Through extended conversations with Swedenborgian ministers, theological scholars, clergy, and religious studies experts, Crosshatched explores how biblical interpretation, church history, and spiritual practice shape our understanding of faith, grace, works, and spiritual transformation. Each episode engages Christian theology with intellectual rigor and openness, offering a serious alternative to polarized or slogan-driven religious discourse.

At the center of the podcast is a guiding question: What does salvation truly mean — and how does that meaning shift when examined through Swedenborgian theology and the broader Christian tradition? Drawing from the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg, historical Christian thought, and contemporary scholarship, conversations address regeneration, free will, divine love, sanctification, moral formation, and the lived experience of faith.

Rather than framing doctrine as a debate to win, Crosshatched treats theology as an ongoing inquiry. Episodes unpack the development of the “faith alone” doctrine, explore its scriptural foundations, and examine its practical implications for Christian life. Guests engage topics such as biblical hermeneutics, grace and works, justification, spiritual growth, mysticism, ecclesiology, and the intersection of belief and action.

This podcast is designed for listeners who want depth:

• Progressive Christians seeking thoughtful theological engagement

• Students and scholars of religious studies

• Pastors, ministry leaders, and seminary learners

• Spiritual seekers reexamining evangelical frameworks

• Anyone exploring Swedenborgian thought or Christian mysticism

• Listeners interested in faith, doctrine, and spiritual development

Michael Robbins guides each discussion with clarity, curiosity, and careful scholarship. Complex theological concepts are explored without oversimplification, making the show accessible while preserving academic integrity. The goal is not quick answers, but meaningful dialogue that expands understanding.

In an era where Christian theology is often reduced to sound bites, Crosshatched creates space for sustained reflection. It bridges academic theology and lived spirituality, offering conversations that challenge assumptions while remaining grounded in Christian tradition.

Whether you are studying theology, preparing sermons, questioning inherited doctrine, or exploring the relationship between faith and works, Crosshatched invites you into thoughtful, substantive dialogue.

This is Christian theology examined with care. This is salvation explored beyond slogans. This is Crosshatched.
