Good evening. Louisiana. I'm Michael Mosby.

What a start to the weekend, you're waking up to 69 degrees under a clear sky. It's gorgeous out there. We're gaining nearly two minutes of daylight today, so you really ought to step outside and don't get used to this. A massive weather change is bearing down on us, a strong cold front is racing toward the state. Sunday brings a risk of severe storms, then, the bottom falls out. Here comes a temperature swing of nearly 30 degrees, highs drop from the 80s on Sunday to the 50s on Monday.

Moving on. Let's break it down regionally.

As the sun sets. Southeast Louisiana stays mostly cloudy tonight with a low near 64, while sunday turns partly sunny and windy. You hit 82 degrees before storms roll in Sunday night, showers and thunderstorms are likely. Some storms could be heavy with winds shifting west and gusting up to 40 miles an hour. Monday wakes up cooler and breezy, highs only reach 57.

The Capital Region sees partly cloudy skies tonight, lows drop to around 60. Sunday looks partly sunny with a high near 83, rain is likely before 10 P.M. Monday clears out but the chill sets in, highs reach only 53 degrees.

Up in Northwest Louisiana, you'll see mostly cloudy skies tonight with a low of 61. Sunday turns windy and warm with a high near 82, showers and thunderstorms are likely after 4 P.M. Some storms could be severe, the temperature crashes behind the front. Look for a low near 36 degrees Sunday night.

Looking ahead. Looking at the week ahead. Monday is sunny but brisk, while northwest Louisiana wakes up near freezing Tuesday morning. We warm up quickly by Wednesday with highs back in the 70s, thursday and Friday look sunny and pleasant. Highs return to the 80s by next weekend.

Secure the loose patio furniture tonight before those winds pick up. —

See you tomorrow.

      <itunes:title>Louisiana Weather 3/9 Morning - Flood Warning</itunes:title>

Good morning. Louisiana. I'm Michael Mosby.

If you're driving right now, slow down. Dense fog has swallowed the state this morning. Visibility's dropped below a quarter mile. Use your headlights. Take your time. This fog should burn off by late morning, but until then, the commute's a crawl.

Once that fog clears, we're in for a warm, sticky day. Southeast Louisiana hits 82 degrees with partly sunny skies. A slight chance of thunderstorms pops up between 1 and 3 P.M., but most of you stay dry. The Capital Region also reaches 82, but you've got better storm odds — 60 percent between 1 and 5 P.M., peaking around 2 P.M. Northwest Louisiana tops out at 78 with a 50 percent chance of storms scattered throughout the day.

Tonight, patchy fog creeps back in after 2 A.M. Lows settle at 69 in the southeast, 68 in the Capital Region and northwest. Mostly cloudy skies statewide.

Tuesday stays warm and humid. Highs climb to 83 in the southeast and 84 in the Capital Region and northwest. Morning fog clears by 7 A.M., then mostly cloudy skies take over. Dry conditions across the board.

For the week. Wednesday brings the next big story — a cold front barrels through with showers and thunderstorms. Highs reach the low 80s before the front arrives, then storms fire up in the afternoon. Wednesday night gets active, with an 80 percent chance of storms and gusty winds up to 35 miles an hour. That front ushers in much cooler air for Thursday. Highs only reach the upper 60s. Thursday night, temperatures plunge to the mid-40s in the Capital Region and northwest, mid-50s along the coast. Friday and the weekend look beautiful — sunny skies, highs in the mid-70s to low 80s. Perfect weather if you ask me.

See you this afternoon.

Good afternoon. Louisiana. I'm Matt Mullins.

Before we dive in, tonight's the night — clocks spring forward one hour. You'll lose an hour of sleep, but hey, you gain more evening sunshine. Fair trade? Debatable.

About that weather. We picked up nearly five inches of rain overnight, but the skies are finally clearing. Southeast Louisiana. Here comes 79 degrees this afternoon before cooling to 75. There's a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms between 1 P.M. and 7 P.M., so keep an eye on the radar if you've got outdoor plans. Tonight drops to 67 with patchy fog rolling in after the storms clear.

