<itunes:title>🚨 HIGH WIND WARNING - Idaho Weather 3/14 - Evening</itunes:title>

Good evening. Idaho. I'm Michael Mosby.

Folks, hold onto your hats—literally. We've a High Wind Warning in effect for the Upper Snake River Plain and the Southwest Highlands until 9 P.M. Northwest winds are howling, with gusts potentially hitting 60 miles an hour, while that creates dangerous crosswinds for high-profile vehicles. And visibility could drop near zero in blowing dust, if you're traveling on Interstate 15, use extreme caution. Also, keep an eye on the Palouse River near Potlatch—there's a Flood Warning in effect until late tonight.

Down in the Treasure Valley, skies clear out tonight with a low dropping to 28 degrees. Winds remain gusty, hitting 32 miles an hour, sunday looks mostly sunny and milder, climbing to near 50 degrees. Clouds roll back in Sunday night with a low of 39.

Eastern Idaho faces the strongest winds, you might see blowing dust before midnight, but skies become mostly clear. Expect a low of 24 degrees with northwest gusts to 48 miles an hour. Sunday brings sunshine and cooler highs near 41 degrees, clouds return Sunday night with lows around 31.

Northern Idaho has a slight chance of snow showers this evening. Skies turn partly cloudy as the overnight low falls to a chilly 19 degrees. Sunday features partly sunny skies and a high near 41, snow chances return late Sunday night with lows around 34.

In Here's big story, winter is leaving in a hurry, a major warm-up starts Monday, pushing highs into the 60s statewide. Tuesday kicks off an early season heat wave. We're talking upper 70s to low 80s in the valleys—that's 20 to 25 degrees above normal. Record highs are threatened from Tuesday through Saturday, expect mostly sunny and dry conditions. It will feel more like June than March.

Looking ahead. If you've winter tires, maybe keep them on through the windy night. —

See you tomorrow.

      <itunes:title>Idaho Weather 3/9 Morning - Wind Advisory</itunes:title>

Good morning. Idaho. I'm Michael Mosby.

If you step outside right now, you'll feel it. That wind isn't messing around.

A Pacific cold front blew through overnight. And now the pressure gradient is cranking up gusts statewide. This is the kind of wind that rattles patio furniture and makes steering feel like a workout.

Down in the Treasure Valley, you're waking up to 42 degrees and sunshine. Looks innocent enough. But by this afternoon, northwest winds gust to 35 miles an hour. Tonight drops to 30 degrees under clouds. Tuesday rebounds to 46 with partly sunny skies.

Eastern Idaho gets the worst of it. Sunny today with a high near 54 degrees, but southwest winds scream at 14 to 35 miles an hour. Gusts could hit 48. That's strong enough to make high-profile vehicles tough to handle. If you're driving a truck or SUV, grip that wheel. Tonight stays breezy with lows around 31 degrees. Tuesday brings partly sunny skies and a high near 42, still windy with gusts to 38.

Northern Idaho sees snow showers rolling through today. Sixty percent chance. Highs near 41 degrees with southwest winds gusting to 22 miles an hour. Less than half an inch expected, but mountain passes could get slick. Tonight stays snowy with lows around 28 degrees. Tuesday brings a 40 percent chance of snow and a high near 40.

Looking ahead. Wednesday warms nicely. Mid-50s in the Treasure Valley. But another round of strong winds hits Thursday and Saturday. Rain chances increase Wednesday night into Thursday, especially up north. Temperatures stay above normal through the weekend, climbing into the low to mid-60s by Friday.

In We're gaining three minutes of daylight today. Sunrise at 8, 09 A.M., sunset at 7:44 P.M. Spring equinox is just 11 days out.

Take it slow if you're driving today. Crosswinds will catch you off guard.

See you this afternoon.

Good afternoon. Idaho. I'm Matt Mullins.

Spring forward tonight, folks. Clocks jump ahead one hour at 2 A.M. and with the spring equinox just 12 days out, we're gaining daylight fast. Sunrise hits 8:10 this morning, sunset at 7:43 tonight.

