Jamestown Ope’n Forum is a conversation about Jamestown, North Dakota, told by the people who live it, work in it, and help shape where it is going.

Hosted by staff from the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce and Jamestown Tourism, this podcast pulls up a chair for honest conversations about business, community life, leadership, events, and the ideas that keep Jamestown moving forward. Sometimes the discussion is practical. Sometimes it is reflective. Sometimes it is just plain fun. It is always grounded in this place and the people who call it home.

Each episode brings together voices from across the community. You will hear from local business owners, nonprofit leaders, city staff, board members, event organizers, and community partners like Jamestown Stutsman Development Corporation, Jamestown Parks and Recreation, and the City of Jamestown. You might also hear from visitors passing through, residents with a great story to tell, or people whose work often happens behind the scenes.

The goal is simple. Help listeners better understand how Jamestown works and why it matters.

Jamestown Ope’n Forum is not a news broadcast and it is not a lecture. It is a table conversation. The format is flexible by design. Sometimes one host leads the discussion. Sometimes two. Sometimes the conversation runs tight. Sometimes it wanders into unexpected territory. That openness is intentional. Growth does not happen in straight lines, and good conversations rarely follow a script.

Along the way, you will hear a few recurring segments when the moment fits.

Listeners can expect episodes that touch on upcoming events, community projects, workforce topics, leadership lessons, local history, and the everyday realities of running businesses and organizations in a place like Jamestown. You will also hear laughter, side comments, and moments that feel a little like being in the room with the group. That is on purpose.

The name Jamestown Ope’n Forum is a nod to North Dakota culture and the idea that this space is open. Open to questions. Open to ideas. Open to different perspectives. You do not need to be a business owner, a Chamber member, or a lifelong resident to listen. If you are curious about Jamestown or interested in how communities grow, you are welcome here.

Pull up a chair. Listen in. And if you catch yourself saying “ope” along the way, you are probably in the right place.