The Capital Region runs similar — highs around 77 with a 40 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy today, then patchy fog tonight as temperatures settle near 67.

Northwest Louisiana gets the driest conditions. Partly sunny skies with highs near 72 and light winds. Tonight brings mostly cloudy skies with lows around 63, plus a slight chance of storms after 4 A.M.

Monday brings patchy morning fog statewide, clearing by 10 A.M. Highs climb into the low 80s with scattered afternoon storms possible. Tuesday and Wednesday? We're talking mid-80s — some areas could flirt with record highs. Wednesday afternoon brings a 50 to 70 percent chance of storms as a cold front pushes through.

Behind that front, we finally cool down. Thursday sees sunny skies with highs in the upper 60s and lows dropping into the upper 40s to mid-50s — our first real taste of average March weather. Friday and Saturday look beautiful with sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Don't forget to set those clocks forward tonight.

See you this evening.

Good morning. Louisiana. I'm Michael Nally.

If you woke up to the sound of rain hammering your roof, you weren't dreaming. Nearly five inches fell overnight across parts of the state. Baton Rouge took the worst punch — streets turned to rivers, drains gave up. That heavy band has finally pushed east, but the sky's not done with us yet.

Today brings patchy fog and scattered thunderstorms rolling through. Down in New Orleans and the southeast, storms fire up this morning through early afternoon — peaking around 1 P.M. Highs hit 80 degrees with light south winds. Up in Baton Rouge, same story — storms most active through mid-morning, then easing. You'll also reach 80 degrees. Northwest Louisiana near Shreveport catches a break. Just a slight chance of rain before 10 A.M., then partly sunny skies take over. You'll top out at 76 degrees.

Tonight, fog returns statewide. Lows drop to the upper 60s — 68 in New Orleans, 67 in Baton Rouge, 63 in Shreveport.

Monday stays muggy and unsettled. Scattered showers and storms develop, especially across northern parishes. Highs climb to 82 in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, 79 in Shreveport.

Tuesday and Wednesday turn hot — record-challenging heat with highs in the mid 80s. But a cold front barrels through Wednesday night with strong storms and gusty winds. Gusts could hit 40 miles an hour. Behind that front. Thursday clears out beautifully. Highs in the mid to upper 60s, much lower humidity. Friday and Saturday look gorgeous — sunny skies, highs in the mid to upper 70s.

One more thing. Clocks spring forward tonight. You lose an hour of sleep, but we're gaining daylight. Sunrise tomorrow at 7:24 A.M., sunset at 7:09 P.M.

See you this afternoon.

Good evening. Louisiana. I'm Michael Nally.

In Here's situation, warm, unstable air from the Gulf is clashing with slightly cooler air filtering down from the north. That collision is fueling rounds of showers and thunderstorms. And some of them could pack a serious punch.

Down in Southeast Louisiana. New Orleans and Baton Rouge are ground zero today. A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until midnight. Some spots have already seen 2 to 3 inches of rain. And another 2 to 4 inches could dump on top of that. That’s a recipe for street flooding, especially in low-lying areas. You’re sitting at 69 degrees this evening, but the humidity makes it feel heavier. By tomorrow, highs push to 79 degrees, but storms fire up again by noon. If you're heading to the French Quarter or out toward Slidell, keep the rain gear handy.

In Capital sees same soggy story with a twist, fog. Patchy fog rolls in overnight, mixing with scattered storms that could drop half an inch to three-quarters of an inch of rain. Lows dip to 68 degrees—muggy even after dark—before rebounding to 79 degrees Sunday. The heaviest activity hits between 9 A.M. and 3 P.M., so if you're hitting the farmers market, watch the radar.

Up in Northwest Louisiana. Shreveport and Monroe are catching a relative break. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 9 P.M. Near the Arkansas line, but the front weakens as it moves south. You’ll see heavy rain early—another half-inch to three-quarters—but the severe threat drops fast. Lows tonight fall to 60 degrees before Sunday highs reach 74 degrees.