Step outside right now and you're feeling 54 degrees. That mild start? It's not sticking around.

Down in the Treasure Valley, sunshine owns the day. Boise climbs to 66 degrees with light south winds around 5 miles an hour. Perfect weather for getting outside before the week shifts gears.

Eastern Idaho runs cooler at 56 degrees, but breezy southwest winds pick up to 16 to 21 miles an hour with gusts hitting 33. If you're driving something tall, those cross winds will push you around.

Northern Idaho? That's where the action is. Rain likely today with a 70 percent chance, peaking around 3 P.M. Temperatures reach 53 degrees before tumbling this afternoon. Southwest winds gust to 32 miles an hour.

Tonight, a cold front drops south. The Valley cools to 41 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Eastern Idaho dips to 40 degrees with gusty winds continuing. Northern Idaho plunges to 31 degrees with rain mixing to snow after 11 P.M. Monday brings cooler conditions statewide. The Valley reaches only 52 degrees under partly sunny skies. Eastern Idaho tops out at 54 degrees with southwest winds roaring to 15 to 29 miles an hour — gusts could hit 44. Northern Idaho sees snow likely after 8 A.M., with highs near 40 degrees.

Tuesday stays cool behind the front, with highs in the low 40s and gusty winds continuing. Wednesday warms back into the mid 50s. Thursday and Friday bring mild 60s to the Valley, but northern mountains see persistent rain and snow chances. Winds remain elevated all week.

Don't forget to set those clocks forward tonight. You'll lose an hour of sleep but gain an hour of evening daylight.

See you this evening.

Good morning. Idaho. I'm Michael Nally.

Spring forward tonight. Clocks jump ahead one hour at 2 A.M., so you'll lose an hour of sleep. But here's your consolation prize: sunset doesn't arrive until 7:43 P.M. Tonight. We're gaining daylight fast now.

Step outside this morning and you'll feel 43 degrees. Mild for early March. But the real star today? The wind. A Wind Advisory blankets Northern Idaho through 9 P.M., with gusts punching to 50 miles an hour. Down in the Treasure Valley, expect gusts hitting 30 this afternoon. If you're driving anything tall or boxy, take it slow.

Temperatures climb fast. The Treasure Valley tops out at 66 degrees under sunny skies. Eastern Idaho reaches 56, though patchy fog lingers until 9 A.M. Northern Idaho hits 53, but rain likely moves in by afternoon — 70 percent chance — with less than a tenth of an inch expected.

Tonight, a cold front crashes the party. The Treasure Valley drops to 41 degrees. Eastern Idaho falls to 40 with gusty southwest winds continuing. Northern Idaho sees the biggest change — plunging to 31 degrees with a chance of rain and snow after 11 P.M. Monday brings the cooldown. The Treasure Valley reaches only 52 degrees. Eastern Idaho hits 54 but winds gust to 44 miles an hour. Northern Idaho struggles to 40 degrees with snow likely after 8 A.M. — accumulations under half an inch.

Here's your week ahead. Tuesday brings the coldest punch — low 40s with gusty winds. Wednesday warms back to the mid 50s. Thursday looks windy again with low 60s and a slight chance of rain. The pattern holds through the weekend — mild temperatures, breezy conditions, occasional showers favoring the north.

Enjoy that extra daylight tonight before you lose that hour of sleep.

See you this afternoon.

Good evening. Idaho. I'm Michael Nally.

Step outside today and you’ll feel that classic early March tease. Sunshine has temperatures pushing toward 54 degrees, almost feeling like spring. But don't get too comfortable. This weekend is a tale of two Idahos.

The Treasure Valley steals the show. You’re waking up to 40 degrees, but this afternoon you’ll hit a stunning 66 — that’s 24 degrees above normal. Clear skies stick around with just a whisper of east wind at 5 miles an hour. Sunday is a carbon copy. But Monday? Reality checks in. A cold front drops highs to 54. And northwest winds gust to 14 miles an hour. By Monday night, you’re back to 29. That's a 37-degree swing in 24 hours.

