A chance encounter between a police sergeant and a high school student during the 9/11 attacks in New York City results in a lifetime friendship.

With the collapse of the first tower at Ground Zero in New York City on 9/11, a plainclothes police sergeant finds himself standing in the street, blinded by debris and fighting to breathe. He doesn't realize that he is in front of a church where a young, high school student is watching the horror unfold outside.