The bigger picture? We’re stuck in a pattern pumping warmth straight from the Gulf. Tuesday brings record-challenging highs in the mid-80s. A cold front finally knocks us back to near 70 degrees by Thursday, but we flirt with 80 degrees again by next weekend.

Tonight, storms peak between 8 P.M. and midnight statewide. Fog develops after 10 P.M., dense near rivers and lakes. Watch for isolated strong storms capable of 60 mile an hour winds or quarter-sized hail, especially north of I-10.

We’re 13 days from the spring equinox, but Louisiana is already in full spring mode—minus the azaleas, plus the thunderstorms.

Charge your phones and keep the weather alerts on tonight. See you tomorrow.

      <itunes:title>Louisiana Weather 3/7 Morning - Sudden Showdown Showdown</itunes:title>

Good morning. Louisiana. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside right now and you’ll feel it. That thick, tropical air is hanging over the state like a heavy, steamy blanket. We're sitting at 72 degrees under overcast skies. And yes, that’s exactly where we started the night too. There's no cooling off here folks, just pure, sticky March warmth.

Here comes the stormy showdown. Northwest Louisiana is already in the thick of it with severe thunderstorms rolling through. You're seeing 81 degrees there, but it feels more like a summer squall line. Some of these storms could pack damaging winds, hail. And even an isolated tornado. Definitely not your typical March morning.

Down in the Capital Region. Baton Rouge hits 85 degrees with storms firing up by midday. The front stalls nearby, so expect rounds of heavy rain through tonight. Some spots could see over an inch. If you're driving through low-lying areas later, watch for rising water.

Southeast Louisiana, including New Orleans, stays milder at 82 degrees. Patchy fog lingers near the coast early, then storms bubble up by afternoon. The real story here's a soggy Sunday. Thunderstorms are likely, with some downpours lasting into Monday.

Tonight, storms rumble statewide. Lows only dip to the upper 60s. You read that right—absolutely no relief from the humidity.

Looking ahead, the wet pattern sticks around. Monday brings scattered storms, then a brief dry spell Tuesday before another front arrives midweek. By Thursday, we finally cool down. Highs near 70 and lows in the 50s feel almost normal for March.

We're gaining nearly 2 minutes of daylight daily. Spring equinox is just 13 days away.

Keep those gutters clear today. That heavy rain will test your drainage.

See you tomorrow.

See you this afternoon.

Good morning. Louisiana. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside and you'll feel something unusual for early March. We're already sitting at 69 degrees. And we're just getting started.

This afternoon brings a taste of summer. Highs climb into the mid 80s statewide. Baton Rouge hits 85 degrees by 2 P.M. New Orleans reaches 81 by 4 P.M. Shreveport tops out at 85 by 5 P.M. We're running 51 degrees above normal for early March. Flirting with record territory.

But warmth brings instability. Scattered thunderstorms fire up between noon and 5 P.M. Across most of the state. Expect lightning and gusty winds up to 50 miles an hour. Nothing severe, but enough to rattle the afternoon if you're outdoors.

Tonight stays mild. Lows only drop to around 69 or 70 degrees. Mostly cloudy skies. Southeast winds keep that humid air locked in place.

Saturday starts the same way. Partly sunny, highs in the low 80s. But afternoon storms return with higher chances. A 50 percent chance along the coast, climbing to 70 percent in the Capital Region. Northwest Louisiana sees near certainty by afternoon. Heavy rain becomes likely there, with totals between half an inch and three quarters of an inch possible.

Sunday is the big weather day. A weakening frontal boundary stalls overhead, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms. Expect an 80 percent chance of rain across most of the state. This is the soaking we've been waiting for. Much needed rainfall to ease drought conditions. Strong winds and lightning remain possible.

The front lingers into early next week, keeping daily rain chances alive through Wednesday. Temperatures ease back slightly but stay warm. Mid 80s holding through Tuesday before dropping to the upper 70s by Thursday.

Grab your umbrella before you head out this weekend. You'll need it.

See you tomorrow.

