Good evening. Missouri. I'm Michael Mosby.

Here's the breakdown for the next 24 to 36 hours.

As the sun sets. Western Missouri, you'll see clouds increase today ahead of the main event, while tonight stays mild with a low around 57. The action starts Sunday morning. Rain showers are likely before 3 P.M., then the cold air crashes in. We could see a quick changeover to snow showers by late afternoon as temperatures plummet from 60 to 36. The big story is the wind, northwest winds will gust up to 52 miles an hour. Sunday night, any moisture changes to snow with blowing snow possible, the low drops to 14. Wind chills could reach minus 14 degrees.

Eastern Missouri, you've the best chance for seeing strong to severe storms Sunday. A slight chance of thunderstorms exists between 10 A.M. and noon. Rain becomes widespread by the afternoon with a high near 67. The cold front sweeps through Sunday evening, changing rain to snow before 10 P.M. It gets cold fast. Low temperatures drop to 21, but with 20 to 28 mile an hour winds, it will feel much harsher. Monday brings a chance of flurries before 7 A.M, with a high near 29.

Down in Southwest Missouri, rain showers develop after 8 A.M. Sunday. You hit a high near 64 early, then temperatures crash into the 40s by the afternoon. Rain changes to snow showers between 7 P.M. and 1 A.M. Sunday night. Accumulations look light, generally less than half an inch, the issue is the wind. Northwest gusts to 45 miles an hour will make it feel brutal, while lows Sunday night plunge to 16.

Looking ahead. Looking at the week ahead. Monday is brutally cold. Highs struggle to reach 30 degrees with wind chills near zero in the morning. But the cold doesn't stick, we warm back into the 50s on Tuesday. Then, get this. We surge into the 70s on Wednesday, by Thursday and Friday, highs climb into the low 80s. That's a 50 degrees temperature swing in just four days.

Charge your phone and keep that heavy coat handy. —

See you tomorrow.

      <itunes:title>Missouri Weather 3/10 Morning - Flood Warning</itunes:title>

Good morning. Missouri. I'm Michael Mosby.

Step outside right now and you'll feel 62 degrees, that's the overnight low, folks. We didn't cool down at all. And we're just getting started.

Today's bringing record-challenging heat across Missouri. Kansas City could hit 85 degrees this afternoon, flirting with the 1955 record of 86. St. Louis eyes 83. Springfield reaches the low 80s. These are July numbers in early March, pushed north by Gulf moisture and gusty south winds to 30 miles an hour.

But This warmth comes with a price.

A cold front is barreling toward us. And the atmosphere is primed for severe weather. We're talking about massive instability, powerful wind shear. And all the ingredients for dangerous storms. The catch? A strong cap is holding everything down through the afternoon. If that cap breaks late today, supercells could fire with very large hail — potentially 2 inches or bigger — and damaging winds.

As the sun sets. The more likely scenario has storms developing tonight after 6 P.M., especially across eastern Kansas and central Missouri. By midnight, a line of storms sweeps east with wind gusts reaching 60 to 70 miles an hour. Heavy rain is also likely, with the Kansas City metro seeing the highest flooding risk. Most areas pick up half an inch to an inch.

Wednesday morning the front clears out, temperatures crash through the day. Highs occur in the morning, then we drop to the low 50s by afternoon with gusty northwest winds.

Moving on. Thursday and Friday stay quiet with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. Saturday warms to the low 70s. Then another cold front arrives Sunday with rain and potentially some wet snow across northern Missouri. Behind that? A blast of cold air sends Monday's highs struggling to reach the upper 30s.

As the sun sets. Stay weather-aware tonight, folks.

See you this afternoon.

Good morning. Missouri. I'm Michael Mosby.

Step outside right now and you'll do a double-take. It's 70 degrees at sunrise. In early March. That south wind is pumping in air that belongs in late April. And by this afternoon, we're flirting with records.

Springfield hits 78 degrees with gusts to 28 miles an hour. Kansas City reaches 76. St. Louis? You're touching 80 — just one degree shy of the 1925 record. Sunshine dominates. And honestly, it'll feel downright tropical.

Tonight stays mild. Lows only drop to the upper 50s and low 60s as clouds thicken.

