Hey everybody, this is Alpha! Welcome to my new show Local Histories! No matter how small a town you live in, everyone lives somewhere that has a rich history, and some very interesting stories, that may not have had a wide effect on the country or world, and therefore hardly anyone gets to hear these stories. I want to fix that! So, this is the podcast where I do some light dives into local history that most people don’t know unless they grew up in specific areas.

Even if you aren’t a fan of history, we’ve all heard the same topics or stories. Everything gets gone over multiple times, by multiple people. There are countless documentaries on people like JFK, FDR, or events like the Pearl Harbor bombing, Mt. St. Helen’s blowing up, etc.; but in this show, I’m looking for the history that almost no one knows about in small local areas. We’ll be going over the history of places, events and people, that most people never heard of; Stories of people like Olive Oatman and her family’s massacre. Don Laughlin and how he founded Laughlin, NV just. Or Stories like the US Camel Corps that was used in AZ, the Doxel Disaster in Kingman, AZ; and much more.

Of course, if you have any suggestions for topics, people and places from your local areas, or even if it’s not your local area, if you know of something interesting and not well known, please reach out to me. Leave a comment in the episodes or send me your suggestions to my email, workwithalphag@gmail.com

Everybody stay fabulous!