Good afternoon. Louisiana. I'm Aaron Jolly.

We picked up three-quarters of an inch overnight. Step outside right now and you're greeted by 77 degrees of sticky, humid air that feels ripped straight from June. Welcome to Louisiana in March.

In the next 24 hours. We're running 54 degrees to 54 degrees above normal, flirting with record territory. And this warm spell isn't budging anytime soon.

Southeast Louisiana tops out at 80 this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. There's a slight chance of a quick thunderstorm around midday, but most of you stay dry. Tonight drops to 67 with patchy fog developing after 3 A.M., especially near Lake Pontchartrain and the Northshore.

The Capital Region climbs to 82 today — partly sunny with a brief thunderstorm possible late this afternoon. Tonight holds at 67 under mostly cloudy skies.

Northwest Louisiana sees the warmest temps — 84 degrees under mostly sunny skies. You'll cool to 65 tonight with partly cloudy conditions and a gentle south breeze.

Friday brings more of the same. Southeast Louisiana reaches 81 with morning fog clearing by 7 A.M., then a chance of storms around noon. The Capital Region hits 86 — our hottest reading — with isolated storms possible in the afternoon. Northwest Louisiana climbs to 85 with a slight chance of showers after noon.

For the weekend. Saturday brings scattered thunderstorms, some potentially strong, with highs in the low 80s. Sunday turns unsettled with showers and thunderstorms likely, especially after 7 A.M. Rain totals could reach 2 to 4 inches through the weekend — much-needed relief for our drought conditions. Monday stays mostly cloudy with lingering storm chances. Tuesday and Wednesday look partly sunny with highs in the low to mid-80s.

Keep an eye on the sky this weekend. Those storms could pack a punch.

Good morning. Louisiana. I'm Aaron Jolly.

That overnight rain dropped eight-tenths of an inch and left us with a gift. Dense fog hugging the coast. A Dense Fog Advisory runs until 10 A.M. For Lower Terrebonne. Lower Lafourche. Coastal Jefferson. And Lower Plaquemines. Visibility could drop to a quarter mile. If you're driving, take it slow and use those low beams.

In the next 24 hours. Here's the big story today. We're running hot. 49 degrees to 49 degrees above normal for early March. Near-record territory, folks.

Down in Southeast Louisiana, that morning fog burns off to partly sunny skies. You'll hit 80 degrees this afternoon. A slight chance of a shower pops up between 3 and 5 P.M., but most of you stay dry. Tonight, patchy fog rolls back in after 3 A.M. With a low of 68.

Up in the Capital Region, same deal. Patchy fog clears by mid-morning, then partly sunny and 84 degrees. That's exceptionally warm. Showers are possible between 2 and 5 P.M. Tonight drops to 67 with more fog developing late.

Over in Northwest Louisiana, no rain today. Just partly sunny skies and 84 degrees. South winds pick up to 15 miles an hour with higher gusts. Tonight stays dry at 67.

Friday keeps the warmth going. Low to mid-80s again. But rain chances climb. Showers and thunderstorms become more widespread Friday night into Saturday. Sunday looks particularly wet across the state. Then the pattern flips. A cold front sweeps through Wednesday, dropping temperatures significantly.

Enjoy this early taste of spring while it lasts. Cooler air is waiting in the wings.

Good evening. Louisiana. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside tonight and you might think we skipped straight to May. The air is thick, warm. And loaded with Gulf moisture. We only dropped to 66 degrees overnight. That's a solid 62 degrees warmer than usual for early March. Tack on the nearly an inch of rain we saw yesterday. And you've got a genuine tropical vibe settling over the bayou.

In the next 24 hours. Tonight stays mild and muggy. Lows statewide hold right at 66. You'll see some patchy fog develop late, especially along the coast and up through the Capital Region. If you're commuting early Thursday morning, give yourself some extra time. The visibility might be tricky in spots.