Eastern Idaho starts cooler at 36 degrees. Patchy fog creeps in after 10 PM tonight. Sunday afternoon warms to 56, but watch out. A Wind Advisory is in effect from 8 AM to 9 PM. Southwest gusts hit 32 miles an hour — strong enough to toss around patio furniture. Monday brings a sharp cooldown. Highs plummet to 42. And by Tuesday morning you wake up to 24. That’s a 32-degree drop from Sunday’s peak.

Northern Idaho is the outlier. You’re stuck at 45 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. Rain moves in by 5 AM Sunday, then turns to snow as temperatures crash. By Sunday night. Coeur d’Alene drops to 31 with rain and snow likely. Accumulations stay under half an inch, but slick roads are guaranteed. The real story? Snow is likely every single day through next Saturday. If you’re heading over Lookout Pass, pack chains. Winter isn’t done with you yet.

Looking ahead, the rollercoaster continues. Tuesday and Wednesday bring gusty winds statewide — up to 45 miles an hour in exposed areas. Eastern Idaho warms up Thursday to 57, but the Panhandle stays stuck in the 40s with daily snow chances.

Enjoy the sunshine today, but keep the snow brush handy. See you tomorrow.

      <itunes:title>Idaho Weather 3/7 Morning - Spring Tease, Freeze Please</itunes:title>

Good morning. Idaho. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside this morning and you’ll feel it—that damp, heavy air hanging over the state. Classic early March: gray skies, temperatures stuck in the 40s. And the kind of overcast that makes you wonder if the sun still exists. But here’s the twist—this isn’t your typical chilly weekend. Idaho is split right down the middle today.

Folks in the Treasure Valley, you’re the lucky ones. Highs climb to **54 degrees** this afternoon—that’s **25 degrees above normal** for early March—under partly sunny skies. Light north winds at **5 miles an hour** mean it’ll feel pleasant, almost balmy. Tonight dips to **39**, but Sunday? **65 degrees.** Yes, you read that right. Spring teases early here, with sunshine sticking around all day. Perfect for a bike ride or that first outdoor lunch of the season.

Head east toward Idaho Falls and you’ll want to hold onto your hat—literally. Winds howl out of the southwest at **14 miles an hour**, gusting to **23**, while temps struggle to **44 degrees** under mostly cloudy skies. Patchy fog rolls in tonight with lows near **35**, but don’t be fooled—those winds make it feel like **28 degrees** by mid-morning. Sunday brings a brief reprieve with highs near **55**, but gusts return to **31 miles an hour**. Farmers, take note: those gusts could kick up dust on freshly tilled fields.

Up north, it’s a different story. Rain moves in by late morning, sticking around until **4 P.M.** Highs hit **56**, but that’s before the bottom drops out. Temps plummet to **45** tonight, then **freeze** by Sunday morning as rain turns to snow. Yes, snow. By Monday. Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint could see light accumulations, with highs barely scraping **42**. This isn’t just a cold snap; it’s a full-blown winter relapse.

Looking ahead, that Canadian cold front arrives Tuesday with **gusty winds** from **20 to 30 miles an hour** and a **25 degrees temperature drop**. But don't get too comfortable—by Thursday, temps rebound to the **upper 50s and 60s** in the south, while the north stays stuck in the **40s** with a rain-and-snow mix.

Spring officially arrives in **13 days**, but Idaho’s weather isn’t ready to commit. Pack layers, watch for sudden wind gusts. And if you’re heading north, toss the snow brush back in the car. This week’s a rollercoaster—hold on tight.

See you tomorrow.

See you this afternoon.

Good morning. Idaho. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Step outside right now and you're met with 33 degrees and a blanket of gray. Classic early March gloom. But here's the twist. High pressure is marching in to flip this gloomy start into something much better.

Down in the Treasure Valley, you're climbing to 51 degrees today. Those overcast skies break apart, letting sunshine take over. Northwest winds run 5 to 12 miles an hour — nothing dramatic. Tonight drops to 36 under partly cloudy skies.

Eastern Idaho hits 44 degrees, though temperatures ease back to 42 by afternoon. Northwest winds pick up, gusting to 20 miles an hour. Tonight's low lands at 26 degrees with partly cloudy conditions.