Now here's where things get serious. Tuesday pushes even warmer — low 80s statewide. But by afternoon, scattered thunderstorms fire up. And the environment is primed for severe weather. We're talking large hail, damaging winds. And a tornado threat Tuesday evening into Tuesday night. The Storm Prediction Center has central and eastern Missouri under an Enhanced Risk. This is the real deal.

Heavy rain is also a major concern. We could see one to two inches, with locally higher amounts. Soils are already saturated from last week, so flooding is possible if storms train over the same areas.

Wednesday brings the cold front through. Rain ends by afternoon. And temperatures crash 25 to 30 degrees. Kansas City drops to 53. St. Louis hits 55. Springfield settles at 60. That's actually normal for this time of year — we've just been spoiled.

The rest of the week looks quiet. Thursday stays cool in the upper 50s. Then we warm back into the 60s Friday and 70s by the weekend under mostly sunny skies.

Enjoy the warmth today, but keep an eye on Tuesday.

See you this afternoon.

Good afternoon. Missouri. I'm Matt Mullins.

Spring is showing off today. Step outside right now and you're basking in 52 degrees under pure sunshine. High pressure sliding east is pumping in that southwest wind. And it's bringing the warmth.

Today's a stunner. Clear skies statewide with highs climbing into the upper 60s and low 70s. Kansas City hits 68 degrees. St. Louis and Columbia reach 66. Springfield tops out at 67. Southwest winds gust to 23 miles an hour, so it'll feel breezy but pleasant — perfect weather for a Sunday stroll if you ask me.

Tonight stays mild. Clear skies hold with lows dropping to the mid to upper 40s. South winds ease to around 10 miles an hour.

Monday's the big show. Sunshine continues as temperatures soar into the upper 70s statewide. Kansas City could challenge the 77-degree record from 2021. St. Louis pushes 77. Springfield climbs to 79. Southwest winds gust to 23 miles an hour again. That's 31 degrees above normal for early March — Then Tuesday everything changes. We're tracking a storm system with multiple threats. Highs reach the low 80s before storms fire up. The setup includes severe weather potential — large hail, damaging winds. And tornadoes all possible Tuesday afternoon into evening. Eastern Missouri faces the highest risk. Heavy rainfall is also likely, with storm totals of 1 to 2 inches and locally higher amounts where storms train. Flooding becomes a concern Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Wednesday the cold front sweeps through. Rain ends by evening. Highs drop to the low to mid 50s behind the front.

The rest of the week rebounds nicely. Thursday through Saturday brings sunshine and highs in the upper 50s to low 70s.

One quick note — spring forward tonight. Clocks move ahead one hour at 2 A.M.

See you this evening.

Good morning. Missouri. I'm Michael Nally.

Step outside right now and you'll feel that crisp bite — mid-30s after yesterday's rain, with some patchy fog clinging to the river valleys west of Highway 65. But here's the thing. That chill won't last.

Sunshine takes over as high pressure slides east. Southwest winds kick in, pushing temperatures into the upper 60s statewide. Springfield hits 67 degrees. St. Louis climbs to 66. Kansas City reaches 68. The kind of day that reminds you spring is just around the corner. And speaking of that — don't forget to spring forward tonight. Clocks move ahead one hour.

Tonight stays mild under clear skies. Lows drop to the mid-40s to around 50 degrees, with a gentle south breeze keeping things comfortable.

Monday cranks up the heat. We're talking upper 70s to near 80 degrees — potentially challenging records set back in the 1980s. That's about 31 degrees above normal for early March. Perfect weather for getting outside if you ask me.

But here's where things get interesting. Tuesday brings a major pattern shift. A strong storm system barrels in from the southwest, pulling Gulf moisture northward. Highs soar into the low 80s before the fireworks begin. Widespread thunderstorms develop Tuesday afternoon and evening — damaging winds, large hail. And a few tornadoes are all possible. Heavy rain is likely, with most areas picking up over an inch. The NWS has issued a Slight Risk for severe storms across eastern Missouri.

The cold front sweeps through Wednesday morning, dropping temperatures back to the 50s and ending the rain. Thursday through Saturday stays dry with highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s.

Stay weather-aware Tuesday.