Thursday brings even more heat. Southeast Louisiana climbs to 81 degrees. The Capital Region hits 84. Northwest Louisiana tops out at 85. We're running a solid 62 degrees to 62 degrees above normal. That puts us dangerously close to record territory. You might see a stray shower pop up south and east in the afternoon, but most of us stay dry.

The pattern flips Friday. A storm system rolls in and parks right over us. Showers and thunderstorms become likely Friday and Saturday. Some spots could see a solid one to two inches of rain. Northwest Louisiana sees the best chance of getting drenched Saturday.

The humidity hangs around into early next week. We keep the warmth, but we also keep the daily storm chances.

Tonight's full moon will have to fight through all that cloud cover. Sunrise is at 6:29. We're picking up nearly two minutes of daylight every single day. The spring equinox is just two weeks away.

Keep that umbrella handy for Friday. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.

Good morning. Louisiana. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside and you might think someone fast-forwarded the calendar to May. We're sitting at 70 degrees at sunrise. And the thermometer barely dipped overnight. We're running a solid 61 degrees warmer than usual for early March. That's the kind of mild that makes you want to call in sick.

In the next 24 hours. Let's take a tour of what's happening across the state.

Down in Southeast Louisiana, you're dealing with some patchy fog, but that burns off by 7 A.M. Then it's mostly sunny. You'll hit 79 degrees with a nice southeast breeze around 7 miles an hour.

The Capital Region might hear a few rumbles of thunder. You've got a chance of showers and storms from 11 A.M. Through 5 P.M. — keep that umbrella handy. Highs top out near 81 degrees.

Northwest Louisiana sees the warmest readings. Partly sunny skies and a high of 84 degrees. South winds pick up to 15 miles an hour this afternoon.

Tonight, lows settle in the mid-60s statewide. Fog develops after midnight, especially along the coast and around Baton Rouge.

Looking ahead, this warm, humid pattern holds firm. Thursday brings another unseasonably warm day with highs in the 80s. Then afternoon storm chances increase Friday and especially this weekend. A weather system brings better rain chances Saturday through Monday — we could finally see some much-needed rainfall.

Tonight's full moon rises at sunset. If the fog holds off, it should be a beautiful view. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.

Good evening. Louisiana. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside and you might think we skipped right past Mardi Gras and landed in late April. We're sitting at 72 degrees under clear skies right now. That's a solid 63 degrees warmer than usual for early March. The calendar says spring is two weeks away, but the atmosphere clearly didn't get the memo.

In the next 24 hours. Down in Southeast Louisiana, you'll want to watch for patchy fog rolling in after midnight, lingering until about 2 A.M. Lows will only dip to 65 degrees. Tomorrow morning, that fog burns off quickly by 7 A.M., leaving you with mostly sunny skies and a high pushing 79 degrees. It's a gentle breeze from the southeast, perfect weather if you ask me.

The Capital Region stays mostly cloudy tonight with a low around 68 degrees. Wednesday brings a little drama — you've got a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms between noon and 3 P.M. Highs climb to 81 degrees before those storms roll through, so keep an eye on the sky during the afternoon.

Head northwest and it's the warmest spot in the state. Shreveport hits 84 degrees tomorrow with south winds gusting to 20 miles an hour. A slight chance of rain sneaks in late Wednesday night.

Looking ahead, we stay unseasonably warm through the weekend with highs holding in the low 80s. Friday kicks off a wetter pattern — showers and thunderstorms become likely from Friday through Sunday. Some spots could see one to three inches of rain, which is exactly the moisture we need.

Tonight brings a full moon. Step out after sunset and enjoy the show. We're gaining nearly two minutes of daylight every day now, with sunset just after 6 P.M.

Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz.

If you're in Southeast Louisiana right now, you're driving blind. Dense fog has visibility down to a quarter mile in spots. That advisory runs until 10 A.M., so flip on those low beams and leave early. The fog's thick enough to taste.

In the next 24 hours. Here's the story. A weak cold front slipped offshore yesterday. and now high pressure from the northeast is taking over. That's clearing our skies and cranking up the heat. We're talking ten to fifteen degrees above normal for late February.

