      <description><![CDATA[<p>In the first episode of <strong>Non-Swimmers</strong>, host Emily Edge talks to Cullercoats based writer Peter Mortimer about his book <em>The Last of the Hunters</em> - a stark, vivid account of the six months he spent living and working aboard North Shields fishing boats in the 1980s.</p><p>This episode is part of Emily's practice-based research project, <em>The Sea as Threshold: Weaving North East Coastal Narratives through Saori Practice</em>, exploring the sea as a liminal space between life and death through woven textiles.</p><p><strong>About our guest:</strong> Peter Mortimer is a poet, playwright, journalist, and theatre director based in Cullercoats, and the founder of Iron Press.