      <itunes:title>Missouri Weather 3/7 Evening - Springtime Flood Dance</itunes:title>

Good evening. Missouri. I'm Michael Nally.

In Step outside you’ll feel it immediately, that heavy, damp chill clinging to the air after yesterday's rain. We picked up about a third of an inch statewide. And the clouds are definitely slow to clear this morning. But don’t let the gray skies fool you—this is just the calm before a serious warmup.

We’re shaking off that cold front that swept through last night. Southwest Missouri woke up to patchy fog and lows in the mid-30s. Head west and you’re sitting at 39 degrees, though a breeze makes it feel closer to 34. Over in Eastern Missouri, you’re at 38 degrees under partly cloudy skies. That fog in the southwest should burn off by late morning, leaving us with a mostly dry, increasingly sunny day.

Clear skies take over tonight. Lows dip to 39 in Western Missouri, 38 in the East. And 35 in the Southwest. But here’s the twist—those numbers are actually *rising* overnight in some spots. Yes, you heard that right: temperatures will climb a few degrees after midnight as warm air starts rushing in.

The sun takes center stage Sunday. Highs jump to 69 in the west, 68 in the southwest. And 66 in the east. That’s running 33 degrees above normal for early March. Winds pick up too—gusts to 23 miles an hour in Western Missouri by afternoon. Perfect day for a walk if you ask me.

Hold onto your hats, because Monday and Tuesday bring *summer-like* heat. We’re talking highs in the upper 70s to near 80—yes, in *March*. Records could fall, especially in St. Louis and Columbia. But with that warmth comes trouble: strong to severe thunderstorms roll in Tuesday, along with flooding concerns. The Storm Prediction Center already has us in a slight risk zone for severe weather, with hail and damaging winds possible. Rainfall totals could hit 1 to 2 inches in spots, which is the last thing our soggy ground needs.

A cold front sweeps through Wednesday, dropping highs back to the 50s. But we rebound quickly—by Friday, we’re back in the 60s under partly sunny skies. And here’s a fun note: we’re gaining 2 minutes and 30 seconds of daylight every day now. Spring equinox is just 13 days away!

Farther north in Aroostook County, there’s a Flood Warning in effect. The Roubidoux Creek is running high, so avoid those low-lying roads today.

See you tomorrow.

Good morning. Missouri. I'm Aaron Jolly.

That damp chill you felt this morning? That was the cold front knocking on the door. Western Missouri woke up to a crisp 40 degrees, but those northwest winds at 12 miles an hour make it feel like 33. Meanwhile. Eastern Missouri is hanging onto a muggy 60 degrees. But not for long. Rain clears out by 10 A.M. and watch the thermometer crash. You'll go from 67 degrees at midday down to 56 by the afternoon. That's a 33 degrees-degree drop in a few hours, so pack layers if you're east of I-44.

Down in southwest Missouri, the story is a little different. A slight chance of rain lingers until 9 A.M., but skies clear quickly. Highs top out at 56, then fall overnight to 35. Those brisk northwest winds will make it feel even cooler. Classic Ozarks weather — one minute you need a light jacket, the next you're wishing for the heavy coat.

Statewide tonight, we dry out. Western Missouri drops to 38 degrees under clear skies, while Eastern Missouri falls to 40. Down south, you'll hit 35. That's frost territory for sensitive plants, so cover them up.

Sunday brings sunshine with a vengeance. Western Missouri jumps to 66 degrees — 33 degrees above normal for early March. Eastern Missouri matches at 67. And southwest Missouri climbs to 68. Winds shift to the southwest, gusting to 22 miles an hour. Perfect weather for drying out the yard or flying a kite.

But keep your eyes on Tuesday. A storm system is looming with an a chance of thunderstorms, some possibly severe. Until then, though. Here comes a wild ride. Monday nears 80 degrees — that's 33 degrees above normal. Then Wednesday crashes back to reality, with highs dropping 33 degrees overnight.

In One quick heads-up, if you're near the St. Francis River or down in the Bootheel, keep an eye on the water. We've got Flood Warnings and a Flash Flood Warning in effect until 12:45 P.M. For Butler. Carter. And Wayne counties.

See you tomorrow.

