This week's episode of Death and Her Shadows focuses on finding my gender expression while navigating unsafe spaces, the monstrous feminine, Mulan, and how I've managed to educate cis people with the knowledge I have to offer so far in a pretty weird but effectively simple way.

Disclaimer: I've only started identifying as non-binary for a handful of years because I lacked the proper resources and community to educate me on what I felt was right for myself. Therefore, there may be ways that I speak about identity that may seem crass or carefree but please don't misunderstand that as the intent to cause harm. The more educated I become, the more I uncover about myself and my identity. If I've said something within the content of this episode that offends, please feel free to leave a comment or message anywhere you're able to access in order to call me in. As I mentioned in the episode, it's hard to find a kind community to properly educate and I'm all ears. Thank you ♥

About the host:

Viridia-Mae (she/they) is a death doula, shadow worker, and death work educator. She stumbled into death work to bring attention to death in marginalized communities where trauma is televised for entertainment or used as shock value to further political narratives. “I give space for my own audience to work through their anxieties surrounding their own mortality and hopefully provide spiritual guidance to those processing grief and loss.” She’s also the author of the Substack newsletter, The Shadow Space, which expands on death work, humanitarian activism, opinions on social issues, and simply being human.

Follow Viridia-Mae:

https://linktr.ee/viridiamaerivers

Follow Death and Her Shadows:

YouTube

Instagram

Support the podcast:

https://ko-fi.com/deathandhershadows