Northern Idaho starts foggy at 33 degrees this morning. You'll reach 45 today, but rain moves in after 1 P.M. With a 30 percent chance. Tonight brings likely rain with temperatures rising to 42 overnight. Saturday stays cloudy with a 50 percent chance of rain and a high near 53.

Saturday brings mostly cloudy skies statewide with highs in the low 50s. Sunday turns gorgeous. Sunny skies push the Treasure Valley to 65 degrees — the warmest day of the week. Eastern Idaho hits 54, while Northern Idaho sees rain likely with highs near 53.

Monday through Wednesday brings a pattern shift. A Canadian trough drops south, bringing gusty winds and cooler temperatures. Northern Idaho faces snow chances Monday and Tuesday with highs in the low 40s. The Treasure Valley stays mostly dry but breezy, with highs falling from the mid 50s Monday to upper 40s Tuesday. Wednesday warms back up with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Spring equinox is just 14 days away. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight daily.

Good afternoon. Idaho. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Winter's throwing one last tantrum before it leaves. We woke up to a trace of snow and 44 degrees under gray skies. But the real story today? Wind.

In the next 24 hours., A Wind Advisory stays in effect through 8 P.M. Across south central Idaho. Gusts could slam 50 miles an hour in the Upper Treasure Valley. Western Magic Valley. And Camas Prairie. If you're driving anything tall — RV, semi, horse trailer — white-knuckle it. Boise's already feeling northwest winds at 14 miles an hour with gusts near 30.

Rain's making a cameo too. The Treasure Valley sees a 30 percent chance between 2 P.M. and 4 P.M. — quick showers, nothing major. Eastern Idaho gets the messy stuff. Rain and snow mix from 2 P.M. Through 8 P.M., with an 82 percent chance around 2 P.M. Up in Coeur d'Alene, rain peaks at 45 percent this afternoon before fading.

Temperature-wise. Boise hits 50 degrees. Eastern Idaho struggles to 39. Northern Idaho reaches 48. Tonight, the bottom drops out. Boise falls to 31. Eastern Idaho crashes to 27 — feels like 20 around 7 A.M. Northern Idaho settles at 33.

Friday brings relief. Winds die down. Skies turn partly sunny. Boise and Northern Idaho both hit 50 degrees. Eastern Idaho climbs to 43.

For the weekend. Saturday warms to the mid-40s and 50s. Sunday? Even better. Boise hits 65 degrees. Eastern and Northern Idaho reach 54. Spring equinox is two weeks out. And we're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight each day.

But Monday flips the script. A cold front barrels in with gusty winds and mountain snow. Temperatures crash back to the 40s and 50s.

Secure anything loose outside before those winds crank up tonight.

Good morning. Idaho. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Eastern Idaho is getting hammered right now. Snow came down heavy overnight from Pocatello north to Rexburg. You're looking at 1 to 2 inches already on the ground. And it's not done yet. The morning commute is a mess, so slow down and give yourself extra time. That snow flips to rain this afternoon as temperatures climb to 39 degrees. The Centennial Mountains and Island Park? They're in for the real show — another 4 to 7 inches before this wraps up. A Winter Weather Advisory runs until 3 P.M. There.

In the next 24 hours. And the wind. The Magic Valley and South Hills are getting absolutely blasted with gusts to 55 miles an hour through this evening. That's the kind of wind that'll toss your trash cans into next week.

Treasure Valley catches a break today. A slight chance of mixed precipitation this morning, then partly sunny with a high near 49 degrees. Winds gust to 26 miles an hour this afternoon. Tonight, skies clear and temperatures drop to 30 degrees.

Northern Idaho sees patchy fog this morning with a chance of rain. Highs reach 48 degrees. Rain and snow chances linger tonight with a low of 33 degrees.

Friday brings calmer conditions statewide. Treasure Valley hits 50 degrees under partly sunny skies. Eastern Idaho clears out with a high of 42. Northern Idaho stays unsettled with rain chances hanging around.