Once that fog lifts around mid-morning. Southeast Louisiana hits 75 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Tonight stays clear with a low around 56.

Push north to the Capital Region and you get a gorgeous day. Sunny skies, high near 80 degrees. Tonight brings mostly clear conditions with a low around 55.

Over in Northwest Louisiana, you're the hot spot. Mostly sunny with a high near 82 degrees. Partly cloudy tonight with a low around 57.

Sunday looks just as nice. Southeast Louisiana climbs to 74 under partly sunny skies. The Capital Region reaches 80 again. Northwest Louisiana hits 83 with mostly sunny conditions.

This warmth sticks around through midweek. Highs stay in the upper 70s to low 80s. By Wednesday. Gulf moisture returns and we'll see afternoon showers and thunderstorms through Friday.

Quick note on today's sunshine. The UV index peaks high, so grab those sunglasses. We're also gaining nearly two minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox is just twenty days out.

Stay cool out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Louisiana Weather Podcast — it's Thursday, February 26th.

Sixty-six degrees at sunrise. That's warmer than some April mornings. Your overnight low barely budged — held at 65 degrees. We're running ten to fifteen degrees above normal. And this warmth is just getting started.

Southeast Louisiana climbs to 76 degrees today under partly sunny skies. Southwest winds gust to 15 miles an hour this afternoon. Up in the Capital Region, you're hitting 78 degrees. A stray shower could pop around midday, but most of you stay dry. Northwest Louisiana takes the prize. Shreveport hits 81 degrees this afternoon. A weak front arrives this evening with a slight chance of showers before 9 P.M.
Tonight's when it gets interesting. That front slides through and brings rain statewide. Southeast Louisiana sees showers between midnight and 5 A.M. The Capital Region gets a window of rain around 4 A.M. Patchy fog develops toward morning. Lows settle in the low to mid 60s south. Northwest Louisiana cools to 53 degrees behind that front.

Friday stays warm with highs in the upper 70s. Keep the umbrella handy. Showers and thunderstorms linger, especially in the morning.

The weekend looks fantastic. High pressure builds in with sunny skies Saturday and Sunday. Highs climb into the upper 70s to low 80s. Next week stays warm with highs near 80 degrees through Wednesday. Our next real rain chance holds off until midweek.

We're gaining nearly two minutes of daylight each day now. Sunrise at 6:35 this morning. Sunset at 6:02 this evening. Spring equinox is just three weeks out.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Louisiana Weather Podcast — it's Wednesday, February 25th.

You woke up to 51 degrees. That's not a typo — we skipped straight past winter and landed in early April.

Down in Southeast Louisiana, you bottomed out at 53 around 5 A.M. By 4 P.M.? You're hitting 73 degrees under mostly sunny skies. South winds running 5 to 15 miles an hour, just enough to feel pleasant. Tonight settles at 64 under mostly cloudy skies.

Head up to the Capital Region and you started at 51 around 5 A.M. By 2 P.M., you're climbing to 74 degrees. Partly sunny with those same gentle south breezes. Tonight drops to 63 degrees.

Northwest Louisiana — you're the hot spot today. Low of 55 around 5 A.M., then rocketing to 81 degrees by 4 P.M. Partly sunny with south winds steady around 12 miles an hour, gusting to 50 miles an hour. That's warm enough to make you question your calendar. Tonight eases to 61.

Thursday keeps the warmth rolling. Southeast hits 77, Capital Region reaches 78, Northwest tops out at 80. All partly sunny with a slight chance of afternoon showers.

But Thursday night? That's when things get interesting. Showers and thunderstorms move in, especially east of I-55. Expect a quarter to three-quarters of an inch, with coastal areas possibly seeing more. Friday morning starts wet, then clears out.

The weekend looks gorgeous. Sunny skies with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s, lows in the 50s. That pattern holds into early next week — temperatures running well above normal for late February.

We're gaining 1 minute and 47 seconds of daylight today. Spring equinox is three weeks out, but honestly? It feels like it's already here.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Louisiana Weather Podcast — it's Tuesday, February 24th.