Western Missouri gets the first taste. Thunderstorms roll through between 5 A.M. and 11 A.M., peaking around 8 A.M. You'll climb to 73 degrees this afternoon under partly cloudy skies. South winds gust to 32 miles an hour. Round two arrives after 11 P.M. Tonight, dropping temps to 42 degrees.

Eastern Missouri wakes up mild at 56 degrees. You're the warm spot today — hitting 78 degrees this afternoon. South winds gust to 28 miles an hour. The severe threat arrives late tonight, between 11 P.M. and 5 A.M. Storms pack heavy rain and lightning. Lows fall to 63 degrees.

Southwest Missouri sits at 60 degrees overnight. Highs reach 75 degrees, with storms possible after 4 P.M. The main event hits between 9 P.M. and 5 A.M. — and this one could pack a punch. We're talking tennis ball-sized hail, damaging winds up to 70 miles an hour. And a tornado or two. If you're out late tonight, stay weather aware.

Saturday brings relief. Cooler, drier air moves in. Highs range from 54 to 70 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Sunday warms back to the upper 60s with clear conditions. Monday climbs into the mid-70s. Another storm system arrives Tuesday with rain likely and a chance of strong storms.

Charge your phone and check your weather alerts before bed tonight. This one's worth watching.

See you tomorrow.

Good afternoon. Missouri. I'm Aaron Jolly.

That drizzle you woke up to? Already done. We soaked up over half an inch overnight. And now thick fog is hanging around through mid-morning before it burns off.

In the next 24 hours. Western Missouri climbs to 65 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. Eastern Missouri hits 67. Southwest Missouri? You're the warm spot at 69 degrees, with a slight chance of showers popping up after 2 P.M. but tonight. That's when things get interesting. Rain and thunderstorms fire up after 9 P.M. Across western Missouri as a warm front lifts north. Eastern Missouri sees storms roll in after midnight. Lows hold in the upper 50s — unusually mild — with gusty south winds picking up.

Friday morning starts wet, then we catch a break. Highs jump to the mid to upper 70s. Fifteen degrees warmer than normal for early March. But here's what you need to know. Friday evening into Saturday morning brings a serious severe weather threat. Damaging winds up to 70 miles an hour. Large hail. Tornadoes possible. Central and northeastern Missouri face the highest risk. This isn't a drill, folks.

Saturday brings lingering morning showers, then clearing. Highs in the 50s and 60s. Sunday rebounds to the 60s with sunshine. Monday warms back to the upper 70s. Then Tuesday into Wednesday, another storm system rolls through with heavy rain and more severe weather potential.

Tonight's full moon rises under stormy skies. You won't see it, but it's up there somewhere.

Stay weather-aware tomorrow evening. Have multiple ways to get warnings. This system is packing a punch.

Good morning. Missouri. I'm Aaron Jolly.

If you woke up to the sound of rain hammering your roof. You weren't dreaming. Six-tenths of an inch fell across most of the state overnight. But down in the southeast? Perry. Bollinger. And Cape Girardeau counties got absolutely soaked — two to four inches. A Flash Flood Warning stays active there until 8 A.M. Madison County's under a Flood Warning too. If you see water over the road, turn around. Don't test it.

In the next 24 hours. The other big story this morning? Fog. Dense Fog Advisory covers most of Missouri until 7 A.M. Visibility drops to a quarter mile in spots. Take it slow out there.

Here's how today unfolds. Rain clears eastern Missouri by mid-morning, leaving clouds and patchy fog behind. Western Missouri sees fog lift by 10 A.M. Then temperatures climb into the mid-60s to near 70. About 38 degrees warmer than usual for early March. Eastern Missouri could push 70 if clouds break. Southwest Missouri hits 69 with a few isolated showers possible.

Tonight, the atmosphere reloads. Thunderstorms fire up across western Missouri after 9 P.M. Some could pack gusty winds and small hail. Lows only drop to 57 degrees.

Friday's the main event. Highs surge into the mid-70s to near 80 in eastern Missouri — approaching record territory. But warmth comes with consequences. A cold front barrels through Friday evening with a line of strong to severe thunderstorms. Damaging winds, large hail, even tornadoes are possible. Peak severe weather window runs late Friday afternoon through overnight.

