Hi! This is Orelle!!

I am using this platform and others to bring awareness to the current state of our beloved Belize.

As a people, we are facing serious challenges not only financially, but also emotionally and spiritually. Too many of us are struggling to make ends meet, losing hope, and feeling disconnected from one another and from a shared vision for our country’s future.

My intention is to ask the hard questions the ones we often avoid—about where we are, how we got here, and what must change if we are to move forward. This is not about blame or politics. It is about truth, accountability, and unity.

I believe Belizeans are capable, and deeply rooted in faith and community. If we can come together around honest dialogue and feasible solutions, we can begin to improve our quality of life not for a few, but for most.

This is an invitation to my Belizean brothers and sisters: Let us talk openly. Let us listen respectfully. Let us think critically. And let us take a leap of faith together to build a better Belize.

How do you start a podcast?

Honestly—I have no idea. I guess you just start and see where it goes.

And that’s exactly what this is. Over time, I’m hoping this podcast becomes clearer, more focused, and more useful as we figure things out together.

Let me tell you how this all started.

I’m broke.

And I’m tired of being broke.

The goal isn’t to get rich overnight. The goal is to climb out of the hole—and hopefully bring others with me on the way to freedom.

We all know the saying: If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.

That’s what this podcast is about.

You won’t be handed fish here and there. Instead, you’ll get tools—ways of thinking, skills, and perspectives—to help you catch your own. You know the proverbial “fish”. And I’m excited, because I truly believe there are plenty of fish in the sea… yeah, I went there.

But before we start fishing, we need to understand where we are—and how we got here.

Why is it that we, as Belizeans, struggle to get ahead?

Why does it feel like we work hard but still can’t build a comfortable life?

Why do people from other countries come here and seem to succeed

faster than we do?

What’s holding us back?

Stay tuned to find out.