Step outside right now and you'll feel winter taking its final bow. But stick around.. Because Louisiana's about to crank the heat.

Down in Southeast Louisiana, you're waking up to a freeze warning — 38 degrees at 5 A.M. Dress warmly for that morning commute. But by 4 P.M.? You'll hit 63 degrees under brilliant sunshine. The winds flip from northeast to south around 11 A.M., like someone switched on the warm air. Tonight stays mild at 51 degrees, then keeps climbing overnight.

The Capital Region starts even colder — 33 degrees at 5 A.M. — but rebounds just as fast. You'll reach 63 degrees by 3 P.M. South winds arrive around 10 A.M., pushing overnight lows to 49 degrees.. Then *rising* to 53 by dawn. That's right — temperatures go *up* overnight. Classic Louisiana move.

Northwest Louisiana skips the deep freeze, starting at 33 degrees around 6 A.M. Steady south winds at 12 miles an hour shove you to 68 degrees by 4 P.M. Tonight holds at 53 degrees.

For the week. Wednesday brings a dramatic warm-up — mid-70s statewide. Southeast and Capital Region both hit 74 degrees. Northwest? A toasty 79 degrees. Thursday flirts with 80 and rain chances arrive by evening. Friday through Monday stays warm — upper 70s to low 80s — with mostly sunny skies. Maybe a stray shower Sunday.

Winter's last stand ends today. By Wednesday, we're 32 degrees above normal. And that sunshine? We're gaining nearly 2 minutes of daylight every single day.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Louisiana Weather Podcast — it's Monday, February 23rd.

Alright folks, we need to talk fire danger. A Red Flag Warning is up for most of the state today. North winds gusting to 35 miles an hour, humidity dropping to 20 percent — that's tinder-dry air meeting serious wind. Any spark could take off running. Several parishes already have burn bans. And if you're driving through St. Tammany Parish this morning, heads up for dense smoke near Lacombe until around 10 A.M. Visibility's rough out there.

Now let's talk temps. We're starting mild — 33 degrees in Baton Rouge, 35 in New Orleans — but tonight? We're diving to freezing. North of I32 degrees and I32 degrees, you might wake up to frost on the windshield Tuesday morning.

Here's where it gets wild. By Wednesday, we're flirting with the mid-70s. Thursday could hit 78 degrees in Southeast Louisiana. That's a 40-degree swing in 48 hours. Your closet's about to get a workout.

Southeast Louisiana, you're topping out at 55 degrees around 4 P.M. Today. Winds shift northwest around 2 P.M. Tonight drops to 38 degrees by 5 A.M., then you wake up Tuesday to 62.

Capital Region, same 55-degree high around 2 P.M., but you're colder tonight — 33 degrees by 5 A.M. Winds go northeast around 10 P.M.

Northwest Louisiana, you're coolest this morning at 33, warming to 57 by 5 P.M. Tonight back to 33, with winds shifting northwest around 3 P.M.

The week ahead? Tuesday stays sunny, then Wednesday jumps to the mid-70s. Thursday's cold front brings showers and storms — especially south of I-10 — with rain lingering into Friday morning. The weekend bounces back warm and sunny, mid-70s both days.

One bright spot: sunrise today is 6:39 A.M. We've gained nearly two minutes of daylight since last week. Spring's coming.

Stay safe with those fires today. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Louisiana Weather Podcast — it's Sunday, February 22nd. Winter just kicked the door open and invited itself in.

Right now you're at 48 degrees, but don't get comfortable. A cold front is barreling through with winds hitting 20 miles an hour and gusts up to 40. That Wind Advisory runs until 3 PM across Southeast Louisiana and the Capital Region. But here's the real concern — fire danger is critical today. Humidity's dropping to 20 percent, winds are cranking. And the National Weather Service has a Red Flag Warning up statewide. No outdoor burning. Period. One spark today could turn into a nightmare.

Down in Southeast Louisiana, you'll hit 58 degrees around 3 PM, but those 40 mile an hour gusts will make it feel raw. Tonight drops to 40 by 5 AM, feeling like 34 with the wind. Monday's high is just 54 — jacket weather for sure.