The weekend calms down behind the front. Saturday cools to the mid-50s to near 60. Sunday rebounds into the mid-60s with sunshine. Monday could hit upper 70s again before another storm system rolls in Tuesday.

Stay weather aware Friday. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.

Good evening. Missouri. I'm Aaron Jolly.

That damp chill in the air isn't just your imagination. We've already picked up nearly two-tenths of an inch of rain. And more is on the way. You're looking at 52 degrees under heavy gray skies right now, but the real story is down south.

In the next 24 hours. We've got a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for the Ozarks until 9 P.M. Tonight. That covers Branson. West Plains. And points south and east. If you're down in Southwest Missouri, keep one eye on the sky. Showers and thunderstorms rumble on through the overnight hours. Rain chances peak around 11 P.M. With locally heavy downpours — you could see up to half an inch in spots. You'll bottom out around 50 degrees with some patchy fog rolling in late.

Eastern Missouri, you're in for a long night. Storms linger even longer here, with precipitation continuing straight through from 8 P.M. Until the early morning. The heaviest action hits around 2 A.M. Lows dip to near 55 degrees. And yes, that fog will be thick after midnight.

Out west, things settle down a bit sooner. Just a slight chance of storms between 8 and 11 P.M., then patchy fog takes over as the rain fades. You'll be cooler, too, dropping to around 45 degrees.

Thursday brings a serious break. Morning fog burns off by mid-morning, then partly sunny skies take over. And it gets warm — highs climb to 66 out west, 68 in the east. And a balmy 70 down in the southwest. That's running 38 degrees to 38 degrees above normal for early March, folks.

But Friday brings our next round of strong to severe storms. Highs surge into the upper 70s ahead of a cold front. And Eastern Missouri might even flirt with 80. Storms arrive Friday evening with all hazards possible — large hail, damaging winds. And even tornadoes.

The weekend calms down with sunshine and highs in the 60s, before another system pushes in Tuesday.

Charge those phones tonight and keep the weather radio handy. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.

Good morning. Missouri. I'm Aaron Jolly.

That light rain you heard overnight? Just a teaser. We picked up eight-hundredths of an inch. And now the atmosphere is loading up for a much wetter day. Temperatures held remarkably mild overnight — only dropped to 47 degrees under those thick clouds.

In the next 24 hours. Here's the story today. Western Missouri sits on the quieter edge of this system. Expect drizzle and patchy fog through the day with a high near 53 degrees. Nothing dramatic, just a gray, damp kind of day.

Head east toward St. Louis and things get interesting. Thunderstorms are likely — a 90 percent chance, peaking around 2 P.M. Highs climb to 62 degrees with that soupy southeast flow.

Down in Southwest Missouri? That's where the heavy action sets up. Showers and thunderstorms are a certainty today, with one to two inches of rain possible. Highs reach 65 degrees before slowly sliding backward this afternoon.

Tonight, storms continue across eastern and southern Missouri. Lows stay mild — mid-40s to low 50s. And here's something to step outside for: it's a full moon tonight. Whether you'll see it through the clouds is another question.

Thursday brings a brief break and a real warm-up. Highs surge into the upper 60s to low 70s statewide.

But Friday. Friday is the day to watch. A powerful cold front sweeps through with severe thunderstorms possible. Large hail, damaging winds. And even tornadoes are on the table. Highs Friday hit the mid-70s ahead of that front, then temperatures crash into the 50s for the weekend.

We're gaining nearly two and a half minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox sits just two weeks away.

For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.

Good evening. Missouri. I'm Aaron Jolly.

That damp chill you felt stepping outside today? It's the leading edge of an active pattern taking aim at the Show-Me State. We've already picked up 0.17 inches of rain. And there's more where that came from.

In the next 24 hours. Here's the setup. A warm front is lifting north through Missouri right now. And it's creating a temperature divide. Western Missouri sits at 42 degrees this morning. Eastern Missouri is milder at 51 degrees. And down in Southwest Missouri, you're already at 56 degrees — that's springlike warmth pushing north.

Wednesday night, storms continue statewide before gradually tapering Thursday morning.

