In the 2024 election cycle, total spending hit a record $15.9 billion. To put that in perspective, if a candidate spent $1 every second, it would take them over 500 years to spend what was spent in just one election cycle. When that much money is in the air, the individual voter's voice is no longer a whisper—it’s effectively silent.

Data from OpenSecrets and RepresentUs reveals a nearly unbreakable trend in federal races over the last several cycles:

U.S. House of Representatives: Roughly 94% of candidates who outspent their opponents won their races

U.S. Senate: Roughly 82% of candidates who outspent their opponents won.

The Cost of Entry: As of late 2024, the "average" cost to win a House seat was roughly $2 million, while a Senate seat cost closer to $20 million.

While the median American household net worth stays relatively flat (around $192,000), the average "career politician" sees their wealth grow at a rate of 14% to 25% annually. For the "Top 100" wealthiest members of Congress, that growth average jumps to 114% per year. Serving 3 terms (6 years) often acts as a financial "launchpad" that the average worker simply doesn't have access to.

The Federal Reserve is a "two-headed" beast—a public federal agency in D.C. The Board of Governors, overseeing 12 private-ish regional banks owned by commercial member banks. The Board is a federal government department with a twist. They don’t get paid from the treasury, they make their own money from the U.S. bonds they hold. The 12 regional banks are privately held by large U.S. commercial banks which had to buy-in.

While the Fed doesn't decide to spend money (only Congress can do that), it does make it much easier for the government to borrow.

When the government spends more than it has, the Treasury issues bonds (debt). If there aren't enough private buyers, the Fed can step in and buy those bonds.

When the Fed buys those bonds, it doesn't use "saved" money. It creates new digital "reserves" (money) to pay for them.

"The government doesn't just print money; they hold an auction. But the only people allowed to bid at the big table are the same 'Big Banks' that own the Regional Fed. These banks buy the debt, and then the Fed buys it from them. It’s a closed-loop system where the same few players are the wholesalers, the retailers, and the bank all at once.” Hell of a business model. Does Monopoly come to mind?

I have been watching all of the press coverage of the Artemis ll moon mission. I have to say I haven't been all that excited. I was the for the moon landing stuff in 1969. I mean I wasn't actually there but I watched it all. Looking back though It occurs to me that, to use an analogy, it was like going to space in a Model T ford. And now 57 years later It was like going to space in a Model A ford. Very little difference in the mode of travel. Fancier computers. So my thought is if we expect to, forget about the moon, colonize Mars. We are definitely going to change the mode of transportation Dramatically. Question is, Is there any technology on the horizon that has the potential to make that happen in the next 57 years?

My analogy was that we strap the astronauts to a giant rocket that could turn into a bomb at any second. And when they come back they have to fall from the sky at thousands of miles per hour and hope their parachutes will deploy and and allow the to splash down in the ocean somewhere, and hope someone will be there to pluck out the water. Seems like a very crude and ancient system.

      <itunes:title>Energy Hostage crisis Update = Forbes article</itunes:title>

A recent Forbes article from April 5, 2026 challenges some the facts in my Energy Hostage Podcasts 1 & 2. According to the Writer I am misinformed. Well let's find out, Here is his words.

A widespread myth in energy circles is that U.S. refineries are “unable” to process the light, sweet crude produced by the shale boom. The claim tends to surface whenever gasoline prices rise or energy independence becomes a talking point. The argument is usually that the U.S. is producing record volumes of oil, yet still imports crude because its refineries were built for heavier foreign barrels.

It’s a compelling narrative, but it’s mostly wrong.

Let’s look at the real economics on the ground I just paid $4.30 / gal. For gas today. Two months ago I paid $2.28/gal. That is a 89% increase. That’s the ransom we pay for being held hostage to the middle east when we don’t have to be.

The economics for the oil companies is 50 or 60 Billion dollars in additional profits. We pay a ransom while they make huge profits. And He called it economical. It’s a matter of prospective I guess.

He doesn't dispute the fact the we still import millions of barrels a day from the middle east, but he claims in his words,

U.S. refineries can and do process shale crude every day. The issue isn’t technical capability. It’s economics.

Understanding that distinction is critical, because it explains why the U.S. simultaneously exports large volumes of crude oil while continuing to import it, and why that system works far more efficiently than it appears at first glance.

Stick with here to find out if it is really economical or efficient or which party it might be both of those things.

When I was 7 or 8 years old we lived on a small farm in south willard, not far from the weber county line in Utah. We had 2 or 3 milk cows, one we miked for our use and dad would buy baby calves at auction to put with the other cows after they calved. We had Holstein cows and they produced enough milk to feed 3 or 4 calves. One of those cows just had her calf and dad went to the auction get some baby calves to put with her. But when he got home there was no baby calves, but there was a surprise. He had 2 little donkeys a brown one and a white one.

