<itunes:title>S01 E15 - What Is A Limit?</itunes:title>

A limit is a peg, hindrance, or barrier that defines restriction. For example, a SPEED LIMIT restricts the car to a certain speed, even though the car was built for a much higher rate and can move faster than the limit. A LIMIT IS THAT THING THAT DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO MAXIMISE YOUR POTENTIAL. Jeremiah 4 v 3 says, "BREAK UP YOUR FALLOW GROUNDS.TYPES OF LIMITATION:Spiritual limitation – Isaiah 6 v 1 – The Prophet's vision of God had been limited until the year that King Uzziah died.Fear can also limit a Christian from achieving or maximizing his potential. 2 Tim 1 v 7 shows that fear is a spirit. The NIV calls fear a spirit of TIMIDITY.Limitation of the mind (Thinking)– In Numbers 13, when the children of Israel went to spy on the land, 10 out of 12 were limited in their thoughts and perceived themselves as grasshoppers. Thank God for Joshua and Caleb that was not negative or limited in their thinking.Free your thoughts from limitations. Your chance in life and journey to greatness begins with a change in your thinking. Phil 4:8 – Whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, good report, if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things.HOW TO BREAK OUT OF LIMITATION1. The Jabez example: 1 Chronicle 4:9-10 – BY PRAYER: 9 “And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying Because I bare him with sorrow.10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” ⁃ Jabez had a spiritual limitation – he was honorable, well behaved, but he had a BAD LABEL. ⁃ When you look at the prayer he prayed, you can discover the problems he had. ⁃ Bless me indeed: He was not a blessed man. Lack of blessing is lack of material means, no money, living in debts, no job, suffering. A life that is not blessed by God will be experiencing hardship, lack, strife. ⁃ Enlarge my coast: He was limited in everything, no advancement in life, living in the same run-down house for years, could not pay house rent talkless of building his own home. Stagnation, working as an elephant and eating like an ant. ⁃ Thine hand be with me: Jabez could not see the hand of God on his life and what he was doing. He was probably experiencing failure in business, making wrong decisions, constantly losing money, lack of favor because when the hand of God is on you, you will have direction and open doors. ⁃ Keep me from evil: Jabez must have had bad experiences, the same way some of us have or are presently experiencing many corruption and unfavorable occurrences in life. ⁃ Not grieve me: Jabez was unhappy about his life. Today many people have genuine reasons making them sick, but we can copy Jabez by crying out loud to God for a breakthrough. Do not give up and say what will be. Jabez stood out not because of a significant feat he accomplished, but because of A PRAYER REQUEST, HE MADE