The weekend looks fantastic. Temperatures climb into the mid-50s Saturday and could hit 64 degrees in the Treasure Valley by Sunday. That's about 25 degrees above normal for early March. Spring is knocking on the door — we're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight each day now.

If you're heading out this morning. The wind makes everything feel colder than it's.

Good evening. Idaho. I'm Aaron Jolly.

That steady drumming on your roof? That was about a third of an inch of rain overnight. And the sky isn't finished yet. A cold front is charging through right now, slicing the state into two different worlds.

In the next 24 hours. Down in the Treasure Valley, you're sitting at 36 degrees with more rain on the way. Here's the strange part — thunderstorms develop after 9 P.M. Tonight. That's pretty wild for early March. Some of those storms could pack gusty outflow winds to 45 miles an hour. You hold at 36 degrees tonight.

Push east and the story turns wintry fast. Eastern Idaho is right at 32 degrees where rain mixes with snow overnight. The Bear River Range takes the hardest hit — expect 6 to 12 inches of snow through Thursday night. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect, so Thursday morning's commute could get messy along the Snake River Plain.

Up north. Northern Idaho lands in the middle. You're at 36 degrees with rain chances lingering through Thursday. No major piles of snow, but you'll want that umbrella nearby.

Thursday afternoon brings a dramatic change. Skies clear from west to east. Treasure Valley warms to 49 degrees with gusty northwest winds. Eastern Idaho stays cooler at 41 degrees with snow showers tapering off.

The week ahead tells a much nicer story. Highs climb into the mid-50s by Saturday. Sunday looks fantastic — 63 degrees in the Treasure Valley with mostly sunny skies. That's about 24 degrees warmer than usual for early March. Another system rolls in early next week, bringing rain and mountain snow back by Tuesday.

One last thing — tonight's full moon has a fight on its hands trying to shine through these clouds. Sunrise is at 7:17 A.M. and we're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight every day. Spring is getting close.

You step outside right now and it feels downright springlike with that mild 51 degrees. But don't get comfortable. A strong cold front is barreling through Idaho today. And it's bringing a little bit of everything.

In the next 24 hours. The Treasure Valley sees the most drama. Thunderstorms fire up by late morning with gusts hitting 23 miles an hour. We're talking a quarter to half an inch of rain, followed by a brutal temperature crash. You'll drop from 54 degrees this afternoon down to 35 by morning. That's a 26 degrees-degree freefall.

Head north and it's just a solid soaker. Northern Idaho stays stuck in the 40s with steady rain through this evening. You could see up to half an inch up there.

Eastern Idaho starts quiet with partly sunny skies and highs near 54. But tonight the rain flips to snow. Valley accumulations stay light, but the Bear River Range gets hammered — 6 to 12 inches of snow above pass level. A Winter Weather Advisory kicks in at 11 P.M. Tonight.

Thursday turns blustery statewide. Northwest winds crank up, gusting to 50 miles an hour from Mountain Home eastward. A Wind Advisory is posted for the Upper Treasure Valley. Magic Valley. And Camas Prairie from 11 A.M. To 8 P.M. Thursday.

The weekend looks much nicer. High pressure builds in. Saturday warms to the mid-50s. Sunday? We could hit 64 degrees in Boise — that's about 26 degrees above normal for early March. Spring equinox is just 16 days away. And Sunday will feel like it.

Another cold front arrives early next week, but until then. Enjoy tonight's full moon between the rain showers.

Good evening. Idaho. I'm Aaron Jolly.

Right now? Fifty four degrees under crystal clear skies. Gorgeous. Soak that in on your evening walk. Because a cold front is loading up to our northwest like a freight train.

In the next 24 hours. An upper level trough is digging into the Pacific Northwest tonight, pulling moisture ahead of it. Northern Idaho feels it first. Rain develops overnight with temperatures settling near 43 degrees. Down in the Treasure Valley, you're looking at partly cloudy skies and a mild low of 44 degrees. Southeast winds around 9 miles an hour. Nothing dramatic. Over in eastern Idaho, the quietest corner tonight. Partly cloudy, low near 31 degrees. Grab a jacket if you're stargazing under that full moon.