The Biblically correct name for a male Donkey Would be Jackass.

The Smell Test

We’re Being told that we are energy independent. We see the oil rigs in Texas, the pumps in Utah. Yet, a drone strike in the Strait of Hormuz 7,000 miles away just added $2.00 to your gallon of gas. If we have the oil, why are we paying A ransom To the middle east? Something doesn't smell right, and today, we're going to follow that scent and see where it leads. My Thoughts on this whole Mess.

The oil and gas leases that our government makes available to oil companies represent an asset of the American people. Any and all assets belonging to us should benefit us first. Allowing companies to make a profit as well, makes the whole thing work. We should never allow them to sell our top grade stuff overseas for huge profits (of which we do not benefit) and then import cheap junk oil and make us pay premium price at the pump. And the when we have a conflict in the middle east we have to pay even more when our oil is not at risk. Our assets should always be for the benefit of us first. Not to make astronomical profits for big business.

What if we were refining our own oil, here is the "black and white" comparison to show the estimated difference. We would have to spend 30-40 Billion Dollars and it will take time to re-tool the refineries. We would also have to eliminate the jones act or get some new ships to carry the oil. But True energy independence would definitely be worth it.The idea of being free from the dependance on the middle east and all the wars and disruptions That’s pretty damn good too.

Imagine you move to a beautiful island nation. You’re there for a year. You don't know the history of the founders, you haven't studied the customs, and frankly, you might move again in two years. But after just 12 months, you’re handed a ballot to choose the Prime Minister.

This isn't a "what-if." It’s the law in New Zealand. Today, we’re looking at what happens to a country when "residency" replaces "loyalty," and why the world is currently hitting a breaking point on the idea of "World Citizenship."

Let’s look at New Zealand—Exhibit A. His Issue has been making waves lately and points to a scary trend. Because non-citizens can vote after a year, the country has become a magnet for "passive wealth."

Wealthy individuals move in, buy up the housing, and vote for policies that protect their property values. They aren't starting businesses or welding in shops—they’re parking money. The result? The housing market is hot as a firecracker.

Native-born New Zealanders, the people with "skin in the game," can no longer afford to live there. So, they’re fleeing to Australia for better-paying jobs. When a country’s own people are replaced by high-wealth transients, do you still have a nation, or just a gated community with a flag? As the ACT party in NZ is arguing this election cycle: “Citizenship must mean something.”

Roughly 66,000 New Zealand citizens left the country in the last 12 months, with over 60% of them heading to Australia.

That could be our future without the Save America Act or similar legislation.

It’s roughly 3% to 7% of every dollar the federal government spends. And that’s just confirmed fraud. Reports indicate that an Air Canada Express jet collided with a Port Authority fire truck that had been cleared to cross the runway while responding to a separate emergency. Tragically, both pilots were killed.

TSA is short about 3,000 traffic controllers. We have lost aprox. 300 in the last 30 days because of the shut down. The agency responsible for finding new candidates and training them is shut down as well. So, we are loosing more people but have no way to replace them.

Even if we could replace them, it takes 3-4 years to get a full trained air traffic controller. Even if our leaders could pull their heads right this minute and start a massive hiring and training program, it would be at least 2030 before we even came close to meeting staffing requirements. And that would require no more shut downs. And what is the probability of that?

As I think about all of this it occurs to me that with the failure of our leadership and our court system and government agencies.

Historically, most of the world follows one of two legal principles:

Jus Soli (Right of Soil): You are a citizen because you were born on the land. (Common in the Americas).

Jus Sanguinis (Right of Blood): You are a citizen because your parents are. (Common in Europe and Asia).

What’s changing in 2026: The "unrestricted" versions of these are disappearing.

In Europe: Almost no country offers unconditional birthright citizenship anymore. France, Germany, and the UK all now require parents to have lived there for several years before a child is born to get automatic citizenship.

Ireland was the last holdout in Europe; they ended unconditional birthright citizenship in 2005.

New Zealand and Australia also ended it in the 1980s and 2000s, moving to "conditional" systems where at least one parent must be a permanent resident.

However, they both reflect a move toward "Contractual Citizenship." Instead of citizenship being an permanent, iron-clad status, the government is treating it more like a membership:

I see it like this. If you were born here to parents who were and are loyal citizens, then your citizenship should not be questioned. But, if you come here otherwise, you should have to go through proper channels to become a citizen and it is not unreasonable to require a probationary period.