S01 E14 - Overcoming Weakness With Strength

      <itunes:title>S01 E14 - Overcoming Weakness With Strength</itunes:title>

1. WE DOWNLOAD GOD’S STRENGTH FROM HIS WORD:He Bible is our gateway to Godwho is the source of our strength. Anytime you feel an absence of strength, prayerful reading of the Word of God is the place to begin to regain strength. 2. WE DOWNLOAD GOD'S STRENGTH FROM WORSHIPNehemiah 8:10- in time of celebration in restored Jerusalem, Nehemiah said to the people “ The joy of the Lord is your strength “. Psalms 59:17- David referred to God as “ my strength”: “ To you, O my Strength, I will sing praises”. There is great strength to be found in worshiping the Lord. 3. WE DOWNLOAD GOD'S STRENGTH BY WAITING Isaiah 40:31- The question is, what does it mean to” wait on the Lord?”- it's a process of yielding our schedule, our desires, our weakness, to God- in at least THREE ways.Slow DownOur lives move fast, sometimes at a breakneck pace( unlike Jesus, who never seemed to be in a hurry! ). When the average speed of life is “fast,” we have to plan times to slow down. But “speed” is both mental and physical. We can arrange physical times to slow down- quiet time with the Lord, relaxed times with family, times for recreation, and so on. But we need to cultivate a mental and emotional speed that is conducive to hearing from the Lord. That means a life of peace instead of worry and anxiety, a life of faith instead of fear. We can be moving fast but thinking slow at the same time- slow enough to hear the Lord and receive His strength. We have to slow down and let God's Word and Spirit catch up with us and regenerate our strength.Get QuietOnce we have learned to slow down, we have the opportunity to get quiet and hear God speaking through His Word and prayer. This was a lesson Jesus modeled for His disciples: He would tell them,”Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”( Mark 6:31).Isaiah 30:15- “ In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength. “Good athletes speed the game up; great athletes slow the game down.” this is true in any game. They have learned to slow down, process what is happening, and go at a controlled pace. Our Savior was never loud, never rushed, never frantic- but was controlled by the Spirit and focused on carrying out His Father’s will. That is the kind of disciple we are to be as well. We need to slow down so we can quiet down- enough to think, consider and pray.PrayUltimately, prayer is the primary channel through which God conveys strength to our lives. Praying without ceasing ( 1 Thessalonians 5:17) covers everything else: time in the Word and worship and waiting in the Lord in quietness. 4. WE DOWNLOAD GOD'S STRENGTH THROUGH WEAKNESS 2 Corinthians 12:7-10. Paul was suffering in some situation ( a “ thorn in the flesh “), which he does not describe. He prayed three times that God would remove it, but the answer was “ No.” instead, God's provision was an abundance of grace, “ for My strength is made perfect n weakness.”Paul camel realizes that there was strength in God's grace when he was weak.We tend to think we are strong, that everything is fine. We stop depending on the Lord. So God allows us to experience times of weakness or need to remind us that He is the real source of our strength. The Cross of Jesus Christ is history’s most powerful example of strength in weakness- the Cross was “ the power of God” ( 1 Corinthians 1:24).The weakness and brokenness of Christ demonstrated the power of God-especially in the Resurrection!- to do what we could not do for ourselves. And the same power and Spirit that “ raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you” if you have given your life to Christ ( Romans 8:11). That power can be revealed in us now and primarily when our mortal bodies are raised from the dead( 1 Corinthians 15:43).Overcoming our weakness with Christ’s strength begins when we confess our weakness to Him and receive His indwelling strength by faith( Galatians 2:20).

<itunes:title>S01 E13 - Are You Ready To Live As An Overcomer?</itunes:title>

Overcoming is a spiritual issue. But the idea of “overcoming” also has a military meaning: to conquer. As members of God’s kingdom, we’re called to conquer the barriers between who we are and who God wants us to be. Ourgoal is to “come over” from where we are today, to flourish as the person God made us to be.The obstacles we must overcome fall into three main categories: sin, the world, and the devil. Our own sinful nature is an obstacle, the temptations of the are an obstacle. And the devil himself is an obstacle.Thankfully, in each case, God has equipped us to overcome every barrier in our path. I think in my estimation, David is the Old Testament’s greatest Overcomer, and he is the poster child for the lessons we are about to learn. David fought a lot of battles during his life, but it’s his first we all remember best - the day he defeated the giant Goliath.

THE OVERCOMER’S CHALLENGE

The story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17 is not just a story about a boy fighting a giant. It’s the conflict of the ages. It’s the story of the battle that raged since Satan first rebelled against God. The story of good versus evil; the challenge to the living God by the devil and his forces. But first, how did these two unlikely opponents get there?Let’s start with Goliath. The Bible specifically calls Goliath the champion of the Philistines and tells us he came from Gath, one of the five great Philistine cities, a home of giants. (2 SAMUEL 21:19-22).Gath is the place the spies referred to when they returned to Moses with an evil report about the promise land. It was in Gath, according to the unbelieving spies, that giants existed – giants so huge that next to them they felt like grasshoppers.

      <itunes:title>S01 E11 - Father, Where Are You?</itunes:title>

Characteristics of Present Fathers:

1. Fathers who are present or show up in their children's lives will pray for them. Pray for your children for guidance. Not just your own career and businesses.1 Chronicle 29:19-21There are things that God will speak to you in your present generation that will be fulfilled in your children's generation. There things that God will speak to your children that will be fulfilled in their children generation. Solomon was prayed for by his father, David. Can your children say you have been praying for them? Get into their room and spend time with them as you pray for them. The greatness of Solomon can be attributed to the prayers his father prayed for him not just his success and hardwork. The challenge is “ PRAY FOR YOUR CHILDREN”.

2. The father that shows up loves their children. Can your children say that they know you love them? Loves means Compassion, tenderness. Psalm 103:13. Love can be felt.

4. Father's that shows up bless their children - it is great to be blessed by God, but it is more excellent or sweeter for the father to be a channel that activated God's blessings. Bless your children. Abraham bless Isaac and Isaac bless Jacob!

5. Fathers that show up Teach their children. This where discipline comes in. Teach, model, shape and discipline your children. Proverbs 22:6- where there is a departure means training was absent. Genesis 18:19- teach them why things are done this way. Obeying what you say is not enough. Proverbs 13:24. Teach, Train!