Wednesday is where the story gets interesting. That cold front sweeps southeast across the state like a curtain closing on spring. The Treasure Valley sees showers and thunderstorms rolling in after 11 A.M. Highs touch 55 degrees, then nosedive to 45 by afternoon. Gusty south winds push to 21 miles an hour. Eastern Idaho stays dry longer. Rain doesn't arrive until after 5 P.M., with highs near 54 degrees.

Northern Idaho? Gets soaked all day. High of just 46 degrees.

Wednesday night, colder air floods in behind the front. Snow levels crash to four thousand feet. Eastern Idaho watches rain turn to snow with lows near 33 degrees. The Treasure Valley drops to 35 with lingering storms.

Looking ahead. Thursday turns blustery. We're talking westerly gusts hitting 50 miles an hour across the Snake Plain. That wind will rearrange your patio furniture. Friday brings clearing skies. Then high pressure builds through the weekend, pushing temperatures back into the sixties by Sunday. Classic Idaho spring rollercoaster.

Oh. And we're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight every single day now. That light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter, folks.

I'll be tracking that front all night. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.

Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz.

Spring is knocking on the door. Right now you're sitting at 37 degrees under clear skies, but the warmth is just getting started.

In the next 24 hours.,

A Pacific system is sliding in from California. That's what's bringing clouds this afternoon and a real taste of spring. Down in the Treasure Valley, you'll hit 59 degrees today. That's 26 degrees warmer than normal for late February. Soak in the sunshine while you've got it. Because rain rolls in around 5 P.M. It picks up overnight, heaviest around 11 P.M. Push east and you're starting at 31 degrees this morning. That wind makes it feel like 24 degrees early on, so Dress warmly for the dog walk. but by afternoon you'll reach 51 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Rain doesn't show up until after 4 A.M. Sunday.

Northern Idaho gets the best deal this weekend. Mostly sunny today with a high of 49 degrees. Tonight drops to 30 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Sunday stays dry with 52 degrees.

Here's your week ahead. Tuesday is the star of the show. Mid 60s possible in the Snake Basin. Almost spring-like. but don't pack away the winter coat just yet. A potent cold front barrels in Wednesday. Snow levels crash to 3500 feet by Thursday. Winter's making a comeback.

One more thing. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight today. Sunrise at 7:24 A.M., sunset at 6:33 P.M. Spring equinox is just 20 days out.

Today's your day to get outside. Tomorrow? Maybe a good day for indoor projects.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Idaho Weather Podcast — it's Thursday, February 26th.

Yesterday's drizzle washed the slate clean. Just a trace of rain, but enough to settle the dust and leave everything feeling fresh. Now the sun's taking over.

Step outside in Boise this morning and you're at 31 degrees under clear skies. By afternoon? You'll hit a gorgeous 53 degrees with barely a whisper of wind. Perfect day to skip the gym and walk at lunch instead.

Push north and the wind picks up. Northern Idaho wakes up at 30 degrees, but it'll feel like 24 around 7 A.M. thanks to that stiff south breeze. Gusts hit 26 miles an hour today as temperatures climb to 44 degrees. Your hair's getting styled whether you like it or not.

Eastern Idaho gets the windiest deal. Morning feels like 29 degrees — that's the kind of cold that makes you reconsider every life choice. Actual temps sit at 29 degrees. Southwest winds gust to 29 miles an hour, enough to make your jacket flap like a flag. Highs reach 45 degrees under brilliant sunshine.

Tonight stays partly cloudy everywhere. Lows settle into the upper 20s to low 30s.

Friday cranks up the warmth. Boise hits 57 degrees. The rest of the state climbs into the mid-40s to low 50s.

Here's your week ahead. Quiet weather holds through Friday. Saturday afternoon brings a weak system with a chance of rain showers that lingers into Sunday before clearing Monday. Temperatures climb into the upper 50s and low 60s by early next week — about 29 degrees to 29 degrees above normal for late February. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight each day now. Spring's three weeks out.

Enjoy the sunshine today. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Idaho Weather Podcast — it's Wednesday, February 25th.

