While life in modern times has improved greatly from the times of the ancient world, humanity continues to be weighed down by sin. Christian believers “groan and long” to be clothed in the righteousness that Jesus will bring at His return. Therefore, God encourages His people by giving us His Holy Spirit as a down payment to a far greater life to come.
