The Convent is named after the Holy Martyr Elisabeth Romanov, and it draws its inspiration from the good works of Saint Martha and Maria Convent, which she established during her life.

We are a convent that is open to the world and pursues an active social ministry in hospitals and long-term care institutions, in education, among bed-ridden patients, the disadvantaged and the poor. In the words of our spiritual father Andrey Lemeshonok, we were called to bring comfort to sorrowful hearts and hear their pleas for help.

The history of the sisterhood, its churches and monastics teach us one important lesson: the Lord has the power to create good things out of nothing; He can defy our understanding of our possibilities and capabilities in our lives. With Him, the impossible becomes possible. The creation of this Convent is yet another proof of this truth.

<itunes:title>Trisagion Film Producers - Interview for ORTHODOX ARTS FESTIVAL 2022</itunes:title>

Trisagion Films mission is to bring the Orthodox faith to all by presenting tangible theology through original videos and articles, all to the glory of God. We cover aspects of Orthodox worship and practice, pilgrimage, the lives of the saints, iconography and the sacred arts, and recordings of homilies, interviews, and special events. Trisagion Films is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to sharing the Orthodox faith.

Trisagion Films was born out of our founder’s combined love for films and the Orthodox faith. It began first as ‘Orthodox YouTube’ but soon he realized that we needed a more original name. He thought of the Greek word ‘trisagion’ which means ‘thrice-holy’ and how it is part of one of the earliest hymns and prayers of the church. So, on April 6, 2012, Trisagion Films was officially founded as a channel on YouTube. We later added a website and are now active on social media as a way to share what we create as well as communicate with our audience. May we all be guided with the help of Christ's love to enter his divine and heavenly kingdom.

Michael Kapeluck was born in the Unites States in the Western Pennsylvania town of Carnegie just outside of Pittsburgh. He is the grandson of Ukrainian immigrants and has been a lifelong communicant of his local parish of St. Peter & St. Paul.

Michael trained in the arts for 12 years at both the Carnegie Museum of Art and Carnegie Mellon University graduating with high honors and a Bachelors of Fine Art.

After graduation he immersed himself in the local contemporary art scene showing his work at numerous area art galleries. Ultimately Michael found the secular contemporary art world to be unfulfilling, that there was something missing.

He found what he was searching for right where it always was, in the Church. He had always been part of the Orthodox faith, but when it came to his art, the Church was never given serious thought and even at times was pushed away. But now, he submitted to God and told Him to do with him what He willed. Michael quit his job and also gave up the world of secular art to devote his life to the study and creation of the sacred art of iconography.

For the past 35 years Michael has created icon murals and panels for over 30 churches across the U.S. and icon panels for hundreds of individuals. He continues to enjoy the challenge of pushing his skills to greater levels and he thanks the Lord for such a tremendous blessing to be able to have a sustained career in this sacred art of the Church. Michael continues to live, paint and worship in his home town of Carnegie.

Simon Morsink is an art historian and icon expert, used to be the director of the Morsink Icon Gallery in Amsterdam, and has been recently appointed the new executive director of the Museum of Russian Icons IN USA.

The Museum of Russian Icons is a non-profit art museum located in Clinton, Massachusetts, United States. The collection includes more than 1,000 Russian icons and related artifacts, making it one of the largest private collections of Russian icons outside of Russia and the largest in North America.

HISTORY - In the 1960s, plastics engineer Gordon B. Lankton went to work at Nypro, an international injection molded plastics company, in Clinton, Massachusetts and eventually became president. In 1989, on a business trip to Russia, Mr. Lankton purchased his first icon at an open-air market. His collection quickly grew, and eventually gave birth to the idea of starting a museum. Mr. Lankton chose Clinton for the location to give back to the community that had supported him.

The Museum is housed in a 150-year-old former mill building. A contemporary, aluminum-clad addition to the mill building accommodating the South Gallery, Library and offices was completed in 2008. The adjacent 150-year-old former courthouse and police station with holding cells was acquired in 2010 and renovated to provide additional gallery space, a terrace with a green roof, a tea room, and performance facilities accommodating lectures and concerts. Three floors of galleries display the permanent collection. A dedicated gallery features special exhibitions ranging from contemporary Russian art to icons from other Orthodox cultures. It is the only museum in the USA dedicated to Russian icons, and the largest collection of icons outside of Russia.

MISSION - The Museum of Russian Icons inspires the appreciation and study of Russian culture by collecting and exhibiting icons and related objects; igniting the interest of national and international audiences; and offering interactive educational programs. The Museum serves as a leading center for research and scholarship through the Center for Icon Studies and other institutional collaborations.

Joanne has been learning Byzantine music since 2014. Her grandfather was a head chanter in Melbourne for 20 years before returning to Greece.

As a young girl, she would sit on the step of the ψαλτήρι during Church services as she looked up to her grandfather chanting, hoping that one day she too would have the opportunity to learn Byzantine Ecclesiastical Music.

In 2014, Joanne found Byzantine Ecclesiastical Music classes offered to both males and females that she attended for a year and then later transitioned to private tuition.

She began to notice the different elements and tonal frequencies females have to males, which prompted her to seek further guidance from Nektaria Karantzi, an internationally acclaimed Byzantine chanter from Greece known as one of the most influential voices in Byzantine chant.

The highly gifted chanteuse of sacred and Byzantine music, Nektaria Karantzi, is inspired by her personal experience growing up as a child near Saint Porphyrios the Kafsokalyvitis. She received the blessing and encouragement of the Saint to sing for the Lord, Byzantine music. In 2013 Nektaria founded and established the Women in Byzantine Music Worldwide Association which enables female chanters worldwide to connect, unite and inspire one another.

Joanne has been a member of the Women in Byzantine Music Worldwide Association since 2014 and, together with Melbourne-based members, has begun to record hymns, offer support to one another and practice diligently to ensure they chant with the most prayerful spirit.
