    <description><![CDATA[<p>Sulfuryl Fluoride is 4800 times more lethal to the environment than carbon di-oxide. A viable alternative is Orange Oil that kills termites, larvae, and eggs on contact.</p><p>Orange Oil and Other Essential Oils Orange oil is an alternative treatment extracted from orange peels. The major components of the oil are chemicals called terpenes or terpenoids and the major active ingredient is d[1]limonene. D-limonene is considered safe and has a low toxicity.82 Further, d-limonene does not pose a mutagenic, carcinogenic, or nephrotoxic risk to humans. 83 Orange oil has been registered in California under the brand name XT-2000TM for control of drywood termites.84 Orange oil is also currently available as an insecticide (Orange 74 V.R.