That drumming on your roof last night? Nearly half an inch of rain. Your commute probably felt like driving through a car wash.

Here's what happens next.

**Treasure Valley**, your rain wraps up by 10 A.M. after one last push around 4 A.M. You'll hit 53 degrees right around 2 P.M. Then the bottom drops out.. Plunging to 34 by 4 A.M. tomorrow. That's a 29 degrees crash in 14 hours. Winds flip from east to south around 6 A.M. Tonight clears out with lows near 30.

**Eastern Idaho**, you're in for a wild ride. Rain keeps coming from 5 A.M. through 4 P.M. Highs reach 50 around 2 P.M. But those southwest winds are the real story.. Screaming at 23 miles an hour with gusts hitting 50. A High Wind Watch covers the Snake River Plain and Magic Valley. The Winter Weather Advisory is up for the Bear River Range and Big Hole Mountains where snow piles up above 7000 feet. By 1 A.M., wind chills crash to 29 degrees.

**Northern Idaho**, you get mixed precipitation from 4 A.M. to 7 A.M. Bottoming out at 33 around 7 A.M., then climbing to 40 by 3 P.M. Winds shift southwest to south around 9 A.M.
The payoff comes Thursday and Friday. High pressure locks in sunshine and mid-50s. A weak system sneaks in shower chances Saturday and Sunday. Then early next week brings spring warmth.. Valleys pushing 60 degrees.

We're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight daily now. Sunrise at 7:29, sunset at 6:29.

If your basement's feeling damp after last night, now's the time to check it.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Idaho Weather Podcast — it's Tuesday, February 24th.

Step outside and you'll feel it.. That damp, clingy air that means business. We're at 47 degrees with drizzle, but this is just the warm-up act. An atmospheric river is barreling into Idaho today. And it's packing serious moisture.

**Treasure Valley, you're in for a soaker.** Rain starts at 4 A.M. And doesn't quit until 4 A.M. Wednesday. That's 24 straight hours. The heaviest stuff hits around 5 A.M., right when you're stumbling to the coffee maker. We bottom out at 42 degrees early, then crawl to 49 by 4 P.M. Winds flip from southeast to west around 1 A.M., which should finally shove this system out. Wednesday brings relief — mostly sunny, 54 degrees, though a stray shower could sneak in before 11 A.M.

**Eastern Idaho, buckle up.** Winter weather advisories are up for the Big Hole Mountains, Bear River Range. And Sawtooths. Six to 12 inches of snow above 7,000 feet. Down in Idaho Falls and Pocatello? Rain-snow mix this morning, all rain by midday. Highs only hit 43, but it feels like 25 around 6 A.M. Thanks to south-southwest winds at 22 miles an hour, gusting to 39. Tonight those winds ramp up to 29, gusting near 40. Wednesday's even wilder — gusts to 47 miles an hour with rain and snow before clearing.

**Northern Idaho, winter's not done.** Snow likely before 10 A.M., especially around Lookout Pass and Fourth of July Pass. Three to 6 inches possible. Advisories up until 11 A.M. Highs struggle to 41. Tonight brings a rain-snow mix again.

**The week ahead?** We dry out Thursday and Friday, then flirt with 60 degrees by early next week. Yes, 60. That's 28 degrees above normal.

Umbrellas up, folks. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Idaho Weather Podcast — it's Monday, February 23rd.

Right now, Idaho is living three separate weather lives. The Treasure Valley woke up to 51 degrees at midnight. Northern Idaho is already soaked from steady rain. And Eastern Idaho? A crisp 23 degrees with frost everywhere.

Let's start in the Treasure Valley. You'll hit 59 degrees by 2 P.M. Under mostly cloudy skies. That's 23 degrees warmer than normal for late February. Because rain moves in after 11 P.M. Tonight. By midnight, steady showers arrive. Tuesday brings another half to three-quarters of an inch, making for a soggy commute. Wednesday finally dries out, with sunshine returning Thursday and highs climbing back to 54.

