On this edition of the podcast, we cover the AAC agenda package for the meeting that will take place on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Instructions are already posted at the top of the AAC page and we explain why we made this change.

We also explain again why we do not have video podcasting available. We record in audio, so having it converted to a video, I don't know what it'll do. I'lll be ignoring any future email about this topic unless we get something that indicates they'd like to have video podcasting. But it only works with apple.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me through the website and or contact info through the podcast.

Thanks for listening!

<itunes:title>The Accessibility Report April 2026 Observations and Quarterly Feb-Apr </itunes:title>

Hello gang, welcome to the Accessibility Observations Report for April 2026. This podcast covers the Monthly April report, the normalization of February's numbers, as well as the Quarterly February-April 2026 numbers.

Starting in May, we normalize things in to 4 categories:

Fully Accessible: those rides whose internal and external are working or internal working by train

Partial: Some things working, others may not

Failures: Those who demonstrate complete failure

Unknown: Those trips I could not verify due to positioning, or other variables

This could make it very interesting, because we're not talking just success VS failure rate, we have more. The unknown could come where I'm in the back of the bus, but here a stop as I'm getting off, and the back speakers not working at all. We'll come across this if it happens.

What I can say is that we know there are problems, and I want to invite people to contact me to tell me how they're doing and I'll ride along with you. Welcome to all new listeners.

This podcast covers some small web site stuff, as well as the agenda package for the board meeting which has a lot of contractual stuff, FIFA things, FY27 items, one item held back from April's meeting and more.

This podcast covers all things meetings, including the upcoming board meeting, Operations which I sit on, The AAC which I've been a member of, PSAC, SFV and of course this board. The only group I'm a member of is the AAC, all others I am as a member of the public.

This podcast covers observations, rides and more. Its over 70 episodes, but I thought since this is the first going through social media, i'd do a short explanation.

We recently got our main braille display back, and yes, I did make fun of myself for not reading some of the numbers right, but hey, it can be taxing reading a long document.

We'll have more podcasts soon, stay tuned and we hope you subscribe.

Our web site has full contact info if you need it. <itunes:title>A day in the life: Industrial Cyber's article titled Ababil of Minab claims cyberattack on LACMTA, exposing risks to rail control systems and critical transit infrastructure</itunes:title>

Hello gang,

Welcome to another edition of the podcast "A Day in the Life of Jared," I'm Jared.

This time, we're going to cover a very big article which we need to step through.

The article is titled Ababil of Minab claims cyberattack on LACMTA, exposing risks to rail control systems and critical transit infrastructure. This article comes to us from a new publication that was sent to me through Google, because as we discuss, Los Angeles Metro has said nothing much in regards to the whole incident. This article was written on the 15th.

In an earlier article, we talk and read the article that came out through the Los Angeles times, and you can listen and or read the transcript of the podcast titled L.A. Metro confirms Cyberattack.

Also, on my own blog, which is called "Jared's Technology Network," we decided to take apart the two articles since there are a lot of unknowns.

One article, the L.A. Times article indicates Metro has 1400 servers, but the Industrial Cyber article indicates there are 1421 servers. But the question is, do we really know how many servers, virtual or otherwise, any company has? I think the answer is "no."

Also, there are a lot of unknowns. There are scary numbers out there, but once you go through what's hype VS what is known, you'll understand what is going on.

The article is lengthy, but it is not considered a diatribe. It is breaking down what is known publicly VS what is being reported.

The blog post is titled: L.A. Metro Confirms Cyberattack as Details Remain Unclear and should be read after you consume both the L.A. Times article and the IC article.

I can be reached for comments, and I can do my best to give you answers. While I am not technically an employee, I may be able to base my answers on what should be the case, but I'm not going to lead you wrong.

I hope that everyone enjoys the program, and we'll be back with more podcasts really soon.

Contact metro at jaredrimer.com (use the at symbol where applicable)

Text or WhatsApp: 804-442-6975

Comment line: 818-527-4754

      <itunes:title>L.A. Metro confirms Cyberattack</itunes:title>

Hello gang,

Welcome to another edition of the podcast. I'm Jared Rimer, and on this edition of the podcast, we're going to talk a little bit about security.

While the goal of this podcast is not necessarily security related, there are times that this crosses and this is a great example.

L.A. Metro is not immune to cyberattacks. This is when someone who is not authorized gains access to a network.

Unfortunately, in March, this happened to Metro, and we've not learned a whole lot.

Many different committees, including several of whom I sit on as a member of the public, were asking questions and Metro did not really have any answers.

While trying to figure out how to cover this, I found an article from the L.A. Times that gives us an update on the situation, and we will be reading the article on this edition of the podcast.

The article is titled L.A. Metro confirms it was hacked. I'm Jared and on this 40 plus minute podcast, I take you through March's report of accessibility observations.

In no way am I saying that the ssystem is perfect, because you'll see that in February, I highlight issues with trains which I did not observe in March.

I want to hear from you, the listener. Especially if your trips are 90 percent or higher as defined by Metro's standards.

This means that the majority of trips must have things as perfect as possible. There is room for error, but 90 percent seems to be the baseline.

In March, 19 out of 38 trips had the requirements of being successful. That's a 50 percent success rate, about 40 percent failure and 10 percent of unknown value. This is because the data I'm observing could not be validated due to different factors.

Send Email, send me a text, or even give me a call. Let's talk.

Welcome to a day in the life of Jared, I'm Jared. On this episode, we are paying tribute to one of the AAC fomer members, Ben Rockwell.

Ben was born in 1945 and died in December 2025. We were notified on December 22, 2025 and the memorial was on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

The podcast itself covers his life as I knew it, the journey to Long Beach where we met up with our very own Cynde Soto, member of the AAC. After we take you through the Long Beach Loop, I give you my thoughts on the service, play one of Ben's favorites as well as one very impactful piece of my choice that I played in a different podcast of a similar nature.

Here is a link to our prior coverage of Ben's passing.

Did you happen to know when I started with the AAC, Ben took chairship? It is a memory of the past. Enjoy this program and we'll be back with more on a day in the life very soon.
