Living in the Matrix is a conversation between two long-time friends and curious souls about what it means to live in the world that is often on fire. We seek out and find individuals who are challenging the status quo. We're constantly asking, How do we grow as human beings and push aside the prison that is conformity and certainty. How can we as human beings be more compassionate, loving and courageous. Rich and Jonathan discuss anything that pushes us out of our comfort zones, and tackle it with courage and curiosity. No question is too sensitive to ask.

Our hope is to highlight ideas that can change the world for the better. We discuss politics, science, business, spirituality, and relationships. We might not always agree, and we are always willing to learn and have a lot of fun.

*We use adult language at times.

In this episode, Jonathan interviews Dr. Jennifer Van Allen, the wholeness doctor. We explore so many amazing ideas that inform how our body's nervous system responds to fear and chaos. Dr Van Allen share a deep understanding of what is happening in the body and how we create our own problems through stress. In her words, the body is our physical expression of what we are emotionally feeling. This was an incredible episode.

We explore an incredibly simple process called The Flow Method for realigning the body's natural brain patterns to achieve what the goals we really want to achieve. In doing so, we can rewrite our brain patterns immediately. We also explore the concept of Human Design and the 5 types. You will not be disappointed.

In this episode, Jonathan and Rich interview Cyrus, aka The Mental Level. Cyrus is a practitioner of a simple form of meditation, which he calls the Jeet Kune Do of meditation. And the beauty is anyone can do it. We explore his technique, how simple it is, and even walk through practice to understand how anyone can do it. Cyrus developed it as a way of working through his ADHD, and learned to pull together simple practices that were effective. We also explore the concepts of energy, the head and the heart, and even flow.

If you are looking to overcome your fear of meditation, or to work through certain fears, Cyrus is your guy to get started. His practical advice can be picked up by anyone.

IG: https://www.instagram.com/thementallevel/

The Mental Level Community

How we play the game is a really important aspect of life. Cleburn breaks down the game and how theology and quantum physics work together. The awakening of consciousness is leading us to a new reality.

In this episode, we touch on Jesus, the Matrix, co-creation, Christ consciousness, awakening, the distinction of I Am, fasting, biohacking, being a masculine man who practices love, the end the present age, and more. We dive deep into her story of how she died, left her body, and discovered an entirely different realm of life. This episode blew our minds. Virginia has so many amazing stories of miracles, heartache, loss, but ultimately redeeming them with purpose and healing. She is a firecracker and Virginia has worked in the fields of education, social work, counseling, consulting and motivational speaking for over 30 years. She holds a Masters Degree in Education from Georgetown College, a Teaching Certificate from Eastern Kentucky University, and a B.S. Degree in Social Work from Murray Kentucky University. In 1998, Virginia had a miraculous healing after a major heart attack and near death experience. It was then that she became interested in the mind, body, and spirit connection and the impact these forces can have on one's health and relationship. She has devoted over 20 years to intensive study of meditation, natural healing, and quantum physics and how the electromagnetic field of the human body works in connection with the healing process. In addition to her private consulting business Virginia also teaches workshops on developing strategies to promote a healthy and enriched life.Virginia can be found on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/virginia.drake.39Virginia's Email for coaching: revisions111@roadrunner.com

Mark is a former Royal Navy sailor from the UK who teaches Quantum Thinking to everyday people. His Instagram channel is typically a source of deep knowledge on the practice. Mark discusses how Quantum Thinking allowed him to manifest virtually anything he wanted, only to discover that the purpose was to use it for good.

Mark reached a point where his life had touched bottom. On the verge of suicide, he discovered the power to use manifesting to radically change his life. People can either self-hypnotize with a blessing or a curse.

We dive into Mark's journey of how he learned to manifest consistently through convergence of the head and heart. At one point, he even healed himself of his own heart attack, stumbled onto his dream home, and his favorite car. Mark shares the process anyone can manifest through faith, if they are willing to move beyond belief to faith. We touch on Jesus, Buddha, and many more.

In this fascinating interview, Rich and Jonathan sit down with Byrren Yates, a Vedic meditation practitioner. We explore Byrren's journey from evangelical Christian to nihilistic, to human being. He shares his experience of being abandoned by his parents and living in an orphanage, where he discovered a fundamentalist Christian faith. He lived a safe and moral life until his world came crumbling down when he went through a divorce. As depression took over, he began to reevaluate everything and discovered Vedic meditation. This process helped him separate himself from his depression and begin to rebuild. He explores how meditation allowed him to even experience bliss on a regular basis. If you struggle with depression, this episode will give you hope and a belief that overcoming depression is possible. It will give you the tools to begin the process of believing again.

      <itunes:title>E13: Trinity - Pt 2 (ft David Artman)</itunes:title>

In this second part of meeting with Trinity (David Artman) we dive deep into how we think about God. As David says, "I never really had a problem with Jesus. It was his father." Can we find a God we can start to believe in? Can we find a way to work through all of the pain that comes from our life to make sense of our God image. David shares some amazing stories of working through his own fear of being how good God can be, and if he believed it, would it make him a heretic.

We dive into some really deep theological concepts of how our image of God can create incredibly destructive outcomes like Sally Yates who killed her children to save the from hell. We discuss how most people never see a God that loves more than they can image, and instead get stuck in earning God's love. We take on the goodness of God to redeem everyone and restore everything, how we confront fear of a vengeful God. And we finally dive deep into how universalism allows us to live outside of fear.

This was a powerful episode. If you've ever looked at Christian Universalism, this is the Interview is something to listen to. Grace is ultimately restorative, not retributive.

https://www.davidartman.net/

David's Podcast: https://www.davidartman.net/podcast

      <itunes:title>E12: Trinity - Pt 1 (ft David Artman)</itunes:title>

In the first part of this two part episode, we interview David Artman, author of Grace Saves All. David's book is an elegant treatise on the nature of grace, and it's power to restore everything. This is called Hopeful Christian Universalism. He effectively challenges the status quo that has existed for centuries. But in doing so, he gives every human being a renewed sense of who God is and what is the response to humanity's issues.

Part 1 dives into the heart of the book, the nature of Grace, reconstructing our image of God based on grace, hell, the depth of God's forgiveness, how hard it is to accept God's grace, and historical perspectives, We touch on the mental health crisis and how hell has played a massive role in our mental health.

David's argument is that in grace, everyone is restored (compassion) but no one gets away with it (restorative justice). This episode is meant to challenge your theological perceptions and give our listeners something to chew on, that we think is deeply restorative. David is both humble and ridiculously smart, and we chew on some of the hardest parts of the book.

FYI: We asked David what character he was in The Matrix, and he chose Trinity, which we all thought was perfect. Trinity was the one who believed in love when everything was lost. That fit David's journey perfectly.Website: https://www.davidartman.net/David's Podcast: https://www.davidartman.net/podcast

In this episode, Jonathan shares his emerging theory on how the brain acts like AI to create an understanding of intention and ultimately chaos to manage life. It uses models to construct a theory of how the world works. It defines intention because it's only asking one question. Is this person good or a potential harm. This one act of judging helps us when it's right, but it's wrong a lot. And when we add trauma to it, it creates chaos.