6. Fathers that show up protect their children psalms 121:5-7 God our Father defend us. You cannot experiment with the life of your children. I had to withdraw my children from the school I felt was not in my children's interest. I showed up often in their school to find out how my children were doing. My wife and I had to withdraw our children from people who were not in the best interest of our children. They don't just go anywhere! Protect your children.

6. Father that shows up are confidant to their children. Trusted friend or person. Proverbs 3:5-6 and John 15:15 7. Father that shows up commend their children. Not secretor personal commendation but openly or publicly commendation. Matthew 3:17 and Philippians 2:5-11. Have your children ever heard you commending them publicly. Commend all your children publicly in the areas of their strength.

8. Fathers that show up are role models for their children. 2 Corinthians 3:2-3. Role model as you study. Proverbs 20:7

9. Fathers that show up spend time with their children. You are investing your time in them. Deuteronomy 6:6-9. Spend time with your children. Create affirmation posted on the doorposts.

10. Father's that show up don't provoke their children. Ephesians 6:4. It is two-way. You can correct and discipline.

11.Father that shows up encourage their children. Colossians 3:21.

12.Father's that show up provide for their children. Put your children first. The provisions for your children should be a priority. 1 Timothy 5:8 13. Fathers that's how up. Don't give up on the children. Luke 15:20- the prodigal son.

It imparts the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14) 3. It prepares for adoption or son-placing ( Galatians 4:4-5; Romans 8:23) 4. It purifies a people for God's possession, zealous of good works(2 Samuel 7:23; Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 2:9) 5. It makes us God's property, not our own ( Isaiah 43:1; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20) 6. It enables us to find the new song, the song of redemption ( Revelation 5:9) 7. It delivers from fear ( Isaiah 41:10-14; 43:1) 8. It brings joy and a holy walk, even as it will bring the same to Israel ( Isaiah35:8-10; 51:11; 62:12)

The truths of REDEMPTION and ATONEMENT are two of the cardinal doctrines of the Christian faith.*Redemption and the atonement are the basis for generation, justification, sanctification, reconciliation, and all the doctrines of grace. Redemption is the grand plan of God, and it covers the work of God in Christ. The Bible is filled with redemption. The theme of all Scripture is Jesus Christ, but the message of the Bible is redemption. Being a Christian, a redeemed person places responsibility and an obligation always to glorify the Father because we have been bought with a price. The price paid for our redemption was the shed blood of Jesus Christ - the only thing and the only person who could redeem sinful man. We must be willing to proclaim His Word, tell of His saving grace, live a life to portray the life of a redeemed person.

When you focus on God’s path for your life-

- His Purpose

-His Perspective

-Forget your past successes and Forget your past mistakes

- His Plan and

- His Prize

- He will guide you on your journey. You can seize each day for Christ without being hindered by your past or hobbled by your present. Day by Day, as we focus on the one thing Christ wants us to do, we’ll become effective for Him in serving our generation.

1. Focus on God’s PurposePhilippians 3:12- That is God’s ultimate purpose for all of us. Don’t allow your past to control you or today’s chaos to distract you from focusing on God before you!

2. Focus on God’s PerspectivePhilippians 3:13- Paul is talking about seeing life through God’s eyes.

There are two areas we should put behind us- our successes and our failures.

A. Forget Your Past Successes:- First forgetting what’s behind means forgetting past successes. Here was the great apostle who accomplished more in his lifetime than most of us could achieve in ten lifetimes, and he said in effect, “I have not yet arrived.”

B. Forget Your Past Mistakes:- We need to forget those things that haunt us. There are things in our lives that we should decide to put behind us, to forget. What things in our past could we choose to forget?

3. Focus on God’s PlanPaul becomes more specific, moving from our perspective to our plans- “reaching forward to those things which are ahead” (Philippians 3:13).- God’s purpose for all of us is the same- to become more like Jesus. But His plans for each of us are unique, and we have to reach forward to find and fulfill them.

4.Focus on God’s PrizePhilippians 3:14- To live a focused life, fix your attention on heaven and the reward that awaits us there. “Well done good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21). “The crown of righteousness” (2 Timothy 4:8). The prize of the upward calling of God in Christ Jesus is eternal. Keeping your eyes on the prize is the motivation that keeps you going. We have to passionately seek to move forward toward God’s plan for the next phase of life.