Looking ahead. Thursday offers a brief break before another system arrives Thursday night. Friday turns unusually warm — highs in the mid to upper 70s, nearly 41 degrees above normal for early March. But that warmth comes with a price. Severe thunderstorms are possible Friday evening, with damaging winds the main threat. Can't rule out a tornado or two.

The weekend dries out with sunshine returning and highs in the 60s.

By the way, we're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Sunrise this morning was at 6:31. And tonight's full moon will be shining through those breaking clouds.

Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz.

Step outside and you'll feel something strange for late February. Warmth. We're sitting at 46 degrees right now, but here's the thing. A stalled front is slicing the state in two. and where you live determines what kind of day you're about to have.

In the next 24 hours. Down in Southwest Missouri, you're waking up to 47 degrees with a few light showers possible. By this afternoon? You'll hit 76 degrees. That's not a typo. Seventy-six in February. but there's a catch. Humidity crashes to 20 percent, winds gust to 30 miles an hour. and that combo creates fire weather conditions through the afternoon. Skip any outdoor burning today.

Head north to Eastern Missouri and you're starting at 40 degrees, climbing to 65 by mid-afternoon. A chance of light rain pops up after 1 P.M., but nothing heavy. Tonight, that front shoves through and temperatures nosedive to 31 degrees.

Western Missouri sees the same script. You're at 43 degrees now, hitting 70 this afternoon with a slight chance of rain between 9 A.M. and noon. Tonight you drop to 30 degrees as northerly winds take over.

Sunday stays cloudy with highs in the 40s to mid-50s. Then Sunday night into Monday morning, things get messy. North of Highway 54, expect a wintry mix of snow, sleet. and freezing rain. South of there, mostly rain. Monday morning commutes could get dicey across central Missouri.

The pattern flips wet and active after that. Tuesday through Friday brings multiple rounds of rain, possibly heavy. We could see 2 to 3 inches by next weekend, raising flooding concerns.

One bright note. We're gaining 2 minutes and 28 seconds of daylight each day. Sunrise today at 6:36 A.M., sunset at 5:53 P.M. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Missouri Weather Podcast — it's Thursday, February 26th.

Step outside right now and you'll feel 39 degrees. Not terrible. But here's the thing.. Winter's about to take a nap.

Sunshine floods the state today. And temperatures are climbing fast. Western Missouri, you're hitting 63 by mid-afternoon. Eastern Missouri reaches 56. Down in the southwest? You're the winner at 65 degrees. That's 24 degrees to 24 degrees warmer than normal for late February. Tonight stays mild — upper 30s to low 40s under clear skies.

Now Friday.. Friday is when things get wild. Highs soar into the low to mid 70s statewide. Southwest winds gust to 24 miles an hour. It'll feel like April crashed the party two months early.

But here's the catch. Those warm temps and gusty winds create serious fire danger. Humidity drops into the 20s. If you're burning brush or working outdoors Friday afternoon, take extra precautions.

Saturday starts warm — mid to upper 60s, even 77 in the southwest. Then a cold front barrels in Saturday night and flips the script completely.

Sunday into Monday is where it gets messy. Widespread precipitation develops late Sunday. North of I-70, this looks like snow — 1 to 3 inches possible. South of I-70, it's a mixed bag of rain, sleet. And freezing rain. Travel impacts are likely Sunday night into Monday morning.

The rest of next week stays active. Temperatures moderate back to the 40s and 50s with additional rain chances Tuesday and Wednesday.

Enjoy the warmth while it lasts. Winter's not done yet.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Missouri Weather Podcast — it's Wednesday, February 25th.

Step outside right now and you'll feel 39 degrees of pure February confusion. Clear skies overhead, but this is just the opening act.

Western Missouri takes the warmth crown today. Partly sunny skies push you to 58 degrees around 4 P.M. That's 29 degrees above normal for late February. Then the quick change hits. Rain moves in from 8 P.M. to midnight — nothing heavy, just enough to slick the roads. By 5 A.M. tomorrow, you're cooling to 36 degrees. But Thursday? Sunny and 62. Worth the wait.

Eastern Missouri runs cooler today. Mostly cloudy skies cap you at 52 degrees by 3 P.M. Rain chances climb after 9 P.M., peaking around midnight at about a coin flip. That continues until 5 A.M. Winds do a little dance, shifting from northwest to north around 9 A.M. Thursday brings mostly sunny skies and 54 degrees.

