The Umbara arc

In this episode, the guys discuss one of the most highly regarded Clone Wars arcs, the Umbara arc. The arc follows all of our favourite clones of the 501st legion, as they have to contend with the harsh conditions of the planet Umbara, under the leadership of harsh Jedi Master Pong Krell. As always, the episode features our humble Nerf Osian's first reactions to this arc; meanwhile, James reflects on the first time he watched it, almost a decade ago.

Sometimes once is enough. That’s what someone should have told us after we released our first episode. Alas, here we are with One Hit April, where the guys discuss films by directors who only got in the chair once. As well as recent release The Drama (2026, dir. Kristoffer Borgli), the films discussed are Wanda (1970, dir. Barbara Loden), Street Trash (1987, dir. J. Michael Muro) and Mystery Men (1999, Kinka Usher). In the spirit of the theme and for no other reason whatsoever, we are only releasing one episode for April.

Hopefully, we didn't let you wait too long for the actual B-Side episode, wherein the guys recap and review the 2025-2026 award season, which culminated in the 98th Academy Awards. The guys go category by category, commenting on the winners, the nominees and other films they had seen, which might have been deserving of awards. They also touch on whether ties are allowed and pitch a new category, best minor role.

Before the guys delve into those, they close out the spiritual Charli XCX trilogy of episodes by discussing her recent mockumentary film The Moment (2026, dir. Aidan Zamiri). The choices are M (1951, dir. Joseph Losey), Room at the Top (1958, dir. Jack Clayton) and Anatomy of a Murder (1959, dir. Otto Preminger).

Grab your weizenbier! Grab your bratwurst! For it is Februar, AKA German Month, on the Code Purple Podcast. Before the guys set off to Germany, they take a brief detour to the wily, windy moors of Yorkshire and discuss the polarising recent release, "Wuthering Heights" (2026, dir. Emerald Fennell). The film choices are M (1931, Dir. Fritz Lang), Werner and the Wizard of Booze (1990, dir. Niki List) and Toni Erdmann (2016, dir Maren Ade). The guys regret to inform that this is the only episode of this month as technical difficulties prevented the release of a B-Side episode, as teased in "Brief January". Don't fret too much, however, as these difficulties have since been overcome and it should be on to the new schedule for next month.