I mean we never know which one of them might be the next Albert Einstein, or Mozart, or someone great from all walks of life

If we take the worldwide abortion statistics from the last 40 years and apply the statistical distribution of "greatness"—measured by careers in science, medicine, the arts, and peak intellectual achievement—we can create a quantitative "loss of human capital" projection.

1. Establishing the Raw Numbers

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Guttmacher Institute, there are approximately 73 million abortions per year globally. Looking back 40 years (1986–2026), the rate has fluctuated, but a conservative global average of ~55 million per year is often cited by researchers.

Total Estimated Abortions (1986–2026): ~2.2 Billion

To put that in perspective, that is roughly 27% of the current total world population.

We are seeing shortages of Nurses and doctors in todays world because we wiped out those individuals that would have filled those positions.

Michael Savage definitely has a way of coining phrases that stick in the mind. His book Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder was a massive bestseller because it tapped into exactly what we’re feeling—the sense that certain policies aren't just "different opinions," but seem to fly in the face of basic logic or national self-interest.

GOP bill seeks to block illegal immigrants from being armed law enforcement

Ted Budd introduced the Stop Illegal Alien Cops Act in the Senate, and Mary Miller did the same in the House. Fox News

"Sanctuary policies in states like Illinois have gone so far as to allow illegal aliens to wear the badge and carry a firearm," Miller wrote in a statement. "That is a disgrace to every honorable officer and a threat to public safety."Law enforcement authority must be reserved for those who respect and uphold our laws, not those who are in violation of them," she added.

The "Crazy" Part: This creates a bizarre legal paradox: a person who is not a U.S. citizen is being asked to swear an oath that literally identifies them as a "citizen." Critics, including several Illinois sheriffs, have pointed out that this makes the oath technically a false statement the moment it is uttered.

am approaching this Podcast from a “liberalism is Destructive Mentality. Here are a few modern examples (circa 2024–2026) that critics often point to as "common sense" breaking down in favor of ideology:

1. "Sanctuary" Logic vs. Local Impact

One of the biggest "head-scratchers" for many is the conflict between declaring a city a "Sanctuary" and then declaring a "State of Emergency" when people actually arrive.

The Paradox: In 2024 and 2025, several major "Sanctuary Cities" (like Chicago and New York) began pleading for federal help and even suggesting that residents host migrants in their spare rooms.

The "Crazy" Angle: Critics argue it’s illogical to invite a situation through policy and then act surprised—or demand rural taxpayers' money—when the predictable result occurs. It feels like a disconnect from the reality of finite resources. The "Reliability Hotspots" (2026 Vulnerability)

"Luxury" of Green Energy

Premise: The disconnect between high-level climate mandates and the reliability of the local power grid.

Let’s name some names here, these states are currently sitting at the "breaking point" according to the latest 2026 vulnerability indices:

Illinois: Listed as one of the top 10 states most likely to face blackouts in 2026. The issue? Dependency on retiring nuclear and coal plants that aren't being replaced fast enough by reliable alternatives.

California: Remains a "hotspot" for wildfire-related preemptive shutoffs and the "duck curve" problem (too much solar in the day, not enough at night).

The "Red State" Contrast: A January 2026 report from The Western Way found that states like Utah and Arizona are 2 to 7 times more reliable than the national average. Why? Because they use an "all-of-the-above" strategy that keeps natural gas and nuclear as the backbone. Just Common Sense Man.

What we are seeing in Minnesota is just the Very Small tip of a very large iceberg. If we use their numbers and extrapolate for a national figure we are a over a halt a Trillion dollars and I think in the final analysis it will be much larger.. However we have other contributing factors that make it much worse than just the amount of the Fraud. I call this whole thing the 4 whammy's

1- the fraud itself

2- The interest. We are in deficit spending in the U.S. so in fact every dollar stolen is borrowed money.

3-We have at ;east 14 states who are projected to have deficits this year so they will intern have to pay interest on their shortfalls.

4- Much of the fraud money is being sent out of the country according to FBI investigations. According to economists money earned ( or stolen here) and sent out of the country robs our economy of the economic benefit of that money. Theory says that money earned here and spent here in the economy has a 5X multiple effect. Our economy takes a big hit because of the actual loss of the money stolen but also the loss of that Multiplier effect..

If we can stop the fraud or at least minimize it we could eliminate much of our federal deficit. And deficit in many of the states as well.

I am who I am because of my Parents. My dad in particular, had a way of teaching things about life, that many times I don't think he really knew he was teaching at the time. It was not what he said most of the time, it was what he did. The way he worked, the way he dealt with neighbors, friends and even strangers. This podcast is just one example the important life lessons he taught me, by doing it, not saying it. This experience has had a major impact on my life, I hope it can help others the way it has helped me.