Southwest Missouri wins the lottery. Partly sunny skies rocket you to 65 degrees around 2 P.M. Just a brief rain window near midnight. Winds shift east to southeast around 2 P.M. Tonight's low settles at 43 degrees by 6 A.M.
Here's your week ahead. Friday launches us into the 70s — that's 29 degrees to 25 degrees above normal. Spring preview mode activated. But a cold front stalls this weekend. Temperatures drop and rain could mix with snow Sunday into Monday. The equinox is three weeks out, but today feels like we've already crossed that line.

For that overnight rain if you're out late.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Missouri Weather Podcast — it's Tuesday, February 24th.

Step outside right now and that 24-degree wind will slap you awake. But here's the wild part.. By 3 PM, you'll be peeling off layers like it's April. We're talking a 40-degree temperature swing in a single day.

A freight train of warm air is barreling into Missouri from the southwest. Western Missouri hits 63 degrees by mid-afternoon. Southwest Missouri climbs to 62. Even Eastern Missouri reaches 56. That's not just mild for February — that's downright balmy.

But there's a dangerous catch. Southwest Missouri is under a Red Flag Warning from 11 AM to 7 PM. Humidity drops into the 20s. Winds gust to 39 miles an hour. Any spark could explode into a fast-moving wildfire. Don't burn anything outdoors today. Period.

Let's break it down. Western Missouri starts at 26 degrees at 5 AM, then rockets to 63 by 3 PM. Winds shift from southwest to north-northwest around 8 PM as a cold front slides through. Tonight drops to 37 under mostly cloudy skies.

Eastern Missouri wakes up at 22 degrees but still climbs to 56 by afternoon. South winds at 10 to 20 miles an hour shift southwest around 2 PM. The strongest gusts — up to 20 miles an hour — hit right at 3 PM during your commute home. Tonight cools to 37.

Southwest Missouri gets the wildest ride. You jump from 24 at 6 AM to 62 by 3 PM. But those winds make it feel like 19 degrees at 7 AM. Gusts hit 39 miles an hour. That's why the entire region is under that Red Flag Warning. Tonight settles at 40.

Here's your week ahead. Wednesday brings light rain statewide with a possible rain-snow mix north of I22 degrees. Then we warm up big. Friday hits 70 in Southwest Missouri, 71 in Western Missouri. That's 20 degrees above normal. Saturday stays warm before a cold front brings rain and snow Sunday.

Secure outdoor items today. Respect that wind. And if you're in Southwest Missouri, be extra careful.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Missouri Weather Podcast — it's Monday, February 23rd.

Step outside right now and you're greeted by 17 degrees and that sharp, quiet cold where your breath hangs in the air like a question mark. Sunrise hits at 6:43 A.M.. And we're banking two more minutes of daylight. Winter's still here.. But it's packing its bags.

Today's the calm before the chaos. Highs struggle into the mid 30s across most of the state. Western Missouri tops out at 35 degrees. Southwest Missouri sneaks up to 39. Eastern Missouri? You're stuck at 34 with northwest winds gusting to 22 miles an hour. It's the kind of day where you zip up and get where you're going.

But tonight, everything shifts. Lows dip into the teens and 20s, but those winds flip south. That's your first clue. By Tuesday morning, you're waking up to a different planet. Western Missouri rockets to 62 degrees. Southwest Missouri hits 61. Eastern Missouri climbs to 53. The catch? Winds absolutely howl — gusts to 35 miles an hour in the southwest. If you've got outdoor burning planned, cancel it. Fire danger is real.

Wednesday starts warm but a cold front crashes the party by evening. Rain rolls in Wednesday night into Thursday — nothing blockbuster, just steady and widespread. Eastern Missouri might hear a rumble or two. Totals stay light, but roads get slick.

Friday and Saturday bring sunshine and 60s. Yes, in February. But Sunday teases us with a weak system — a few showers possible. And Northern Missouri might see a rain-snow mix. Just a 20% chance, but it's Missouri reminding you who's boss.

Today. Tomorrow, you'll be peeling layers off. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Missouri Weather Podcast — it's Sunday, February 22nd. If you stepped outside earlier, you felt that wind bite. We're talking 28 degrees that feels like the teens, thanks to northwest gusts hitting 30 miles an hour.

