Discussions and commentary of the marching arts, especially drum corps, from a writer who has been in the activity since 1962. Each month, Drum Corps World takes apart one season, one production, or one design decision — where the music came from, what the design team was actually arguing, and why adjudicators say what they say. Written and hosted by Gary J. Dickelman, who marched in DCI founder corps Blessed Sacrament Golden Knights and has been covering the activity in print for over 25 years. This is not a results show, but a show about why the results happen. Episodes will often include guest personalities from the drum corps activity.

Twelve World Class corps built 2026 on William Blake, Joseph Conrad, J.M. Barrie, Georges Seurat and a poem somebody posted to Tumblr around 2013. The Bluecoats went undefeated. Arguably, the most talented performing ensemble on the field finished fourth. This episode is about why those two facts are the same story — that a drum corps season measures not how good you are but how much better you got, and that in 2026 those came apart. Full written coverage at drumcorpsworld.com.
