Yes, that's right -- it's Star Wars Day.... well, for the podcast. The second series of Hit or Miss: Big Screen Podcast begins its aptly named 'Phase One.' Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the latest MCU film, is what these manly men are reviewing this time around. Michael, an MCU & Chinese-cinema buff; will he find that this film holds up compared to the other films amongst his vast array of prior viewing, and will Will, who has watched the MCU in its entirety for the first time, beginning in March, like it just as much, or even more than Michael? In the second of two special guest reviewer episodes to conclude series one of the podcast Mike is back and this time is joined by his old friend of many years and his co-creator of 'Thursday the 12th' horror blog: Gary Shaw. The two review James Cameron's preferred 1990 special edition of his 1986 film 'Aliens'. Along the way they discuss Gary's first traumatic exposure to this movie, their painful reliving of having to watch one scene repeatedly at university, what appeals to each about sci-fi horror, the 'Alien' franchise in general and the various tropes and ideology this film develops or created, along with much more. "Marines, on the ready line" to watch the review of this intense action-packed monster flick.

In the first of two special episodes to wrap up the first series of the podcast Mike is joined by two very special guests: Geoff and Paul from the 'MCU Corner 2 Corner Podcast'. Appropriately the quadruple are discussing and reviewing a Marvel movie (but not MCU): Sam Raimi's 2004 sequel 'Spider-Man 2'. Along the way they discuss what Spidey and heroes mean to each of them, memories of this film, the superhero "formula", the "Parker luck" and much more film and comic geekery!

The usual two-man review series 1-format concludes for the time being as Will and Michael deep-dive into Christopher Nolan's acclaimed sci-fi, Interstellar. The podcast continues next week with a special podcast x podcast three-man collaboration.

Mike and Will are back from their break with another episode of the Big Screen Podcast. This time the duo review one of Mike's most personally important films and Will watches this nearly 30-year-old film for the first time. But just what did the two have to say about Steven Spielberg's seminal dino film. What did they like and why? Is there anything they don't think worked? Could they possibly be in agreement and maybe even potentially settle on that elusive perfect score? Due to various unforeseen circumstances, Michael is flying solo for this one, but that seems fitting as he reviews the much-delayed first solo outing for Marvel's Black Widow. Don't worry we still have a review contributed by Will, and the returning audience interaction section, so it's not all terribly one-sided. Mike touches on the acting, direction, action, and plotting of the film before delving into spoilers and discussing the controversy surrounding a particular villain, giving thoughts on the positives and negatives along the way.

Michael and Will are back to review one of Will's 'bad' choices - Stefan Ruzowitzky's 2018 science fiction horror 'Patient Zero'. We discuss moments from the movie, the lighting... regularly, and what the audience has had to say about this film.

In this latest episode, Mike and Will subject themselves to watching and discussing the infamous film that is Joel Schumacher's 'Batman & Robin'. They begin by discussing how Will's bright idea led them here, Mike explains the background surrounding this movie, how it got made, and future plans that ultimately were not to be (well, when you make a film that's often regarded as one of the worst of all time it's not surprising that you don't get another shot). The two then discuss their own thoughts and opinions about the movie, how bad it is exactly, why, and discuss the barrage of incessant pun-related humour that this film offers up.
