving or kind. Social interactions where we had to navigate whether we could be ourselves or had to contort to fit in. These memories shape how we show up in adulthood.

Extroverted Introvert: Roughly 70 percent of highly sensitive people are introverts, and 30 percent are extroverts. I share what it feels like to thrive in environments with other sensitive individuals who get us, even if we need solitude to recharge. It is not about being one or the other. It is about knowing where your energy flows.

The Brick in the Backpack: What we do not speak, we carry. I invite you to imagine the unspoken truths you are holding as bricks in a backpack. What message does each brick carry? What needs to be heard? What needs to be spoken?

The Holidays and Old Environments: Returning to family homes or familiar social settings can bring up old behaviors. Sometimes we need to take a break from environments that don't feel safe for our authentic voice. Sometimes we need to practice speaking up for ourselves in smaller circles first.

The Physiological Sigh: A double inhale through the nose, then a long exhale out the mouth. This is how your body naturally resets after crying or emotional release. I invite you to practice this three times, especially in moments when you need to reconnect with your breath and body.

Others Will Only Treat Us the Way We Treat Ourselves: When we keep our mouths quiet and don't speak our truth, it is like a permission slip for others to treat us that way. To be authentic means caring so much about yourself that you are willing to speak your truth, even when it is not easy.

The Mind-Body Connection: What we suppress, we carry. And what is suppressed and carried in our body affects our body's well-being. We are whole beings. Mental health and physical health are not separate. They are interconnected.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen to this episode, or as you reflect afterward, what bricks are you carrying in your backpack? What truths have you been withholding to keep the peace? What would it feel like to take one brick out, even for a moment, and let it be heard?

A year before I pressed record, I felt the inspiration to create a podcast. It sounded quick and easy. It wasn't. I was met with frustration at every turn, the tech, the pieces, the process. And then, on a morning walk with my son, I tripped and landed on my face.

I spent that weekend in pain, using ice and red light therapy, and being open and curious about what this was really about. And I got it. I was pushing myself. I was ignoring the cues of frustration that my sensitive body was sending me. I was trying to step into the next level of my journey without honoring the rhythm of how I actually move.

This first episode is my introduction to you. Not as an expert on a pedestal, but as a sensitive woman walking the same path, just at a different point on the spiral. I share why I created this space, what it means to carry the high sensitivity trait, and how my own journey through health challenges, grief, and repeated trauma led me to the work I do now.

If you have ever felt like the outlier in your own family, if you have ever wondered why no one else seems to feel what you feel, if you have built walls to protect a heart that the world felt too harsh for, this space is for you.

What Arose in This Conversation

The Fall That Woke Me Up: How a literal fall on a morning walk became the moment I realized I was pushing myself instead of honoring my sensitive design. The frustration with the podcast process was my body's signal, and I had been ignoring it.

The High Sensitivity Trait: What it means to carry the sensory processing sensitivity trait, a trait found in over 100 species with an evolutionary purpose. It is completely normal, yet invisible. And it is a gift worth unwrapping.

Depth of Processing and Deep Empathy: As sensitive women, we have more mirror neurons. Our ability to feel deeply goes in both directions: the greatest joy and the deepest pain. This is not a flaw. It is the architecture of our gifts.

The Outlier and the Black Sheep: I share what it feels like to be the one who senses things differently, even within a loving family. The path that has gone in a different direction. The need for someone who understands.

My Human Design: I am a 3/5 profile, the trial-and-error pioneer and the messenger. I try many things, keep what works, and then share it. This is how I guide. Not from perfection, but from lived experience.

The Walls That Kept You Safe: The coping mechanisms you developed were not wrong. They helped you survive a world that felt harsh. But now we ask: Is it still true? Do I still need these walls? Is it safe now? Can I breathe?

The Invitation to Soften: You deserve to relax. You deserve to feel safe, seen, and acknowledged. It begins with connecting to your breath and your body. You can soften so your authentic self can begin speaking more clearly.

An Invitation to Carry With You

As you listen to this first episode, what arises when you consider the walls you built to protect yourself? Were they necessary then? Are they still necessary now? What would it feel like to let just one of them soften, even for a breath?