Hello everybody, This is Craig Warren of "Rambling of an old fart Podcast" Todays Podcast is what I call "why the hell do we need a judge to decide everything?" We'll have a nice discussion about that.

The truth is we shouldn't, or at least not for Politics and Government, But somebody left the barn door open and now the animals are running wild. Yes, I did refer to them as animals, In my bio I mentioned I grew up on a farm in Utah, I learned at a young age that if you don't keep the fences mended and the gates shut, the animals go wild. They always seem to cause trouble for you or your neighbors. Our founding fathers through the constitution and other means built fences, whoops I guess because we are talking about people, I should refer to them as boundaries.

Problem is our representatives have left the proverbial gate open. and now the Political and legal animals are running wild.

So how do we fix it. Well, first we have make sure we know how it was supposed to work. And that is what this podcast is all about. We'll probably; throw a little fun in there too.

Join me won't ya

A lot of things are happening to make green energy safer and Green. But there are some issues. It might seem like I am against green energy, but not true. I just want us to make sure it's green and I mean really green, Not just another environmental crisis of our own making.

After all, Green energy cannot be truly green if it creates another environmental crisis in it’s place.

. The Scale of the Problem

The "waste tsunami" is no longer a theoretical projection; the first generation of mass-market solar panels and early EVs are now hitting their 15–20 year retirement age.

By 2030 it is estimated that trees will betas much as

8 Million Tons Of used up solar panel waste.

3 Million Tons of EV Batteriy Waste

By 2050 Those numbers are Projected to Be As much As

Solar Panels 150 to 200 Million Tons

EV Batteries 20+ Million Tons

At this Point I don't see a cohesive plan in place to deal with the Hazardous Waste.

The other issue is that We build huge solar farms out in the desert but many times the infrastructure down the line isn’t sufficient to handle the load. I read an article not too long ago, that in California it is estimated that approximately 40% of the solar energy produced is wasted, With That in mind is it cost effective, is it still green.

Jeffery Reynolds Book - Behind the Curtain

I don’t care what side of the Isle you’re on, this can’t make any sense. However, if you just believe that your side has to win at all cost, well in some perverted way I guess it does. But, what is the cost? And it’s not just a monetary cost. Consider this, 1 out of every 5 dollars spent on U.S. elections came from just 100 billionaire families. Are you willing to let 100 billionaires control your life? At this point they control you and me and the whole country because they control our elections in some way or another. I am going to leave you with that thought,

In his 2019 book, Behind the Curtain, Jeffery Reynolds attempted to chronicle the vast array of dark money nonprofit organizations used to spread hundreds of billions of dollars annually to the most radical of leftist causes — most of it exempt from taxes. He reached the conclusion that the amount of foreign influence in our body politic defies the imagination of most American voters and desperately needs to be investigated. His book cites examples of foreign influence over environmental policy in blue states such as Oregon and Washington, promotion by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) of radical protest movements, and foreign funding of environmental donor networks.

The "Real" Cost of Living vs. The 2.8% COLA

While the official COLA for 2026 is 2.8%, research from the Senior Citizens League and other advocacy groups suggests that the "senior-specific" inflation rate often sits significantly higher.

For many seniors, a nursing home is used as a de facto housing program. If you cannot afford rent and have even a minor health issue, the system often defaults to placing you in a facility because Medicaid will pay for the "bed" there, but often won't pay for "rent" in an apartment.

If your costs have increased by 95% over the last 5 years but your Social Security has only increased by 25%, you are effectively living on 70% less purchasing power than you had five years ago. This is why you feel "upside down"—because, mathematically, you are. For me here in Utah it looks like this, What $1.00 bought in 2021 will. now cost me $1.95 I have lost almost 50% of my buying power in 5 years. The 25% total COLA increases just don't cut it.

The Utah Stat: The number of Utahns over the age of 64 experiencing homelessness rose by 42% in just the last year. This is significantly higher than the increase for the general population. According to th Utah Point in Time count 2026.

We look at the shouting matches on cable news the hate and the vitriol and think, "It was never like this before." But history tells a different story. The 1800s were brutal. We’re talking about a century that started with a duel between Hamilton and Burr and peaked with a literal Civil War.

But tucked away in the corners of that violent history are stories that feel almost impossible today. Stories of men who spent their days trying to defeat each other's ideas, but the nights protecting each other's dignity. Today, we’re looking at the "Odd Couples" of the 19th century to see if they can teach us how to get past the hate.

"The 'better part of valor' isn't a relic of the 1800s.
