BREAD — Executive Summary

Business. Revenue. Entrepreneurship. Access. Development.

BREAD is a 30-minute weekly business radio program hosted by entrepreneur and community economic-development leader Gail E. Lynch on Radio Regent and available through iHeartRadio.

Rooted in Toronto, BREAD creates conversations about entrepreneurship, small business and economic opportunity, highlighting the people building businesses and the institutions that influence whether those businesses can succeed.

The program goes beyond traditional entrepreneur success stories. BREAD explores what it actually takes to start, operate and grow a business: finding customers, generating revenue, managing costs, accessing capital, securing contracts, navigating procurement and finding the right resources and relationships.

Guests include Toronto business owners and entrepreneurs as well as politicians, government representatives, financial institutions, nonprofits, developers, business-support organizations and other decision-makers who influence economic opportunity. At least once each month, BREAD brings an institutional or public-sector voice into the conversation to connect listeners directly with programs, resources, funding, procurement and other opportunities.

Recurring Segments

What’s the BREAD? — Meet the guest and hear the story behind the person, business or organization.

BREAD Bite — A candid conversation about customers, costs, challenges, growth and lessons learned.

Follow the BREAD — Follow the money, customers, contracts, resources, opportunities and decision-makers that influence business success.

Put Me On — Guests share a useful program, resource, opportunity, connection or business tip listeners should know about.

Last Slice — A quick, fun closing round that reveals the person behind the work and leaves listeners with a memorable business nugget.

By putting entrepreneurs and institutions at the same table, BREAD creates a platform where business stories lead to practical information, resources and opportunities.

BREAD follows the conversation to the opportunity.