Capital Region tops out at 56 around 1 PM. Tonight you fall to 38 by 4 AM, feeling like 31. Frost is likely Monday morning, so cover those plants.

Northwest Louisiana reaches 58 around 3 PM, then plummets to 35 by 5 AM tonight. Cold enough for a light freeze in spots.

Looking at the week ahead — Monday starts cold with lows near freezing and highs in the mid 50s. Tuesday warms slightly to the low 60s. Then Wednesday through Friday, we rebound big time into the 70s, a few spots near 80. There's a slight rain chance Thursday and Friday, but nothing heavy.

Quick favor — if this helped you plan your day, share it with someone who could use the heads up.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Louisiana Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 17th.

Folks, here's the deal. Louisiana is running two completely different seasons today. Southeast Louisiana woke up feeling like early April. Northwest Louisiana? Still stuck in February's grip.

Down in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, you're looking at 69 degrees this afternoon. Light southwest breeze. Skies mostly clear. It's the kind of Saturday where you leave the jacket in the car and regret nothing. Tonight, temperatures ease into the mid 50s. Calm and comfortable. Perfect for a late dinner on the patio.

Now drive up to Shreveport and the thermometer tells a different story. Highs only hit 50 degrees today. A light northeast wind keeps things cool enough that you'll want a layer. Skies stay clear, though. Tonight, lows drop into the upper 30s. That's nearly 20 degrees colder than the southeast. Same state, two different wardrobes.

Here's what's coming your way this week. The southeast and Capital Region hold onto that warmth through Monday. Highs stay in the upper 60s. Northwest Louisiana plays catch up, climbing back to the mid 50s by Tuesday. A weak front slides through midweek bringing a few clouds, but no rain worth worrying about. By Thursday, the entire state settles into the 60s together. Spring finally wins statewide.

Sunrise today at 6:32 A.M. Sunset at 5:20 P.M. We're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight every day now. Air quality sits at moderate, so if you're sensitive, maybe keep that jog short.

One more thing. If you're enjoying these morning updates, share us with a friend. Word of mouth keeps this thing going.

Bundle up if you're in the northwest. Throw on sunglasses if you're down south. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Louisiana Weather Podcast. It's Friday, February 21st.

Folks, Louisiana is running two completely different seasons right now. The south woke up thinking it's May. The north still knows it's February. Here's the deal.

Down in Southeast Louisiana, you're hitting 80 degrees today. Eighty. In February. Light south wind around 10 miles an hour, mostly sunny skies. Tonight drops to the mid 60s with just a whisper of a shower possible. Tomorrow? Same story. Another 80 degree day. If you're heading to the French Quarter this weekend, sunscreen beats the jacket.

Over in Baton Rouge, it's even warmer. The Capital Region pushes 82 degrees under clear skies. Tonight barely dips into the upper 60s. Saturday brings more of that low 80s warmth. Perfect crawfish boil weather if you ask me.

Now drive north on I-49 and watch the thermometer slide. Northwest Louisiana tops out near 65 today. Still above normal for late February, but 17 degrees cooler than Baton Rouge. A light east breeze keeps things moving. Lows tonight settle into the mid 50s with a slight chance of a shower. Tomorrow nudges closer to 70, but the south keeps its warm weather crown.

Here's what's coming your way this week. The south stays locked in on warm and dry through the weekend. The north runs a touch cooler with a small chance of showers. Early next week, a weak front drifts through bringing a few extra clouds statewide. Maybe a stray shower. Nothing dramatic. Temperatures hold mild, with highs in the 70s to near 80 for most of Louisiana.

Quick note on air quality. It's moderate today, so if you're sensitive, take it easy outdoors. And here's the thing. We're gaining almost 3 minutes of daylight every day now. Sunset at 5:18 this evening. That extra evening light feels earned.

One more thing. If this forecast made your morning a little easier, share it with a friend. Word of mouth keeps us going.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Stay safe out there!