Eastern Idaho, you're the cold spot today. Starting at 23, you'll only reach 46 by afternoon. But the real story is wind. Tonight, southwest gusts ramp up to 20 to 30 miles an hour. Higher elevations could see 40. Rain and snow mix in by early Tuesday, turning to all rain by mid-morning. Wednesday's the big wind event — gusts to 45 miles an hour across the Magic Valley and Snake River Plain. Strong enough to make driving tricky, especially for high-profile vehicles.

Northern Idaho, you're already in the thick of it. Rain falls through noon, then transitions to a rain-snow mix this afternoon. Lookout Pass is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 8 A.M. Tuesday. Expect 3 to 6 inches of wet snow with burst rates up to an inch per hour tonight. Plan on variable road conditions, especially after sunset. By Wednesday, the system weakens, but lingering moisture keeps a chance of light snow in the forecast through Friday.

Here's your week ahead. Tuesday stays wet statewide. Wednesday dries out, but Eastern Idaho's wind sticks around. Thursday and Friday bring sunshine, with highs climbing to the low 50s. The weekend could see a slight chance of showers creeping back in.

If you're heading over Lookout Pass tonight, chain up and expect delays. Wet roads Tuesday could mean a slick morning commute in the Treasure Valley.

That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Idaho Weather Podcast — it's Sunday, February 22nd. And folks, Idaho is doing what Idaho does best: giving us three different weather stories at once.

Down in the Treasure Valley, you're waking up to 35 degrees. By 2 P.M., you'll hit 59 — that's 19 degrees warmer than normal for late February. Sunshine all day, winds gusting to 24 miles an hour out of the southeast. Feels like spring showed up early. Tonight stays mild at 37.

Drive east toward Idaho Falls and it's a different world. You're starting at 19 degrees, feeling like 19 degrees with the wind. Highs only reach 43 under sunny skies, but that chill hangs around. Tonight drops to 23 with light breezes.

Up in Northern Idaho, Coeur d'Alene starts at 30, then rain moves in by 2 P.M. And sticks around until 19 degrees. Highs reach 49. And tonight that rain turns to drizzle with lows near 39. Mountain passes could get slick by morning.

Monday night kicks off a subtropical moisture surge — heavy rain for valleys, snow above 6,000 feet. Tuesday brings rain to the Treasure Valley with highs near 50, while Eastern Idaho could see a rain-snow mix. Northern Idaho stays wet through Wednesday, with snow levels dropping to 4,000 feet by midweek. Thursday clears out, but winds ramp up — gusts to 40 miles an hour possible in higher terrain. By Friday, we're back to sunny skies and mid-50s.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Idaho Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 17th.

Folks, step outside right now and the air bites back. The Treasure Valley sits at 27 degrees. Drive east toward Idaho Falls and you're feeling 13. Northern Idaho splits the difference at 24. Light winds, just 6 miles an hour, so at least the cold is polite about it.

Here's the deal. Sunrise hit at 6:32 this morning, and sunset lands just before 5:20 tonight. That's nearly three extra minutes of daylight. Small victory, but in February? We take every one.

Air quality is moderate today. If your lungs are sensitive, you'll want to keep things easy outside.

Now tonight is where it gets serious. Clear skies let all that heat escape like somebody left the front door open. Treasure Valley drops to around 15 degrees. Northern Idaho settles near 12. But Eastern Idaho? Minus 5 below zero. That's the kind of cold where your truck protests before you do.

Sunday brings more sunshine, but don't let it fool you. Highs barely scratch the upper 20s in the Treasure Valley. Mid 20s up north. Low 20s out east. Beautiful to look at through a window. Brutal to stand in.

Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Dry, cold, and quiet. Classic Idaho winter. Highs nudge into the 30s by midweek, which honestly will feel like a heat wave compared to tomorrow morning. No storms lurking. Just crisp air, bright skies, and that sharp contrast between sun warmed afternoons and icy nights. Perfect weather for Sunday River. Wait, wrong state. Perfect weather for hitting the slopes at Bogus Basin or Brundage if you ask me.

One more thing. If this forecast helped you plan your Saturday, share it with a friend. Word of mouth keeps us going.

Bundle up out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Stay safe, folks!