Western Missouri, you're climbing to 33 degrees by 4 P.M., then crashing to 16 overnight with wind chills near 14 degrees. Eastern Missouri? Even colder — highs barely touch 32, lows drop to 17. And it'll feel like 14 degrees. Southwest Missouri gets a slight break at 38 today, but you're still falling to 17 tonight.

Here's the thing: those wind chills mean exposed skin can freeze in minutes after sunset. And with bone-dry air and gusty winds, the National Weather Service is flagging elevated fire danger today. Not the day to burn leaves or toss cigarettes out the window.

But here's where it gets wild. By Tuesday, we're launching into the 60s. Western Missouri jumps from 33 today to 60. Eastern Missouri leaps from 32 to 55. Southwest Missouri? A balmy 62. That's a 30-degree swing in 48 hours — spring showing up uninvited.

Looking at the week ahead: Monday stays chilly in the 30s. Tuesday kicks off the warmup near 60 with gusty southwest winds. Wednesday climbs to the mid-60s with a chance of rain overnight. Thursday stays near 60 with lingering showers early. And Friday? We're flirting with 70 degrees before things cool down next weekend.

So. Quick favor — if this helped you plan your day, drop us a rating. It helps more folks find us.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning, folks! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Missouri Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 17th.

Here's the deal. Step outside and you'll feel winter reminding you it's still in charge. But honestly? It's not its best work. Southwest Missouri wins the warmth contest today with highs near 30 degrees. Head northeast toward St. Louis or up toward Hannibal and you're sitting in the mid 20s. Not a dramatic split, but enough that your cousin in Springfield brags a little.

Winds stay gentle. Six to seven miles an hour out of the north. Just enough to make your nose run, not enough to steal your hat. Southwest Missouri carries a slight chance of flurries this afternoon. Nothing that'll stick. More like winter sneezing on you.

Tonight the real cold settles in. Teens statewide under mostly clear skies. That means patchy frost by sunrise. If you parked outside, give yourself an extra five minutes with the scraper tomorrow morning.

Sunday brings a quiet encore. Mid 20s up north, near 30 again down southwest. Nothing dramatic. But here's where it gets interesting.

A warm up is sneaking in. By midweek you're looking at 40s. Thursday could flirt with the 50s. No major storms in sight. Just a slow, steady climb toward something that almost smells like early spring. Don't get too excited. This is Missouri. But enjoy it while it lasts.

One more thing worth knowing. Sunrise hit at 6:32 this morning. Sunset at 5:20. We're gaining almost three minutes of daylight every day now. Air quality sits moderate, so sensitive groups might want to take it easy outside.

Alright. If you're enjoying these morning updates, share us with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps this thing going.

Stay safe out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Missouri Weather Podcast. It's Friday, February 16th.

Folks, Missouri is handing out different weather depending on your zip code today. Southwest Missouri grabbed the winning ticket. You're waking up to 48 degrees down there. That's practically spring whispering in your ear. North winds running 6 to 10 miles an hour keep things comfortable, and tomorrow flirts with 50 again.

Now head northwest and the thermometer drops. You're sitting at 40 degrees with a northwest breeze at 8 miles an hour. Here's the thing. That wind has teeth this morning. Tonight dips further, but tomorrow starts a slow crawl back toward the mid 40s.

Over in eastern Missouri, you've got the middle ground. 44 degrees with gentle west winds at 7 miles an hour. Clear skies tonight. Tomorrow pushes the upper 40s. Quiet and seasonable. The kind of day that just lets you breathe.

Quick note on air quality. It's moderate today, sitting around 60 on the index. Sensitive groups, you'll want to take it easy outside. And here's a bright spot. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight every day now. Sunrise at 6:33, sunset at 5:18. Winter is losing its grip.

Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Dry and steady wins the race. No rain. No snow. Just a gentle warm up that nudges most of the state into the 50s by Sunday. Perfect weekend for getting outside. Early next week stays mild with more of the same. If you've got outdoor plans, the weather is basically rolling out the red carpet.

So. If this forecast helped you plan your Friday, share it with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps us going.

Stay safe out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
